Fic idea I keep thinking about:

Illya and the team run into the men who took Illya’s father away while on a mission. Solo and/or Gaby don't know why Illya’s freaking out (they know Illya’s background but not the men) but have to talk him down in the moment bc he's on the verge of destroying everything. Later, back at the hotel, they (lovingly) pressure Illya into explaining what happened. *Cue vulnerable storytelling about childhood trauma*

And then of course lots of comfort and figuring out how to complete the mission with limited illya involvement (bc no way gaby/solo are putting him through that but he’s stubborn).

And if the next day the men’s car randomly breaks down and they happen to lose their wallets? Whoops, that's an an odd coincidence. (Gaby and Solo want to do more but the men are kgb/govt officials so they'll take any and all petty revenge they can before the team leaves town lol. Waverly is thrilled (not) with their reports. But okay with it bc he takes care of his agents, unlike *some* agencies.)
