the dogwarts banner still fucks me up. it’s red for the red king, for the blood spilled, for the lives taken. it’s got the teeth, the fangs of ren. the fact that it’s so basic, so simple just messes with me because like. to get a skull pattern you need a whole ass wither skull, you need flowers for a flower pattern and so on and so forth but with the dogwarts banner! you don’t need anything special! all you need is some wool and some dye and a loom. it’s so bare bones and it has so much meaning behind it. it’s the banner of soldiers, warriors. it can be made anywhere and it’s painfully simple but it means more than that, of course it means more than that. it means enough that, despite how easy it would have been to make another one, martyn died trying to get it back. it’s about the principle of the thing.

There's a bunch of details in the tattoos themselves as well as a bit of enchantment language which does translate to words! But for the most part they're just references of previous content or fitting to their styles/online personas!

According to Martyn's life series lore, the players after every season remember previous seasons BUT all of their sentiments and emotions are reset. So they can find new allies, start fresh

however, there's examples where a character is too traumatized and do not fully "reset" in time- this manifests through them holding onto grudges and attachments, such as Pearl wearing red and asking for Tilly, Martyn wearing the dogwarts sash

does that mean. Scott, giving the poppies to Jimmy in Last Life,,, or saying he loves Jimmy in Limited Life, being willing to sacrifice time for Jimmy despite him not saying ily back.....

and then. Does that mean that Jimmy's reciprocated feelings for Scott were just. Erased by the Watchers at the reset.
