right i have a suggestion: we put steven’s show on the backburner for a bit and invest in some of your other shows first! i feel like we’re aware that’s gotta be their most expensive one, so if it’s costly i think maybe change it or drop it? change the show into can he make something good with what he has without dropping a grand or so?

idk it seems like if that really is the main driving factor idk. especially because they’re aware some of their quotes (even from buzzfeed days) that their fans adore are about piracy and eating the rich. @ watcher be reasonable i beg.

Okay can we stop acting like Shane and Ryan are hostages? They are grown men and this is their company too. Even if Steven is the driving force, they are supporting this with their full chests. Ryan said it’s the “right thing to do” and Shane had the professor say “ well why not?” Which is every bit as tone deaf as Steves “ everyone and anyone can afford it”

Do I feel bad about how mean some of the Watcher comments are? Ah, sort of.

But mainly when I see people posting things like 'I no longer have to pretend that anything they did on Watcher was as good as Unsolved' I'm struck by how it just shows that people followed them, and stuck with them, out of love, loyalty and respect. So when the illusion of those feelings being mutual was shattered well, this is basically post-divorce honesty hour. It's the paraosocial relationship break up equivalent of 'I never really liked your apple pie.'

What's most tragic about this move from Watcher is that they claim to do it because more money = higher quality shows, but it's that same "high quality" that made me stop watching most of the shows in the first place. Ghost files just isnt fun when every 3-5 minutes they roll some 3d information animation abt a gizmo or gadget that i already think suck and have already seen in every single episode. It's annoying to watch them use them and place any stock in what they produce because it's so obvious the machines are just programmed to produce "ghost data" on their own randomly. To take something funny like the spirit box and smother it another gizmo that cleans it up and takes the fun out of it.

The reason i loved buzzfeed unsolved was never EVER the "evidence" they gathered or even the history of the ghost story. It was the boys. Ryan scared out of his mind and shane laughing at him but still comforting him even though he thought it was all bs. The banter. It was never ever the ghosts that made the show
