Doorstep Flowers
Tzuyu x gn reader
fluffiest fluff, not proofread
Tzuyu works on weekends for Sana - in relation to this fic :)
Tumblr media
Tzuyu awakens with a bounce in her step, greeted by the warm embrace of the sun and the melodious chirping of birds. She leisurely prepares for the day ahead, knowing she has an hour before the flower shop opens.
As she sets off on her bicycle to work, she opts for the scenic route, coasting along the shoreline and pausing to indulge in tea from a cute café. She continues her journey and revels in the gentle caress of the summer breeze. She feels the wind tug at the strands of hair that had escaped her helmet, sending them dancing in its playful embrace. With each encounter, her heart swells with happiness as she showers affection on every dog she meets, tenderly patting their fluffy heads. Their wagging tails and grateful eyes mirror her own sense of contentment.
After her delightful encounters, Tzuyu finally arrives at the flower shop. With practiced ease, she begins her opening routine, tending to the lush greenery by gently watering each plant. Next, she displays the vibrant faux bouquets on display, ensuring they caught the eye of passersby. Plugging in her phone, she selects a playlist of soothing background music to set the perfect ambiance. Outside, she arranges flower pots and vases, inviting customers with their colorful blooms. Lastly, she stacks up the new bags of soil, ready for any gardening enthusiasts seeking replenishment.
As she surveyed her handiwork, a sense of fulfillment washed over her, knowing she had prepared the shop for another beautiful day of blooming possibilities. With a satisfied sigh, Tzuyu cleaned her hands on her uniform apron, gently blowing away a few strands of hair that had escaped from her face. The routine of preparing the shop for the day ahead always brought her a sense of peace and purpose. Adjusting her apron with a small smile, she glanced around at the colorful array of flowers and greenery, ready to welcome customers.
"Tzuyu! Tzuyu!" A voice called out from outside the shop. She paused in her work, recognizing the familiar voice, but as she stepped outside, she saw no one in sight. A puzzled expression crossed her face as she scanned the street, wondering who could be calling her.
"Tzuyuuuuuu, up here!" The voice calls out again, this time with a hint of mischief. Tzuyu's gaze shifts upward, and to her surprise, she spots a mischievous grin peeking out from the window of the apartment building across the street.
Tzuyu couldn't help but smile at the sight. She waves enthusiastically and calls out, "Good morning, Sana!"
Sana beams and waves back before disappearing momentarily, only to reappear on the balcony. She jumps in place, her giggles echoing through the air, causing the leaves of nearby plants to rustle and the petals of flowers to dance in response to her joyful movements.
"You're up early!" Tzuyu laughs, bringing a hand up to her face to shield her eyes from the bright morning sun. One eye closed and the other squinted as she watches Sana's lively display across the street.
"It's 9 am, that's so late!" Sana yells back teasingly. Then, with genuine concern, she adds, "Did you have breakfast? Let me bring you something."
Before Tzuyu could even protest, Sana vanished in an instant, leaving her standing there with a bemused expression. She chuckled to herself, knowing that once Sana had set her mind to something, there was no stopping her.
Tzuyu returned to the flower shop and busied herself with preparing the cash register, deftly pressing buttons and adding some money to it. As she worked, she heard Sana's cheerful greeting from the doorway, accompanied by the sound of her partner trailing behind, still half-asleep.
"Tzuyu!" Sana exclaimed, her voice bubbling with energy as she entered the shop, a lunchbox in hand. Her partner followed, rubbing their eyes and yawning, clearly not quite as awake as Sana.
"I didn't need breakfast, I had my lunch already," Tzuyu said with a chuckle, still accepting the breakfast from Sana's hands. Sana shrugged nonchalantly, her bright smile unwavering as she went around the counter to give Tzuyu a big hug. It was as if it was the first time seeing her in weeks, even though they had worked together just yesterday.
Tzuyu returned the hug warmly, feeling the genuine affection in Sana's embrace.
"You need to eat, Tzu," Sana semi-fake scolded, hugging her tighter until Tzuyu couldn't breathe. Tzuyu laughed, trying to wriggle free from Sana's tight embrace.
"Okay, okay, I'll eat," Tzuyu managed to gasp out between giggles, playfully pushing Sana away. "But next time, go easy on the hugs, will you?"
Sana grinned mischievously, releasing Tzuyu from her grasp. "No promises!" she teased, her laughter echoing through the flower shop.
Tzuyu leaned on the counter and sighed happily, feeling the warmth of the morning sunlight streaming through the windows. She glanced over at Sana's partner, who still seemed half-asleep, and couldn't help but wonder.
"Why is your partner here when they clearly want to be in bed still?" Tzuyu asked with a playful smirk, raising an eyebrow at Sana.
Sana chuckled, shaking her head. "They insisted on tagging along after I mentioned I was coming to see you. Can't resist your charm, I suppose," she replied, going back to her partner and nudging them gently with her elbow.
"But no, seriously," Sana interjected, her expression turning sincere. "We were planning to go on a morning walk, but we wanted to let you know that we'll help you for tonight's round."
Tzuyu shook her head with a smile. "No need, I can handle it alone. Besides, you're both off on weekends, remember?"
Sana and her partner exchanged a glance, understanding Tzuyu's insistence but still wanting to offer their assistance.
"We know, but we enjoy helping out," Sana replied. "And it's not like we have anything urgent planned for today anyway."
Tzuyu considered their words for a moment before relenting. "Alright, you two win," she said with a laugh. "But only if you promise to relax and enjoy the rest of your evening after this."
"No promises!"
"Sana!"
~~~
As closing time approached, Tzuyu smiled contentedly as she placed the unsold flowers in the cart, proud of the bouquets she had meticulously crafted throughout the day. Each arrangement was a labor of love, a symphony of colors and scents designed to brighten someone's day. Something about the thought of someone enjoying her floral art made her heart melt with joy and satisfaction.
Placing the last flower in the cart, Tzuyu noticed from the corner of her eye Sana and her partner approaching the store, hand in hand and giggling at each other. They seemed so happy, the way Sana was always smiling as bright as the sun, lavishing affection onto her partner... Tzuyu couldn’t help but feel a pang of longing as she watched the gentle kiss the partner gave to Sana’s forehead.
"Tzuyu!" Sana exclaimed for the umpteenth time that day as she swung open the door of the shop, the wind chime signaling her entry. "Ready to give away the flowers?" Sana asked, holding her partner's hand and bringing them closer to her, hugging their waist.
Tzuyu nodded and let her lover grab the cart, pushing it out of the store. She locked the door behind and began her stroll with them, excited to give away the last flowers of the day to passersby and neighbors.
They encountered various familiar faces on their stroll. They handed out flowers to people returning home from work, bringing smiles to tired faces and warmth to familiar hearts. Among them was the old couple from the restaurant down the street, who had always welcomed them with open arms and kind words.
As they exchanged with the elderly couple, Tzuyu couldn’t help but admire the enduring love and companionship between them. The way they looked at each other with affection and shared a gentle touch spoke volumes of the bond they shared after so many years together. It was a reminder of the beauty and magic of love, both young and old.
They kept walking and they reached the apartment building a few blocks away, where a "For Sale" sign had recently been replaced with a "Sold" one, indicating new residents.
Sana knocked on the door cheerfully, her partner standing by her side. After a moment, the door opened, revealing a figure framed in the warm glow of the hallway light. Tzuyu's breath caught in her throat as she laid eyes on the person who stood before her – a captivating smile playing on their lips, eyes sparkling with curiosity and kindness.
"Hello, we're your neighbors from down the street," Sana greeted warmly, holding out a bouquet of flowers. "Welcome to the neighborhood!"
Tzuyu's breath caught in her throat as she laid eyes on the newcomer. Time seemed to stand still as she took in their captivating smile, the way their eyes sparkled with genuine warmth and kindness. It was as if the world had faded away, leaving only the two of them in that moment.
"Hello," you replied, your voice soft and melodious, sending a shiver down Tzuyu's spine. "Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I'm Y/N."
Tzuyu felt her cheeks flush as she returned the greeting, her heart pounding with an intensity she had never felt before. "I-I'm Tzuyu," she stammered, momentarily lost for words under your enchanting gaze.
Sana nudged Tzuyu gently, breaking her out of her reverie. "We brought you some flowers to brighten up your new home," she said with a warm smile, bringing the bouquet closer to you.
Your eyes lit up with delight as you accepted the flowers, you gratitude evident in every word of thanks you uttered.
"We pass by every Saturday to give away the extra flowers that were left untouched, so be prepared for a delivery, from Tzuyu," Sana says, accentuating her name as she bows gracefully.
Tzuyu feels her cheeks flush at Sana's playful emphasis, grateful for her friend's support and encouragement. She can't help but steal a glance at you, hoping to catch a glimpse of your reaction. As your eyes meet, Tzuyu offers a shy smile, her heart racing.
"I can't wait to have beautiful flowers in my home every week," you say, bowing back and smiling warmly at Tzuyu.
She feels her heart swell with joy at your response, her smile widening until her dimples are showing. "I'll make sure to pick out the best ones for you," she replies, her voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.
Gosh... You're the prettiest flower.
Tzuyu had never been one to eagerly anticipate going home after work. She cherished her time at the flower shop so much that the thought of leaving was often bittersweet. But after meeting you... She had never wanted to clock out so badly before. Every day, she found herself counting down the minutes until closing time, her heart racing with excitement at the thought of seeing you again.
Tzuyu found herself taking the quickest route on her bike, hoping to catch a glimpse of you as she passed by your place. She would pedal a little faster, her heart racing with anticipation, as she approached the familiar building where you lived. Sometimes she would slow down, pretending to adjust something on her bike just to linger a little longer, hoping that you would appear at the window or step outside.
But it wasn't just the daily bike rides that occupied Tzuyu's thoughts. Every morning, before opening the flower shop, she would carefully select the healthiest and prettiest flowers from the inventory and leave them at your doorstep, disregarding the Saturday giveaway rule altogether. It didn't matter to her that it was against the usual routine; all she cared about was brightening your day with a small gesture of love and affection.
And though she never expected anything in return, Tzuyu couldn't deny the flutter of excitement in her chest every time she imagined your reaction upon finding the flowers. It was a small, simple joy that brought her immense happiness, knowing that she was making a difference in your life, one flower at a time.
~~~
"Tzuyu is in loooveeee," Sana sings, a playful lilt to her voice, as she locks the door behind herself and Tzuyu, closing up the flower shop for the day. A small breeze sweeps by, causing Tzuyu to shiver involuntarily. Without hesitation, Sana reaches for her scarf and gently wraps it around Tzuyu's neck, offering warmth and comfort.
Tzuyu feels her cheeks flush at Sana's teasing remark, her heart skipping a beat at the thought of you. "Oh, hush," she mumbles shyly behind the scarf, her voice barely audible.
Sana grins mischievously, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Don't worry, Tzuyu. It's written all over your face," she says, nudging her playfully.
Tzuyu's cheeks grow even warmer at Sana's observation, but she can't help but smile. Despite her shyness, she feels a sense of happiness bubbling up inside her, knowing that her feelings for you are no longer a secret. With Sana's support and encouragement, she feels more confident than ever to embrace this newfound love and all the adventures that come with it.
As they walk side by side, Sana accompanies Tzuyu for a short while, matching her stride as Tzuyu walks with her bicycle beside her. Tzuyu's helmet sits crookedly on her head, not properly attached but serving as a charming accessory nonetheless.
When they reach a quieter stretch of the road, Tzuyu finally musters up the courage to ask, "How did you know?"
Sana grins mischievously, glancing sideways at Tzuyu. "Oh, I have my ways," she says cryptically before letting out a playful laugh.
Tzuyu raises an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Seriously, though. How?"
Sana chuckles, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, let's just say I noticed a few missing flowers in the inventory," she admits, her tone teasing. "And when I put two and two together, it wasn't hard to figure out."
Tzuyu's cheeks flush with embarrassment, but she can't help but smile at Sana's astuteness. "I guess I'm not as subtle as I thought," she says sheepishly.
Sana nudges her playfully. "Don't worry, Tzuyu. Your secret's safe with me," she says, her tone turning more serious. "But you know, if you're serious about Y/N, you might want to consider making them work on weekends too. You know, in exchange for all those missing flowers," she adds with a wink, her tone laced with humor.
Tzuyu rolls her eyes, but a smile tugs at the corners of her lips. "Yeah, yeah. I'll keep that in mind," she says, her heart fluttering at the thought of spending more time with you, both at work and outside of it.
"Tzuyu!" She freezes at the sound of the voice, her heart pounding in her chest. She refuses to turn around, a mixture of embarrassment and apprehension swirling inside her. When she realizes her entourage, she glances at Sana, who stands beside her with a proud expression, shrugging as if to say, "Yep, I did it."
Tzuyu's eyes widen in disbelief. There's no way Sana just set her up like this. She feels a mixture of gratitude and annoyance towards her friend, unsure whether to thank her for her boldness or scold her for meddling in her personal life. But deep down, Tzuyu knows that Sana only has her best interests at heart, even if her methods are sometimes unconventional.
Taking a deep breath, Tzuyu finally turns around to face the source of the voice, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment but her heart filled with a newfound sense of courage.
"Y/n," Tzuyu breathes, feeling her cheeks flush with warmth as she removes her helmet, her heart pounding in her chest.
Sana chuckles mischievously, shooting Tzuyu a knowing look. "I'll let you both be," she says with the most devilish smile, her tone playful as she winks at Tzuyu. "My love is waiting for me for dinner."
Tzuyu can't help but roll her eyes at Sana's teasing, but she feels a surge of gratitude towards her friend for giving her the push she needed. With a nod of appreciation, she watches as Sana walks away, leaving her alone with you, your shared laughter echoing in the air.
As she stands before you, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation, she can't help but notice the soft blush that colors your cheeks and the sparkle in your eyes. It's a look that Tzuyu has come to recognize all too well – one of affection and admiration, one she has seen countless times between Sana and her partner.
You feel it too.
Feeling a surge of courage, she takes a step closer to you, her own cheeks flushed with warmth.
"Tzuyu," you begin, your voice gentle and warm, "I want you to know that I've noticed the flowers you've been leaving at my doorstep. And... well, they've meant the world to me."
Tzuyu's breath catches in her throat at your confession, her heart soaring with hope and joy. "Really?" she whispers, unable to conceal the hopefulness in her voice.
You nod, a shy smile playing on your lips. "Yes, really," you reply gently. "You have a way of brightening up even the darkest days, Tzuyu. And I... I really appreciate it.
A bashful smile graces your lips, and you reach into your pocket, pulling out a single dandelion. "I'm sorry, Tzuyu," you say softly, your voice tinged with self-doubt. "I know it's not as beautiful as the flowers you give me. Dandelions are just weeds, and they're pretty useless..."
But before you can finish your sentence, Tzuyu cuts you off with a gentle peck on the cheek, causing you to freeze in surprise. A radiant smile spreads across your face, her eyes shining with happiness as bright as the sun.
Tzuyu takes the dandelion from your hand, her heart swelling with affection. "Thank you for the flower, y/n," she says sincerely, her voice filled with warmth. "I'll cherish it just as much as any other flower."
"And you know," Tzuyu adds, a playful twinkle in her eyes as she grabs your hand and caresses it tenderly, "you might have to work on weekends with me. Sana might've noticed the missing flowers."
You chuckle softly, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "And it's my fault?" you tease, raising an eyebrow in mock innocence.
Tzuyu groans playfully and bites her lip. "I'll repay you with cute dates?" she offers, her voice laced with mischief.
You pretend to consider her proposition for a moment before grinning. "Deal," you say, sealing your agreement with a tender kiss to her dimpled cheek.
(Sana screeches with delight from behind a nearby bush, pulling on her partner's arm eagerly. "This is so much better than dinner! God, I love love," she exclaims, her voice filled with glee before stealing a quick kiss to her lover's lips)
And flowers still went missing many days after that.

Tumblr media
You don’t know if she noticed you.
The minutes passed by, and so did she; a few times. You watched from your seat as you waited for your name to be called, various scenes from silly incidents to more serious ones, old people to kids...
The place was bustling, you could feel your head getting heavier, only keeping it up just in case Mina appeared. She seemed busy, focused. She must have a lot on her mind.
How selfish would it be to wish you were on it too?
You wondered, feeling the familiar tug at your heart when she took the time to reassure a little girl across the room. You could make out the tears staining her cheeks despite how far you were sitting, and witnessed how quickly the dried up under Mina’s gentle voice.
How wrong would it be to feel jealous?
You shook the ridiculous thought away, just in time to hear your name finally get called out. The voice was familiar, but not the one you were hoping for. Sweet, but not enough.
Your gaze left Mina’s figure to meet her dear friend’s, a nurse you’d gotten to know more than the one you heart longed for. She let you call her by her name, but only if you promised not to overstep the set of obvious boundaries that came with it.
You gave your word, although it was tempting to take it back. Everytime Dahyun assisted in your care, you fought the need to ask her anything about Mina. You only faltered once, anesthesia having gotten the best of you after a long set of stitches.
You had the decency to wait until Mina stepped out of the room before asking about her love life. That’s how Dahyun came to know of this… mess of emotions between the two of you.
She never answered you, but she did have questions to which she tried to pull the answers to from Mina herself a few hours later.
Nearly a year later now, and she was still trying. Pieced a few of them together over time and rare, quiet wine drunken nights, but it was nowhere near enough to uncover the reasons.
The ones behind your visits, not your interest in her best friend. She has glasses but she’s not blind.
Although she did wonder what still had you so hung up after years.
If you knew yourself, you probably wouldn’t be in this mess.
“Do you guys have lunch breaks?" Your voice was quiet in an attempt to conceal how awkward you felt.
You were sat on a similar table as your last time here, only surrounded by proper walls this time. Still as blank and unstimulating, letting your mind roam free and back to Mina.
Dahyun paused in her tasks.
This was her third time seeing you, and it was the first time you’d spoken to her without her needing to pull the words out of you.
She cleared her throat, setting down the tools she’d just used to get your cast off. "We do.” She answered hesitantly. “Why wouldn't we?"
The room fell silent once again as you gazed at your weakened arm, turning her question rhetorical. Dahyun only chuckled at the sight before offering some reassurance, "I'm going to show you a few rehabilitation exercises. Your arm will be back to normal in no time."
You simply nodded, your eyes glued to the foreign feeling in your limb. "Do I need to rest it?"
Dahyun’s eyebrows furrowed at your question, but kept her curiosity to herself. Not everyone has her knowledge, she tended to forget it so she cut you some slack although something in her itched to be nosy.
She watched as you tentatively moved your arm, clenching your fist as if trying to regain familiarity with it. "Just avoid putting excessive strain on it.” She finally said, causing you to stop. “No intense use for a couple of weeks, and it should be fine."
"A couple weeks..." You muttered. This wasn’t good. Money was getting short. “Can I have some paper and a pen?”
It was getting hard to do, but Dahyun concealed her confusion again before fulfilling your request, observing as you used your weakened hand to scribble something barely legible.
“Does that count as exercise?" You playfully questioned, causing Dahyun to chuckle.
“It could, yeah." She nodded and you smiled, glancing back at your writing before handing it to her.
“Hopefully she can read it.”
You don’t need to say anything else. Not even her name. Dahyun knew who you were referring to.
You were sure of it, but she managed to make you second guess - yourself and your own intentions - when she tensed up in front of you.
Her hand didn’t reach for the piece you offered of yourself. As futile and impersonal as it was, you couldn’t help but take offense at her doubts.
“Please.” You muttered. It was pathetic. It felt like it too. But it was worth the discomfort if it meant convincing the woman standing before you. Her silence was painful, it almost made you laugh. She wasn’t even the one you were trying to reach.
Were you even allowed to feel so troubled yet?
Rightfully so. Dahyun took forever to make up her mind, staring long enough for your arm to fatigue.
Part of her didn’t want to enable and push her best friend into what looked like a hopeless abyss. Mina deserved much more. She deserved something safer, easier than whatever you brought to the table.
Then again this wasn’t her place to say. This wasn’t her game to play.
She just hoped Mina wouldn’t dismiss its risks.
Mina looked down at the paper in her hand, her features tensed in a mix of surprise and apprehension as she processed the words she’d managed to decipher.
« I’ll try really hard not to visit ever again, so if you ever miss me and have a moment to spare : xx xxx xxx. »
She took the numbers in as they slowly burned themselves into her mind. She tried to suppress that small hope within her as it prayed you’d written them well enough.
Needless to say it was a vain attempt. Her thoughts were scattered and she struggled to compose herself.
“What are you going to do?" Dahyun's voice broke an eerie silence that had settled itself in the break room, and Mina exhaled softly, her gaze lingering on your message.
"I'm not sure," she admitted, meeting Dahyun’s eyes. "It's complicated, you know that."
Dahyun nodded, understanding. Or at least she hoped it came across as because quite frankly she had no idea.
It was complicated, yes, but for her, the next step was a no-brainer.
"Maybe it's worth considering," she offered, her words gentle. “Just don’t do anything stupid.”
That pulled a chuckle out of the black haired woman next to her. “Like what?”
“I don’t know, but someone who needs to be stitched up every few months can’t not be involved in something dumb or careless.” Dahyun pointed out, but it only amused Mina even more. “I’m serious.” The nurse chuckled despite herself, “Something’s not right.”
“I can take care of myself.” Mina reassured, “I’m sure it’s nothing too bad. Careless maybe, but not dumb either.”
“How would you know?” Dahyun probed as Mina piqued at the nosiest part of her.
Mina only shrugged though, considering the paper in her hand. The weight of your message briefly pulled her thoughts back to the unspoken moments, the lingering emotions that built and shaped this odd link between the two of you.
"Just a feeling.”
“Looking to kill your winning streak?”
The coach’s voice resonated in the warehouse and you huffed out a breath, keeping your eyes from rolling back into your brain only to look at him instead. “What are you being so shy for? Hit it, damn it!”
You stayed silent, your jaw clenched shut to keep the thoughts in your head. The punching bag still swung back and forth behind you as you reached for the small bottle of water he was handing you.
The small ‘thank you’ you mumbled was enough for him to get off your back about respect and whatnot, but he still clung onto it about your arm.
“It’s been weeks, Y/n, you’ve had plenty of time to recover, come on…” He said, opting for a more gentle approach.
The switch up didn’t surprise you. He wasn’t exactly stable, but he was good at his job. Good enough to run this whole thing smoothly. You’d respect him if he weren’t so corrupt, pulling at big kids desperate enough for life to ruin it for them. People like you. Exposing them, showing them off in a violent spectacle only the richest could afford to enjoy.
The scheme was vicious. Designed to make staying in the only way out. To make him the only one you could turn to when life’s biggest troubles got too big to ignore.
He knew you well enough by now to know the gentle card wouldn’t work, but that’s also how he knew he had to give it a shot anyway. If not take action, you could open up.
You could, but you wouldn’t. Not to him. Your relationship didn’t allow it, as much as he tried to shape it that way over the years. Not that he was pushing it, he was decently nice. He cared. Just not enough.
You could feel it in the way he watched you, silent while his eyes questioned whatever you did he didn’t understand - which was almost always linked to whatever didn’t fill his pockets.
The edge of the ring pushed into your thighs as you took a seat there, staring into the space in front of you. Your gaze was vacant, you could feel yourself zone out, thoughts begging to drown into your heart and its selfish desire to burn over Mina’s absence; but the coach shaking his head kept you over the surface.
Seeing you space out was new, but he didn’t like how familiar the sight was getting.
You expected his rough tone to spit at you any second, but he surprisingly stayed calm. Too calm. So your eyes left the void to check on him, and his demeanor was all but reassuring.
You could feel his impatience grow by the second, the frustration practically radiating from him was off-putting, but the silence… It was as scary as it was encouraging.
“I need more time.” You finally said.
The words didn’t please him. They didn’t make you happy either. You’d love to be able to hit that bag as you used to just months ago.
“We can’t do that. People are damn near jumping the fence to see you fight, Y/n, you have to come back.”
“They’ll be fine.” You brushed off, feeling the guilt slowly weigh off your shoulders at the desperation in his voice. Something about hearing him beg, even implicitly.
You suddenly rose to your feet, feeling yourself growing wings as you clung onto the third rope of the ring. Entertaining the conversation seemed pointless, so you turned your back on him to get back to training. Something he made sure to prove as a mistake... He didn’t hesitate to burn those wings at the first sight of them.
He never did.
“But you won’t.” You heard him say. The words were heavy, probably because of how fast he’d thrown them at you.
Your features twitched, eyebrows creasing as you tried to argue, “I’m not ready.”
The weakness was bitter, obvious and unfair. Unfitting for a moneymaker like you. If anything you should be the one dictating things.
Yet he somehow always kept the reigns.
“You never were.”
His last words ran laps in your mind.
As hard as you tried to alter their course, nothing seemed to stop them. Nothing seemed to change.
The following days melted into themselves, fogging your memory with nothing but defeat.
You felt disoriented. Hopeless. Hurt. Yet somewhat motivated by it all. Problem was you had no goal to put it into.
This fighting thing proved itself to be nothing but a fickle string of glory. A glory you failed to even enjoy. Sure, the underground and illegal part of it didn’t help, but everyone around you seemed to do just fine.
Maybe you’ll ask them about it tomorrow. How they do it. For now you paced around the room, searching for a solution, only for your brain to come up with thoughts of her. You’d long passed the point of it being and feeling pathetic, surrendering to the insanity of the situation. Your soul yearned for the sense of peace she brought with her mere presence, and her absence was suffocating.
Why? It’s not like you were close. All she did was flirt back, it was no reason to get so attached.
You felt insane. Out of mind. All because of that bridge you’d humiliated yourself into trying to hold together.
Maybe giving her your number was a mistake. Maybe you’d have been better off keeping your distance.
Crossing those rarely ever was good.
Later that day, your apartment was cloaked in a hushed ambiance, the only source of light emanating from the soft glow of the TV screen as you absently filled up on what felt like a last meal.
A light, protein heavy collation you had no pleasure in swallowing. The only reason you were doing so was not to pass out mid-fight the next day.
You couldn’t go back to her. Not there.
So you folded into the old routine, only finding comfort in your favorite show playing in the background. It was a nice, fleeting distraction from the weight of your impending return to the fight club.
The night was slowly falling silent outside your walls. Your plate emptied itself slowly as episodes followed each other with few breaks in between. You nearly fell asleep from the monotony of it all, but the sound of your phone vibrating against the table jolted you back to full consciousness.
The screen had lit itself up, drawing tyour attention to the screen. An unknown number and a message that only made sense after connecting a few dots.
« I have a moment. »
Mina's words, a lifeline in the midst of this mounting anxiety.
Your fingers hovered over the screen, the weight of your feelings pulling them down to write and erase every word that came to mind before settling on a much simpler approach.
« Would you mind if I called? »
On the other side of the screen, Mina’s heart fluttered much to her dismay. Needless to say she was apprehensive, eyes fixated on your text while its content resonated in her mind. It stirred a few feelings she’d kept away and guarded for far too long now.
She wasn’t sure if she wanted to, but she knew she had to try. She owed it to herself. She’d risked too much, jeopardized too much of her sanity over you to leave without answers.
So she called.
This type of adrenaline was nothing compared to the one you got in the ring. The ring, it was cold. Chilling. The things you did, that you’ve done to get to where you were… It was a rush you were getting used to.
This one was different. Warm. Thrilling. It was new. A rush you looked forward to. No matter how much you denied yourself it.
“Hello?” You spoke into the phone after raising it to your ear. The line was silent for a second before you heard the soft timbre of her voice greeting you back.
Three weeks was the shortest time you’d gone without hearing it yet there you were; practically giggling to yourself over the few words you managed to exchange. The first ones that didn’t revolve around an injury or her scolding you for using her first name.
You made sure not to use it though, as you told her about this colorful place you liked to hang at. It wasn’t the most vibrant, but you found the atmosphere to be fitting for a talk. Cute even, if you’d dared to say.
Mina couldn’t help the flutter of her heart, the burning in her veins traveling all the way to her cheeks as she listened to you trying not to stutter over your words as you basically asked her out.
She could - and she would - have agreed to meet you in the following second, but something held her back, unlike the words pouring out of her mouth with no control, “Sounds lovely. But I don’t know…”
A small silence took over the line as you thought, “What… do you mean you don’t know?”
“It’s just that…” Mina sighed, “The hospital—”
“I’m not a patient anymore, Mina.” You cut her off, desperately clinging onto the small opening. Mina could sense that, letting her frustration slip into her tone.
“Yes, but for how long?” Another silence. Heavier this time. Longer. “We can’t know, right?”
Mina’s voice rung through the line, startling a thought you’d been dying to voice out to her.
“You can’t, but you do know something.”
“What?”
“You know exactly why I can’t make sure to never come back.” You partially confessed in hopes she would understand. “Don’t act dumber than you are, Dr. Mina.”
“That’s the thing, Y/n. I’m not.” She sighed. “I’m not. I don’t know why you show up in such states, I shouldn’t want to know as bad as I do, but something about you makes me—”
Mina stopped herself, realizing what her words were leading to. Somewhere a little too real and raw too quickly. She fought the tears begging to relieve her frustrations, and opted for another sigh. One soft, barely noticeable and far too weak to have any effect on her state of mind.
“It feels like I’m playing with fire.”
For the first time since you’d heard it, the sound of her voice hurt. You could tell how much it cost her to say those words. Just above a whisper, tainted by the shadows of her unshed tears. Ever so softly, like it would glide over the lines, the cracks staining the distance and reach you with no consequences.
“Listen…” You started. “I know you’ve been… curious about me. I know you’ve made your guesses, your bets, and I don’t know what those are. I can’t say I don’t care, because I do, but I have enough self-awareness to know they’re not the most positive.”
You paused in order to gather your thoughts. The next words you’d utter felt like the most important of your life. How worthless had it been… “I feel crazy just asking you this - I’ll understand if you don’t want to, but… I just want to see you. Talk to you, anything that’s not you fixing me up.”
There was a small silence again. It’s agonizing, not being able to tell where this was going. All you could do was wait. You were tired of it was suddenly worth it all. The pain, the silence, the longing. The quiet tears you let go off in the dark, the memories and wonders of her gentle soul tormenting you days after your stays.
“I want to see you too.”

look at me! look at me!
a/n: @sanccharine apologies for the late fic... 🧍‍♀️ but it's done and it's fluffy!! everyone say yay!! happy late birthday, my friend ❤️
tw: alcohol consumption, paladin schemes, poor taste in party games
related fics: sorry for party rockin'!, we're never getting back together (like ever?)
♡ Masterlist ♡
summary: you invite chou tzuyu, a girl you know nothing yet everything about, over for a quiet night of studying. things don't go to plan as you're invited to a party and forced to reveal your feelings for each other in a not-so-glamorous way.
Tumblr media
You usually don't have time for parties. With classes, hobbies, and friends in the mix, you're squeezed for time on a regular basis. Although you try to find time to go out and have fun, life usually has other plans for you.
So here you are, 6 p.m. on a Saturday, doing homework for a class.
What a life.
Your phone rings with a familiar tone. You didn't have one set for most of your contacts except the Paladins, your family, and Chou Tzuyu.
Since the sound emanating from your phone is one of Hongjoong's mixtapes that he sent to you, you know exactly who's calling you.
"Hey, Tzuyu," You answer the phone before pausing your typing at your computer, "what's up?"
"Do you mind if I come over and study? There's so much noise at the house, I can't concentrate-"
"No problem," You answer quickly, albeit a bit too quickly for friendly chatter, "You need a ride?"
"Yeah, that'd be great. Are you sending an Uber?"
"Nah, I'll ask Katie. She won't mind." You pull the phone away from your ear after turning on speaker mode.
Although Katie was the affectionate boomer hater, she'd gladly bend over backward to please you. You often wished that she'd take care of herself as well as she took care of you... but you didn't mind using your "Katie's Favorite Paladin" privileges every now and again.
You hear Tzuyu sigh as something in the background hits a wall and shatters.
"I'll be there in fifteen minutes. See you then."
Ever the punctual woman, Tzuyu ends the phone call before you can engage in any friendly chatter. You wonder if you'd even call yourself friends - sure, you two hang out a lot, but all you talk about is classes, homework, or your friends' stupid antics.
You want to know more about her - who is Chou Tzuyu, really?
And why do you have a crush on her?
~
"Thanks for letting me study here tonight. If I had to mediate another fight, I would've lost it." Tzuyu mumbles as she unloads her stationary onto your desk.
You grab a chair from another room before moving your shit to the side. She offers you a smile before opening her laptop as you sit down and start to work on your own things.
"Hey, you two need anything?" Katie peeks into the room as you two look up at her.
"I'm good, thanks." Tzuyu says as you nod.
"Since you pre-made some snacks for us, I'm alright."
"You didn't have to-"
"No, it's no trouble, Dami called me earlier and I've been making food since. I trust that you two will leave some leftovers." Katie pushes away Tzuyu's concern before grabbing a set of car keys. "If you two change your mind, the party's only a block away. Feel free to walk over and join the rest of human civilization."
With that, Katie heads out of the apartment, leaving you and Tzuyu to your own devices.
~
"Do you want to order a pizza or something?" You ask as you close your computer.
Katie's pre-made snacks are now nothing but crumbs - perhaps you can shoulder the blame to King again?
Yet again, Katie and Tzuyu were friends, so she'd hopefully let it slide.
"I'm full, thanks." As always, she doesn't offer any friendly chatter.
Tzuyu quietly packs up her things, but she doesn't make any effort to leave the apartment. Neither do you, but you can't find the words to say in order to engage in any meaningful conversation.
"Are you in the mood for some hell-raising?" You ask as you grab your phone. "I don't know if parties are your style, but the Paladins make them fun for everyone."
"I'll go if you do." She softly says as you grab your jacket.
"Let's get going, then."
(You really need to work on your conversational skills.)
~
The party was already hectic when the two of you arrived. People were already drunk (people being two of the three older Paladins - at least Neon had his shit together).
"I thought this was supposed to be 'an intimate gathering among friends'?" Tzuyu quips as she leans against the door.
"Word gets out fast, I guess." You shrug before making your way towards the kitchen. "Katie?"
"In here!" She yells over the buzz of the crowd as the two of you file into the kitchen. "I'm a bit busy, but I'm glad you could make it. Feel free to mingle if you two would like. Oh, and could you two keep an eye on King and Sparrow for me?"
"I thought that was Neon's job?" You ask as Katie scoffs.
"First off, he's terrible at that job because he usually gets drunk with them. Second, he and Siyeon went to get more booze," Katie smiles to herself before adding, "I'll have to thank Ryujjn later for hiding the rest of the booze."
"You're such a little shit-"
"-I prefer the term matchmaker, thank you very much." Katie corrects you. "Now go find the other boomers before they fuck up my plan."
"You have a plan?" Tzuyu tilts her head as Katie laughs.
"Oh, I always have a plan."
~
"Because I'd rather not have to get infected by a parasite to get your attention. Being bitten by a vampire sounds less painful." Tzuyu says before you cough into your drink.
After hustling the crowd for a little bit of money, since you know how drunk Sparrow and King can get, Katie invites the gawking crowd to play another game.
"How about we play Spin the Bottle?"
It was a terrible idea, really, since tempers had already been flaring a bit. But what was wrong with a little more chaos?
You had joined the small crowd that was headed towards another part of the living room. You noticed some familiar faces - Katie, Jinsoul, Dami, Ryujin, and Heejin, among others - but Tzuyu hung back from the crowd.
"Come on over and observe the chaos. You don't have to play." You mouth to her as you make eye-contact with her.
"Are you sure that you don't mind me watching?" She says as you nod to her.
She walks over as people start to make another circle - this one is more messy, but you take a seat in between Katie and Ryujin.
Katie takes the bottle and slides it towards Jinsoul on the other side of the circle.
"You should go first since you didn't get to play Truth or Drink." Katie smiles at Jinsoul, who eagerly grabs the bottle from the floor.
"Let's make this party interesting." She spins the bottle as Tzuyu takes a seat behind the seated circle.
You find yourself holding your breath as you watch the bottle spin around and around on the floor. Nervousness develops in your stomach - not because you're nervous about kissing one of the girls, but you're more nervous about kissing a girl in front of Tzuyu.
You weren't sure exactly what the two of you were - friends? in the talking stage? two acquaintances? study buddies? somewhere in-between?
But she always made time to see you. Between her extracurriculars and the hefty class schedule, Tzuyu had little time to spare. You didn't fail to notice that she didn't have homework to work on when you agreed to study together. You'd even catch her staring at you sometimes, when she didn't catch you first.
You never called each other friends or anything more, but you want to know more about Chou Tzuyu. What were you doing together when you didn't even know what you were to each other?
You're playing with fire when you talk to Tzuyu. You fall deeper for her, unsure if she feels the same way.
Now, as the bottle slows down, it feels like the flames are burning you alive.
But you're lucky as it lands on Heejin, who happily accepts a cheek kiss from her friend.
This was a truly terrible idea, you think to yourself, as Heejin grabs the bottle and spins it.
Maybe you'll make it out of this without ruining whatever you have with Tzuyu, or without embarrassing yourself.
~
Of course, nothing was ever that simple.
Heejin's spin landed on Yeji, who drunkenly chased the former around until a kiss was successfully planted on Heejin's forehead.
Yeji, after three failed attempts, managed to spin the bottle enough for it to land on Ryujin. Cheers erupted as the first lip-to-lip contact was made.
Then the drama starts as Ryujin spins the bottle and it lands to your right.
The neck of the bottle points directly at Katie, who stares in shock before leaning over to look at Ryujin.
You feel like you're in-between something serious as Dami, on the other side of the circle, looks on with curiosity.
Ryujin moves to the side before pulling Katie close. The two share a quick kiss before returning to their spots. Katie takes the bottle in her hands, but she quickly shakes her head and hands it back to Ryujin.
"You should go again. It's only fair since you didn't get to play earlier." Katie says as Ryujin nods in agreement.
"Sounds good to me." Ryujin spins the bottle as Katie nervously bites her lip while staring at a single spot on the floor.
You offer her a sympathetic pat on the back that helps relax her a bit.
Katie sighs in relief before muttering, "I knew things were going to get tense, but I was hoping that I would be outside of the drama."
You smile to yourself as the shenanigan-making Paladin gets bitten in the ass by a product of her own design.
"You shouldn't have played with fire if you didn't want to get burned." You tease as she scoffs.
"That's why I wanted to sit next to Ryujin. The bottle never lands on the person next to the spinner." She says as the bottle Ryujin spins on lands on you.
"I wish the situational irony was less subtle." You grumble as Katie offers you a quick side hug.
"You shouldn't have played with fire if you didn't want to get burned~"
"Very funny." You roll your eyes as you face Ryujin.
"I get to kiss two Paladins in one night? I should buy a lottery ticket or something." Ryujin smirks before leaning in to kiss you.
You nervously bite your lip before starting to lean in - Tzuyu won't mind, right? It's just a silly children's game.
One that could ruin any chance of you two being more than friends.
Luckily, your lips never meet Ryujin's as Tzuyu hauls you off of your feet and drags you into the kitchen.
"Wait a minute-" You try to protest, but her grip on the back of your shirt is ironclad as she pulls you away from any prying eyes.
A few mutters ring out from the group your left behind, but screams quickly take over as another victim is selected.
"What was that about?" You say as Tzuyu lets go of your shirt.
"I didn't want you to kiss Ryujin."
"Yeah, I figured that one out when you hauled me away from her in a hurry. It's almost like you're the one who wanted to kiss me." You joke, just as you always do with all of your friends.
She looks away from you, towards the window that faces the street.
She's deadly serious.
You feel like a total jerk.
Tzuyu navigates towards the door with disappointment on her face as you trial after her.
"Wait, hold on, I didn't think you seriously liked me-"
"-of course I did! Why else do you think I want to hang out with you and do homework? I don't even have homework half of the time!" She sounds exasperated as she pauses her stride to glance at you.
"I wasn't really sure if we were friends or if you wanted to be more." You offer her your hand, and she takes it. "I'm sorry if I gave mixed signals or if I pushed you away from me. I didn't mean to, at all."
"I'm sorry, too. I didn't mean to pull you away from your friends. I just didn't want you kissing any other girl at this party.." She trails off before you encouragingly squeeze her hand.
"-besides you?" You smile at her. "Don't worry, you're the only one I've thought about kissing all night."
You lean forward and kiss her cheek. Tzuyu offers you a wide smile, one that you've rarely seen.
It's enough to tempt you closer as you pull back and go for her lips this time.
Unfortunately, your bliss is short-lived as Sparrow slams the door open. You and Tzuyu immediately part - she's red in the face as you're trying to wipe her lipstick off your face.
"King got mud on my shoes, that motherfucker!" She screams, completely unaware to your presence. "NEOOOOON!"
She hollers for the oldest Paladin before stumbling into the living room as a mud-clad King walks into the house.
"Have I ever told you about the one time-" He says to absolutely no one before wandering into the kitchen.
Kim Lip follows closely behind, throwing you a wink before shoving King into the kitchen to give you two some privacy.
"Your friends are something, but mine aren't much better." Tzuyu laughs before sliding in next to you. "Shall we rejoin the party?"
"Yeah, otherwise Katie will be making up all sorts of lies about me." You mutter.
"C'mon, lovebirds, join the fun! We swapped games, and Twister's getting pretty intense!" Katie yells as the crowd screams in unison before someone falls to the ground.
It's never uneventful around her, but you don't mind having a slice of normalcy with Tzuyu. Especially since she's holding your hand and kissing your face every once in a while.
Hopefully, the blackmail isn't as bad as what you have on the other Paladins.

tzuyu is the kind of person who makes you feel safe, gives you stability and keeps you grounded. she feels like home. however, she is much more than that, she is an adventurous and passionate person. she is home, but she is also the breath of fresh air that comes in through the window
she has a dual personality and regardless of how well you know her by now, she still surprises you
she is the shyest person you have ever known, but she is also the most shameless.
when you first met her she was timid and quiet, but as she felt comfortable around you and opened up more she started showing her more playful and funny side
it didn't take you long to discover that she has a quick mind when it comes to giving sharp, unexpected, sarcastic and incredibly funny responses
she does it with her friends and on occasion with annoying strangers, and eventually she dared to do it with you as well
she has the ability to read the room and people very well. just by looking at your face she knows when you are happy, when you need space or when you need a hug
this quality allows her to easily fit into all kinds of situations
when tzuyu wants she can go unnoticed the same way she draws all the attention whenever she wants. of course she knows exactly what she has to do to get your attention in a room full of people
she has a bit of a tsundere side. she isn’t the biggest fan of pda, places her hand over your mouth when you come up to kiss her, likes to tease you and whines when you are clingy.
secretly, she enjoys the attention and loves when you baby her.
she prefers subtle displays of affection but when you are alone she’s more affectionate
she plans the best dates. she always comes up with some way to make the dates unique
for example, on your first date she took you to a dog cafe instead of a regular cafe
museums, markets, outdoor painting, picnics, pottery classes or a spa day are the kind of dates she usually organizes for special occasions.
tzuyu’s love language is gift giving. if she sees something that reminds her of you she will just buy it. she also likes giving you things that will remind you of her on your relationships
you already share a few matching bracelets, necklaces, keychains and phone cases
she also loves bringing things that she bakes on special days and when she’s staying over, she never comes empty handed
she has a strange habit of talking to you like her dogs. the first time she did it you almost choked and she almost died of embarrassment, now you are used to it and find it adorable
be careful because she has 8 overprotective unnies who would do anything for tzuyu which you quickly understood since she’s easy to love and awakens the protective instinct of anyone
luckily, getting the love of her dogs was much easier and only took a couple of walks, a few treats and some belly rubs
tzuyu loves visiting new places whether it be traveling to other countries, taking you to her home country or a short trip to the beach or a more rural area
when you two travel she tries as much local food as possible and convinces you to try them as well. then she replicates the dishes she liked at home. lately she has improved a lot and she cooks better and better
she cooks your comfort food when you’re feeling down
she never cries but she is very sensitive when it comes to certain issues that are very important to her, that's why you freaked out when after your first time she cried. it turns out that she realized how much she loves you
nsfw
she is shy and seems innocent, but she is also open to experimenting and wants to try new things
she enjoys vanilla sex as much as she enjoys kinky sex, it depends on the mode you are in.
tzuyu was not the most experienced person and that's why you wanted to go slow but she was dying to get intimate with you
the first time you went made up you had to stop her and tell her to slow down because it was rushed and sloppy, not because of her inexperience, in fact she's a very good kisser, but because of how eager she was
when you kiss her unexpectedly or make a suggestive comment she literally freezes, so it was a surprise for both of you to discover that she leans more to the dominant side
she's a soft and gentle dom, a side she's starting to explore more with you
she loves kissing your face and body when you do it, caressing you and giving you little nibbles
she loves praising you. she uses more petnames during sex than she does in front of people, that's why if you hear her call you ‘princess’ or ‘baby’ in public you can't help but blush
tzuyu is one of the most caring people you know and it's something she shows in bed too
you’re above her shyness and you comfortable and safe, so she’s getting more vocal about asking if you like what she is doing or asking you to guide her when she needs it
she enjoys giving as well as receiving, so she’s quite comfortable being both top and bottom.
she’s not very loud. when she’s bottoming she moans but has the habit of trying to cover her mouth with her hand or her pillow, when she tops she breathes deeply and sometimes you can hear her groans even if she tries to contain herself
she’s a good at kissing and using her mouth, she really enjoys eating you out but she’d rather be on the receiving end
she likes much more fingering you or using a strap, something she had never used before
the first time she put on the strap on she came out of the bathroom completely red and couldn't look you in the face until after a while
now it is something she enjoys very much and has bought a few different dildos so you can have more options
as someone who likes to give gifts, from time to time she gets spicy gifts for both of you like lingerie or a toy she’s curious to try
her other favorite positions are scissoring, 69 and tribbing. it allows her to give and receive pleasure from a dominant position, guiding you with her words and leading you with her movements
something that drives her crazy is making you touch yourself in front of her and guiding you while you do it
for someone who sometimes avoids physical touch she can sometimes be very needy when she really wants to make you feel good and be inside you
she’s curious about bondage. she thinks you would look beautiful tied up unable to move, being at her mercy
she also thinks you would look great with a collar around your neck.
during your vacations she likes doing it in the hotel room, always in the spot with the best view. it doesn't matter if it's the bed, the bathroom or the balcony. she likes to enjoy the view
lately you have tried degradation, spanks and other ways of inflicting light pain. it was a surprise to her how turned on she got from seeing her hands marked on your ass
just like she does with dates she gets creative with aftercare and is always looking for new ways to make you feel good that go beyond cuddles. although, she tries to play it down, she needs a lot of aftercare too, especially when you have tried degradation, bondage or anything that leaves marks on you for a few days

tzuyu’s oblivious to the knocking at her window, her earbuds drowning out everything around her.
you let out a groan. the thought of someone spotting you outside the window and on the small roof makes you anxious. the trees give you some cover, but you can't shake the feeling that you might be seen, especially since you're some girl loitering outside a window, which could easily raise suspicions.
“c’mon chou, just turn to the right…” you mumble to yourself, pouting as you knock once more.
in a desperate attempt to catch her attention, you grab the phone in your pocket, then repeatedly turn the flash on and off until tzuyu’s head perks up.
her reaction is priceless.
she turns away from the book and paper on her desk, tzuyu's attention is suddenly drawn to you, your hand pressed flat against the glass as you bang against it once more. she practically jumps in her seat, her jaw dropping and brows furrowing in confusion and concern as she hurries over to the window.
tzuyu lets you inside, giving you space to climb in.
“what are you doing?” her voiced is hushed and she’s scolding you in a way, watching as you fix the jacket you have on and your loose hair.
you close the window behind you, then lock it.
“i need a reason to see my favorite girl?”
she looks at you unbelievably, “y/n, my parents are still home.” she looks worried now, head turning to glance at the door handle. “you could get caught and i could— no, we could be in serious trouble.”
“i’ll be on my best behavior, i promise. you said they were leaving tonight anyway.”
tzuyu sighs to herself and purses her lip. after seeing the apologetic smile on your face, she decides that she’s going to let you off the hook. she really can’t be mad at you, not when you’ve done all this to see her. it’s kind of very charming, adorable honestly.
she huffs and turns to look at the digital clock above her desk. “they’re leaving in ten minutes, so you better—“
“tzuyu honey! you still studying?”
tzuyu freezes, and so do you as soon as you hear the shout coming from downstairs. her dad’s voice rings throughout the house.
quickly, tzuyu pushes you towards her closet, nearly making you trip along the way. she looks at you with a serious expression, eyes drilling into yours while she keeps a hand on your shoulder.
she whispers in a rushed, cautious manner, “you need to be as quiet as you can, no sound at all. if you ruin this then we’re both—“
"relax, relax, i know," you whisper back, unable to contain the smile spreading across your face. "lips zipped–" you gesture with two fingers pressed against your lips, mimicking the action of zipping them shut. "--now."
she laughs at you like you’re an idiot (her idiot), then looks back at the closed door. quickly, comparable to the speed of a bullet train, she pecks your lips—then pushes you deeper in her closet and shuts the door. you nearly stumble over from how aggressively she shoved you, and the feeling of her lips on yours.
tzuyu fixes her hair, then rushes to sit down at her desk and get back into the position she was in before: eyes focused on the book, pencil in her hand, and earbuds in her ears.
less than a minute later, the door opens. tzuyu pretends to be surprised, turning toward her mom creeping in as she takes an earbud out.
“hey sweetie, studying?”
tzuyu nods. “yeah, were you and dad leaving?”
“mhm.” her mom hums, “your dad was calling you from downstairs, seemed like you didn’t hear.”
“oh, yeah, sorry.” she apologizes, rubbing her neck. “i was just finishing up this history assignment.”
“it’s alright honey, come down and say bye to your father and i.”
“yeah, of course. hold on.” tzuyu responds, watching her mom smile at her before heading out her room.
she steals a glance at the closet, hoping you caught the conversation through the door, before heading downstairs to bid farewell to her parents and tend to her dogs.
-
when tzuyu returns to her room thirty minutes later, she finds you sitting against her bed, scrolling through your phone. a blush spreads across her cheeks, she can't help but find you effortlessly cute in that moment.
as you notice the door opening, you look up at her and offer a warm smile. you're just sitting there in loose sweatpants and a cropped tee, your hair clipped up lazily. still, tzuyu can’t get enough of you.
“welcome back!” you beam, getting up from your spot.
tzuyu rolls her eyes at you playfully before you approach and wrap her in a hug, your arms encircling her neck. you pull back slightly, noses almost touching, and the two of you simply sit there, basking in each other's presence. then, you turn your head and press a gentle kiss against her lips, mumbling against them when you part away.
“you look really hot, by the way.”
tzuyu giggles softly, trying to ignore how bad she wants you right now, then playfully mumbles, "shut up," before leaning in to kiss you once more. her hands find their place on your waist, fingers gently grazing against the skin revealed by your cropped tee, wanting to go further.
the two of you continue to kiss for a while, savoring the intimacy between you. it's something you've always cherished – just the two of you lost in the moment of kissing. whether it's in the girls' bathroom during free periods, in empty classrooms, or your car – literally wherever you find yourselves, the two of you share kisses as if each moment is going to be stripped away from you.
as you deepen the kiss, tzuyu groans, trying to compose herself while you play with her hair and rub your body up against her dangerously close.
you pull away, then hold her face in your hands. “so, what’s the plan for tonight?”
“if someone had texted me that they would be at my window, maybe i’d have one. but im stumped, what do you want to do?”
you take one hand off her face, then use your pointer to tap at your chin. “hmmmm…”
tzuyu chuckles, then quickly steals a kiss from you.
you pout when she pulls away, she giggles again.
your girlfriend's face lights up suddenly. “do you want to watch a movie? what’s that one movie you were rambling about–”
“ten things i hate about you! oh my god, baby we have to, please it’s so adorable.” you plead, looking at her with puppy eyes.
“okay, okay. let me put my stuff away and shower.”
smiling warmly, you gently push tzuyu's hair behind both ears, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks at the sight of her ears sticking out a little more. you then kiss her deeply and nod in agreement, stealing a few more pecks to her face before she heads off to the bathroom.
-
tzuyu finishes showering and sits in her bed, scrolling to find the movie you wanted to watch.
momentarily distracted from her search, tzuyu's attention is captured by the sight of you standing in front of her mirror, concentrating on putting her little butterfly clips in your hair. a smile spreads across her face as she admires you, enjoying the view from the comfort of her bed.
then you turn to her with a toothy smile. “do these look good on me?”
“you look cute.” tzuyu shyly responds, making you laugh.
“not as cute as you.”
“you’re so corny.”
"you're literally in love with me though, so does it matter?" you retort playfully, earning another roll of tzuyu's eyes.
looking into the mirror again, you're struck with an idea. you turn to tzuyu, taking a few steps to the bed and grabbing her hand, pulling her up gently and guiding her in front of the mirror. with a cheeky smile, you take out the clips from your hair and settle tzuyu down on her chair before standing behind her and placing the clips in her hair. she simply lets you take charge, laughing as you work your magic.
“hold this, my hairs getting in the way.” you mumble, handing a clip to tzuyu. you pull your hair up and clip it again, then part her hair again. “also, why didn’t you just tell your parents i was coming over later, you didn’t have to shove me in the closet. we’re out, you know.”
tzuyu giggles at your little joke that you’ve thrown in, then shrugs. “i was just freaking out in the moment. y/n, you showed up at my window, how did you even get up there?”
“don’t question it.”
“whatever.” tzuyu says, feeling you rake a hand through her hair. “besides, what would my parents think about their daughter and her girlfriend alone in their house, no adults in sight. they’ll probably think we’re like, y’know.”
you pause, looking at her through the mirror and quirking a brow. tzuyu widens her eyes a bit, feeling the rush of heat flooding her cheeks.
“are you implying–”
“no– wait–”
"no, you're definitely implying something," you cut her off, a smirk playing on your lips now. with a mischievous glint in your eyes, you spin the chair around, making tzuyu look up at you directly. "what would two girls be 'like, y'know-ing', tzuyu?" you mockingly repeat her words, teasing her further.
your girlfriend shrinks under you, and then her eyes betray her in the moment, looking down at your chest, and then the exposed skin, the curves of your lower torso.
“tzuyu, what are you thinking of? what would they think?”
“i– um,”
“oh my god, you’re adorable.” you sigh, smiling at her. “you think your parents are going to think we’re fucking, don’t you?”
she goes silent, trying to think of an excuse and make up a lie to cover the fact that yeah, she does think that; tzuyu wouldn’t be opposed to actually fucking you either, but she’s far too timid to initiate anything as intimate as that.
your girlfriend doesn’t want to admit the fact that there’s a little pulse in between her legs every time you two make out, too embarrassed to admit how easily you turn her on even if it's just kissing for minutes.
“oh my god, do you think of us fucking then?” you question, raising your brows. “you are, aren’t you?”
tzuyu can barely conjure words, far too embarrassed to and also really horny after hearing the tone of your voice change into a teasing one. she can only nod at your response, tearing her eyes away from you.
"baby, tell me," you begin, enjoying watching her squirm a little. with a pitiful look, you kneel down, meeting her gaze as she looks down at you, biting her lip nervously. your hand gently rubs her thigh, adding to the tension. “do you want to watch that movie or do you want to do something else? what’s on your mind?”
there’s a moisture forming in between tzuyu’s legs when you talk to her like that, when you look at her like that, when you touch her like that.
“i– um, baby, please…”
“please what tzu? you know what, why don’t you tell me on the bed. sit down over there for me will you?”
“y-yeah.” tzuyu chokes out.
now she’s on the bed, looking at you desperately, eagerly. she’s adorable.
you shift yourself onto the bed, placing both hands beside tzuyu as you draw closer, your lips inching toward each other. she’s the first to give in, craning her head forward to kiss you.
a hand reaches out to cup tzuyu's cheek as you begin to straddle her, settling both legs beside her. she sighs into you as you deepen the kiss, your tongues dancing together. the ache between her legs becomes unbearable the more you touch her; your hands slide under her tank top and pinch at her skin, earning sounds much more pleasurable than a simple groan.
when you two part, you slide down her body.
first, you leave delicate kisses along tzuyu's neck, savoring each spot that elicits a reaction from her. you take your time, enjoying the sensations of her responses as you explore her, grow accustomed to her. then you’re sliding her shirt off eagerly, thankful that there’s nothing to cover her chest.
she feels your thumb sliding over her nipple, throwing her head back against the headboard when you do so.
“y/n, ah- keep going, please.”
you press a kiss just under her boob, then suck lightly to leave a slight mark. “of course baby.”
kissing down her body, you meet her shorts, sliding them off immediately with your eager fingers. the next – and last – article of clothing is her underwear. before you slip it off, you look at tzuyu, her brows scrunched and lips parted. you silently ask for approval with a tilt of your head, the small gesture managing to convey a “is this okay?” which earns a nod from tzuyu, a silent way for her to respond, “please.”
in seconds it’s just you and her. her eyes look down at you desperately, anticipating your next move, begging for you to do something about her throbbing cunt.
tzuyu doesn’t need to ask for you, you seem to read her mind.
a chaste kiss is pressed to her pussy before you lick up her folds, earning a high-pitched whine from her. then you latch your lips onto her cunt, slowly finding what makes her hand tug at your hair harder, which spot she pushes you deeper into, and what pace earns better reactions.
she likes it when your tongue goes flat against her and right after when you swirl your tongue around her clit teasingly before sucking harshly – that’s what makes her moan the loudest, what earns a stronger grip in your hair.
and so you alternate between your tongue teasing the lips of her pussy, barging in so her walls feel your overwhelming touch, and stimulating her clit. all of it leaves her breathy, craving for more until she’s at the edge.
tzuyu ‘s moans get higher pitched, needier, and god, the mantra of your name encourages you to leave her weak. you look up a few times to make eye contact with her or see her with closed eyes and her bottom lip desperately trapped under her teeth.you can't help but marvel at her beauty, feeling that she's everything and more to you.
“y-y/n–”
she tries to gulp down a loud moan, instead failing and you hear her practically scream your name out. her hips jerk uncontrollably as she finally reaches her high, choked-out variations of your name filling the room as her arousal lands on your tastebuds. you don’t waste time with her, savoring her climax and helping her come down from her high. she’s sweet, you could get used to this.
tzuyu gazes down at you, her nails digging into the skin of your shoulder, leaving behind marks that would linger for a while. despite her trembling, your thumb continues to rub soothingly against her skin, offering comfort and reassurance. you treat her with tender care, paying careful attention to every aspect of her being, indulging in every sense and sensation.
“shhh, shhh baby,” you mumble against her inner thigh right before placing a kiss. crawling back up to meet her, you wipe a tear that had slipped down her cheek. “are you okay?”
“yeah, god, more than okay.” tzuyu breaths out, meeting your lips lazily. “so good.” she sighs.
“good, you did so good baby. so adorable.” you look at her with a proud smile, admiring the flush of her cheeks and the hair sticking to her forehead. “let’s get you cleaned up?”
she shakes her head before placing a hand on your cheek. “kiss me a little more.”
you giggle at her eagerness. “anything for you.”
-
both of you lay beside each other, breathing heavily, each trying to catch the other's breaths in the aftermath of it all. tzuyu leans against you, hiding her face in the crook of your neck as her bare body tangles with yours.
she mumbles against you, “did you still want to watch that movie?”
you can only giggle before kissing the top of her head. “no, i’m tired. i know you are too.” you respond, hearing the drowsiness in her voice, a product of your intimacy.
“yeah, a little.”
“i know.”
“y/n, are you okay?”
“i’m great, what about you baby?”
“even better.” she mutters, brushing her fingers against your ribs. “did you like it? i did.”
“i loved it.”
“me too.”
“me too.”
you let the silence envelop you for a moment, allowing the quiet to settle between the two of you, your breaths filling the air with a sense of calm. there's no awkwardness, just a deep comfort in each other's presence after everything.
“i love you tzuyu, so much.”
“i love you too.”
you wait until she falls asleep first, waiting for her breaths to slow and stay at a steady pace before you let your eyes shut. she’s asleep, but still manages to slip herself closer to you, groaning lazily against your neck.
you might melt.
-
the next morning, you find yourself lying on your stomach, head tilted to the side as you process the sunlight hitting your eyes. you let out a groan, feeling a trickle of drool slipping from the corner of your lip.
you feel the bed shift slightly as someone sits on the edge of it, and then a comforting hand begins to run through your hair, gently soothing you awake.
tzuyu.
“awake yet?”
“five… minutes…?” you ask, barely registering her voice. you hear a faint giggle, and then feel a press to your forehead.
“alright.”
your girlfriend sits down beside you, gently moving your head so that it rests on her lap. she continues to massage your head, the soothing touch lulling you into an even drowsier state.
tzuyu lets you doze off for a while longer, simply appreciating the moment after a long night. you're now wearing one of her shirts, one she put on you while you were still asleep, and it makes her grin wider, dimples and all.
“breakfast can wait, i guess.” tzuyu mumbles quietly, letting you sleep in for a few more minutes. “sleepyhead.”
she smiles; there’s nothing wrong with admiring her girlfriend – or the dark mark on her neck for a while more anyway.

Annoying morning (rlly isn’t)
A scrapped work of mine
nayeon x gn reader
Fluff
Tumblr media
Nayeon woke up before you, her eyes fluttering open to the soft glow of dawn filtering through the curtains. She couldn’t resist the urge to admire you as you slept peacefully beside her, your features softened by sleep. Your mouth was slightly open, your breathing steady and even, and there was a certain grace in the way you slept that Nayeon found utterly endearing.
“You look your cutest like this,” Nayeon whispered, as she reached out to gently trace her fingers along your cheekbone. She watched with adoration as a small smile tugged at the corners of your lips, even in your sleep.
But as you stirred awake, your mouth still slightly open, Nayeon couldn’t help but chuckle at your relaxed expression.
“But I just woke up,” you mumbled, your voice thick with sleep, a sleepy smile gracing your lips as you blinked up at her.
“I know what I said,” Nayeon replied, her own smile mirroring yours, as she continued to trace her fingers along your features, cherishing every moment.
You both lay there for a moment, basking in the warmth of each other’s presence, the soft embrace of the bed enveloping you like a cocoon. The room was filled with the gentle sounds of morning, creating a peaceful ambiance that seemed to wrap around you, bringing a sense of serenity.
Nayeon gently held your face in her hands, cradling it as if studying a precious treasure. Her touch was tender, her fingers tracing the contours of your features with care.
Perhaps she was noticing something new.
Something else to love about you.
And in that intimate moment, as she gazed at you with affection, you felt a rush of warmth fill your heart, knowing that you were cherished in every way.
After a moment of quiet intimacy, Nayeon broke the silence with a playful remark, her voice a gentle whisper in the peaceful morning air.
“So… I heard from the grapevine that I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to you,” she teased, her eyes twinkling with affection as she looked at you.
You couldn’t help but chuckle softly at her words, feeling a surge of warmth in your chest. “Stupid, you hear that from me every day,” you replied, your voice filled with fondness and adoration.
Nayeon laughed, her laughter like a melody in the tranquil room, as she leaned in closer to you. A playful glint danced in her eyes as she whispered softly, breaking the tranquility once more.
“Tell me how you fell in love with me,” she requested, her voice gentle in the quiet room.
You couldn’t help but let out a fake annoyed sigh, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. “Again? Nayeon, you know I’ve told you that story a thousand times already. I’ve literally told you yesterday—”
But before you could finish, Nayeon cut in, her expression filled with sincerity. “I don’t care, I wanna hear it again. Plus, I like hearing you speak and watching you blush.”
With a playful roll of your eyes, you couldn’t help but feel heat rise to your cheeks at her words, knowing deep down that you could never deny her anything. Recounting the story once more, you added a few embellishments here and there, just to keep things interesting, and perhaps to prolong the delightful anticipation of seeing her reaction.
Nayeon listened intently, her eyes never leaving your face, her heart swelling with love with every word you spoke. And as you finished your story, she reached out to hold your hand, her touch warm and reassuring.
“I love you,” Nayeon murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you too,” you replied, your heart overflowing with love for the woman lying beside you.
You couldn’t resist the urge to lean in for a tender kiss, wanting to seal the moment with an expression of your love. But just as your lips were about to meet, Nayeon playfully intervened, her hand coming up to cover your mouth.
“Morning breath,” she teased, her eyes dancing with mischief as she chuckled softly.
You let out a groan of mock annoyance, unable to hide the amusement in your eyes as you playfully rolled them, your desire for the kiss momentarily overshadowed by her playful interruption.
“Seriously?” you muttered, your voice muffled beneath her hand, a hint of irritation evident in your tone.
Nayeon’s laughter only seemed to grow at your reaction, finding amusement in your muffled response. With a playful grin, she removed her hand, allowing you to speak freely once more.
"I love you so much, y/n."
