What Are Little Girls Made Of? STAR TREK (1966–1969)

I have started a project that makes me feel like maybe a bit of hybris has entered my matrix - I want to watch all of Star Trek from start to finish. I made a spreadsheet however and realised that's quite an impressive amount of hours of moving pictures. We shall see how far I get.
I have to say though that ST:OS is hitting much better than the last time I tried it. I think first time around I was too devastated about being introduced number One in the pilot only to have her ripped away in the subsequent episodes. I just couldn't get over that first time around. This time however I knew it was coming and could temper the blow.

Can someone please explain how Seven is more attractive with her Borg implants than without them? Is this a thing? Or is this a lesbian thing? Or is this just a weird overly specific personal kink?
Either way, this is probably the only thing I'm actually taking with me from Picard season 2.

Watching Star Trek is throwing me into an existential depression. Even bad Star Trek still makes you yearn for a world of empathy, innovation and hope.

Was loading up the barbell at the gym and hit myself in the face with one of the weight plates. So now chewing hurts and my chin is twice it's normal size. So that's how I'm doing at adulting. Nailing it.

I'm nothing if not consistent though. Teenage me was a little bit in love with Seven of Nine. 22 years later and adult me still is.

No, but seriously, why did they have to give Seven so much delicious homoeroticism with all of the evil brunettes on Picard?!
Also, thank you, it's probably the only thing I straight up enjoyed about the show with a but.

Yes, I caved and am watching Picard. I have a lot of thoughts about it and far from all positive. But I do have to say that whatever the writers were going for with the tension and unspoken backstory between Seven and Bjayzl - I don't buy what they sold. Instead I am going with the only logical explanation - scorned lovers - turned enemies - turned - oh man why you gotta kill the gays before they even had a chance to be outed by the narrative?!
And honestly, even knowing where they take the character further down the line - I just...Seven is one of those characters that just...imagined the height of that character had she had a lesbian writer from the get go. I mean she could have been fucking magnificent as a lesbian character written by a lesbian writer. I mean she is a fun character as is, but... just imagine what could have been! Alas. In that other dimension maybe, the one where Nikki and Nora got picked up, dodos aren't extinct and men don't hate women with as much fervour.
