let me all remind you how fucking woke and inclusive captain underpants is

1, HAROLD IS LITERALLY CANONICALLY GAY. he has a HUSBAND and KIDS.

AND NO ONE HAS COMPLAINED.

2, one of the main characters is a poc (george)

3, george and harold canon have adhd (mental illness awareness !!)

4, not every character is a blonde, skinny, white person. in fact, most of the characters end up looking plus sized. really only older george and harold, seen WAY later in the books, are skinny. as a plus size person myself, that feels so nice

5, in the og books, theres no real love interest (to my knowladge). this means dav wasnt focused on making captain or krupp a lover; hes focused on the story and plot which can be kinda rare as people try to force love onto characters (yes i know he has edith in the movie but shhh shes my wife its okay)

some of them might be long shots and i will argue with these points until the DAY I DIE.

i dont care WHAT you say these make sense in my brain and make me super happy

ok when i said that i finalized my own take on ppu!krupp, blunder and edith... i realized i never really made any sort of full-body references in the vein of the the legacy kids. so, have ppu!krupp and blunder for now :]

ppu!krupp

i always keep changing his shirt, rip. like the long sleeves and rounded collar edge keeps being a thing, but i keep on flip flopping on whether he gets a pattern. finally decided that no, he doesn't need a patterned shirt. the repeating circle motifs already emphasize his softer vibe.

bolo tie instead of regular tie also to keep the round theme going, but to also allude to the fact that he had a better relationship with his mother in ppu

captain blunderpants

literally the major design change here was just giving him a whole new cape. it drags along the floor whenever he has to walk. there are two layers of curtain and even that... string? you use to pull apart curtains. its all about the [megamind voice] presentation

also stripes instead of piqua dots, because they technically swapped patterns-- ppu!krupp took the circles, even if i ultimately decided he doesn't need the dots.

when he has to disguise himself as krupp, his equivalent of the lopsided tie to tell its him is popping his collar.
