   When Bigby came through her door, Holly had to fight the instinct to duck everything on the counter beneath, tensing for a fight or bad news. Her saving grace that prevented following that instinct was the small voice in the back of her head that said “It’s supposed to be better now”. Still, she held a bewildered look, brimming with anticipation. Forced friendliness where none had been before topped off her reaction.

   “...what’s up?” She greeted awkwardly, crossing her fingers out of sight as she hoped that he was not bringing another shitstorm into her bar.

"Hey Holly you got a minute?" [I walk into your bar like I own the place and light my cigarette]

   “Yes, I got a minute.”         God, did she hate the way he seemed so self-righteous.

"Don't struggle--I'm trying to help you!"

   "Woody- Woody!" Holly shouted, raising her hands to try to cause distance between them. Perhaps she was needlessly rejecting his help but she couldn't help it when it came to him now. Every time she looked at him, she thought of Lily. When his hands touched her, she could only think about how those same hands touched her now deceased sister in ways she didn't want to dwell on.

   "I'm just still a bit wobbly coming down from what Swineheart gave me. I can walk on my own." She declared before plopping herself down onto a stool. Yeah, she could walk on her own but it wasn't the greatest experience. Her ankles shook slightly in her heels. 

   "What are you even doing here? Thought you'd be too scared to show your face to me."

   Holly had a smug smile smeared across her face due to her earlier comment but when the seriousness radiating from Bigby began to seep into her, the smile faltered and eventually dissolved completely into a troubled frown. 

   Ah, shit. She hated it when people did this. "Just tryin' to get by in my own way, Bigby. Can't let myself fall too far, I might never get back up again. I'm hurting, I'm mourning, just not in front of everybody. People begin to pity you if you do and then it just leaves you with this really bad feeling."

"Not my point."

"Not that I enjoy sounding like a broken record here, but keep shit bottled up like you do—and don’t deny it, because it’s obvious—and it isn’t going to be pretty. You’re not stupid, so I know I don’t have to tell you that, but sometimes it helps to hear things from other people.”
