Ladies it's a good day to remember that the majority of the time when a man actually needs help, he will ask another man!

If a strange man approaches you and asks for you to help him with something, you need to ask yourself why he is asking you.

This is how Ted Bundy would get his victims. He was counting on women being too polite to decline helping. He would pretend to have a broken arm or leg and ask women for help to do a task. When they were isolated he was able to knock them out or otherwise abduct them and murder them.

Do. Not. Be. Afraid. To. Be. Mean. To. Strange. Men.

Declining to help a stranger for your own safety does not make you a 'bitch'. It keeps you safe.

stop using the “this will only stop safe abortions” argument against conservatives. they know and are fine with women dying a bloody death for trying to get an abortion. for them it’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

One of the things that makes arguing with men so much more draining than arguing with women is the unequal distribution of credibility and contribution.

Somehow, whenever I argue with men, it always falls upon me to both prove my own claims, and to disprove his, while he does neither; his only obligation seemingly to dole out whatever ungrounded assertions he conjures up on the spot. Somehow, it is always wordlessly established that anything I say is false until proven true, while anything he says is true until proven false.

This same dynamic happened again over on tiktok, when a man claimed women are just as violent as men. Automatically, almost as if by muscle memory, I offered up the usual statistics on male depravity: men constituting 99% of rapists, 99% of mass shooters, 98% of killers, 95% of serious domestic abusers. And his only response was to say those statistics were wrong. No elaboration; wrong simply because he said so.

I already knew how the entire conversation would pan out: I’d give him my source, he’d find a reason to discredit the source, then I’d scour the internet to find a source that suited his standards, which he’d inevitably find a reason to discredit too.

So instead I simply said, “Prove the statistics are wrong.” And that was the only thing I responded with henceforth: prove it, prove I’m wrong, prove you’re right. Thus reversing the dynamics and positing that anything I said was true unless he demonstrated otherwise; unduly putting all the onus on him while I did nothing other than decide whether he was convincing me of claims thoroughly enough—and if he wasn’t, it just meant I was winning, of course.

He blocked me, and so far so have all the other men I’ve used this approach on. I don’t know whether it’s because they couldn’t actually disprove my claims or because they couldn’t stand to be treated the same way they treat women in debates. But I think more women should do this. Stop wasting energy proving your points to men, and start making them prove theirs to you.

Growing up I always heard “when boys are mad at each other they just punch it out, whereas girls are catty and hold grudges” and the latter was always presented as the less favourable option. Obviously I’m not excusing cruel behaviour, words do hurt, but I think it’s a great example of how boys’ bad behaviour starts to be forgiven or not taken seriously so early. Men using violence as their emotional outlet is the cause of so much suffering in this world, towards women, nonbinary people, children, and other men. This is not disconnected from behaviour exhibited and internalized in childhood. Maybe we as a society should show a bit more concern to boys seeing violence as an acceptable outlet for their emotions, rather than placing the brunt of this critique on girls who might say cruel things about each other but rarely lay a finger on each other physically. Just a thought

Not to mention how much it's overlooked that boys and men often are cruel and manipulative with their words too.

as a trans guy using queer dating apps, something I've noticed a lot is profiles saying "straight man seeking women or trans men" and "lesbian seeking women or trans men" like. by definition you are not attracted to men, so either you're not the sexuality you say you are, or you equate trans men to women. ough.
