tonight’s  thoughts:      when  they  were  younger,  negan  was  ultimately  closer  to  sam.  he  still  fucking  loved  dean,  let’s  start  there.  he  gave  him  a  beer.  they  watched  sports  together,  but    …    negan  was  on  sam’s  side.  he  did  not  agree  with  john  bringing  the  boys  into  hunting,  and  he  wanted  more  for  them,  which  i  don’t  think  a  younger  dean  was  ready  to  hear  as  much  as  sam  was.  negan  encouraged  stanford.  negan  drove  sam  to  that  college.  he  helped  him  unpack.  they  celebrated.      but  as  a  hunter?  i  think  in  an  interesting  turn  of  events,  there  are  times  when  negan    &    dean  now  have  more  an  understanding  than  negan  has  with  sam.  which  is  fascinating!  because  the  parallels  between  negan    &    sam  battling  darkness  are  there.  more  on  that  later.  but  hunter!negan  became  a  very  unforgiving  person.  a  monster  to  take  out  the  monsters,  and  suddenly,  his  mindset  shifted  closer  to  dean’s  early  belief  that  the  world  is  black    &    white.  good  or  evil.  they  don’t  like  to  make  exceptions.  they  don’t  believe  there  can  be  exceptions.  and  it  kinda  breaks  my  heart  a  bit  to  think  about  how  the  uncle  sam  knew  as  a  kid  pretty  much  died  the  same  time  his  aunt  did,  while  dean  may  not  even  remember  negan  being  anyone  else  except  who  he  is  now.
