sometimes i remember that ib fan twitter user tht was diehard insisting abt how mary did nothing wrong in the story and how garry was apparently in the wrong

#i’m an ant. i like paintings [reblog tag] #as the rose wilts so will queue #this was SO WEIRD to encounter in the wild! i was just searching through the blog cause i like genetics and think ‘did they misspell— #—something because this looks like a reference to 2012/2022 rpgmaker horror game ib and historically i am the only person i know who cares— #—about it.’ only when garry was mentioned did i realize that i just got lucky #awesome thematically that its sequence is a flower though. #anyway we all want an ending where they all survive. let’s get you some fix it fic. (joke. but my personal favorite is ‘grafted roses’)

Backstory: “On a trip to an art gallery with her parents, Ib finds herself in a nightmarish and labyrinthian world made up of living (and very dangerous) works of art. She finds two* other humans in this place, and together they work to solve puzzles in order to leave this hellish world.”

• “Goes to an Art Gallery with her parents until the lights shut off and the doors lock. Going into the gallery art is the only way to go home.”

• “Ib attends an art gallery with her parents, and gets separated from them as everyone around her seems to have disappeared. She explores the abandoned gallery hall, eventually entering into a painting and thus into a magical world where the artwork seems to be alive.”

• “Little girl who went to an art gallery with her mom, got lost and ended up in a dark painting world and had to survive using intellect and the lighter she found along the way!”

Why should they win the tournament?: “RPG horror games are so good. Just in general. And Ib is underappreciated as it is.”

• “Shes a nice girl and is very brave despite being in a spooky art gallery.”

• “Ib is a quintessential RPG-maker horror game, with wonderful artwork and atmosphere, multiple endings, and moments that genuinely make your heart race. Despite being a silent protagonist, Ib gives off quite a bit of personality in how she interacts with the other prominent characters. Sincerely I don't believe the game is popular enough for her to win, but I think she deserves a spot in the competition for the sake of representing a genre of games that many of us with no consoles or expensive PCs grew up immersed in.”
