I don't think there's anything wrong with liking Kusuke - I do too, he's an interesting character - but I keep coming across people who genuinely seem to think there's nothing grim about him which is like???

Yes, he did buy a house for his family, but he also riddled it with cameras (at least I assume so, judging by how he's often shown watching them on a screen).

Yes, he made Kusuo his limiters, but he also added a feature that made it impossible for Kusuo to refuse his games without his powers being exposed.

Every act of love is also a grab for control. Yeah, he isn't completely and utterly evil, but nobody is.

Tbh the art u see on this acc I referenced the saiki manga a lot (mostly to draw a comic in the manga style), then sorta mixed that with my own art style!

s2 e8 of saiki k. saiki reveals that ever since he time traveled to the past and accidentally messed up the timeline in an earlier episode, he's been getting stuck in time loops. it's implied that this is caused by saiki's own anxieties, as clearing his head breaks him out of these loops. immediately after this is revealed, nendou almost dies violently, barely being saved by saiki's powers at the last second. time loops. saiki watches nendou die violently in front of him 16,785 times before breaking the loop by dissociating so heavily that he manages to save nendou without consciously thinking about it. this is entirely played as a gag and is never mentioned ever again.

#WHY DID ASOU WRITE THIS #no ok you’re saying it’s played as a gag but the thing is like. There’s no punchline. And there’s no jokes. #It was Bizarre #Like its not trying to be super serious tonally #But it’s not trying to be funny either #it ends with saiki- visibly traumatized- telling nendou not to ask about ramen bc he almost gave him a heart attack #There are no jokes throughout it it’s just played totally straight #Yet still unserious #which makes it really jarring #there are no other chapters like this #its the uncanny valley of manga chapters
