Hey guys just so you know I’ve read a bit about Kurt and Mona’s relationship in the books and it’s absolutely devastating in a mundane every day grey inevitably loneliness kind of way

Although, the fact that the show is set in modern-day Sweden and deal with very current political events like anti-immigration and Neo Nazism is really impressive. Overall, I feel like they handle it very well but on some occasions the script is a bit disappointing.
I’m rewatching Young Wallander and whilst I can’t expect the script to be perfect, I got frustrated at times by the way the show handled the dynamic between the police and the POC in Sweden. Like when Bashir says walking into a police station made him want to throw up and Kurt responds with “that’s a bit dramatic,” there’s no acknowledgment of the systemic harm caused by the police to the Black community. Kurt’s comment made complete sense for his character; he really believed in what the police force represented and its potential to help people. The scriptwriters, however, potentially could have spent a bit more time showing the effects or racial profiling or demonstrated racism and anti-immigration sentiments within the police force.
Overall I think the show dealt with racism/anti-immigration pretty well, like with Reza and Kurt’s argument in series 2, but at times it felt a bit neo-liberal

making myself watch season two of young wallander slowly but so far it’s Great. love the respect the writers have for the characters. love the characters acting like adults, apologizing to their friends and understanding their coworkers’ actions and putting the work into their relationships with their significant others. love the neon lighting

I just re-watched Young Wallander on Netflix and I'd love to chat to the 4 other people in the fandom about it 😌😌
