Yandere Suitless Vader (Headcanons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Ahsoka ep. 4 brought me out of the trenches.
When he falls in love with you he knows he has two options. He can make you agree with a wave of his hand, manipulating your thoughts and emotions in his favor immediately, or he could go the softer route and get you to like him yourself. At least, that's what he tells himself.
At first you were terrified of him like everyone else, which he didn't want whatsoever. He would be a very good manipulator even without the force, but he's clever in the way he uses it.
Whenever you thought of him or were near him he'd make sure you felt this sense of safety. It was special, in that you only felt that comfortableness in his presence. It slowly diminished your fear in him, and as you two grew closer, it made you like him even more.
This man is watching you 24/7 through the force, even in meetings it's on autopilot and he's ensuring your safety. Probably has some kind of camera installed in your quarters as well even though he can see you fine through the force.
You're upset? You get this sudden suggestion in your mind to come see him. I wonder why...
He is the definition of obsessive and knows everything there is to know about you. Pays attention a little too well and takes note of almost all of your habits. It's terrifying.
He thinks he's the only person that should consume your time and will destroy your relationship or kill off your significant other if you have one at the time.
He might kill two birds with one stone and use the force on your best friend to make them cheat with your significant other so you'll lose the closest people to you. If that happens he is 100% making sure you go to him for comfort.
"Neither of them deserve you, you know that?"
Then he would kill both of them, for your sake of course.
He is actually very sweet to you, but will be harsh if you don't listen.
"I'm doing this to protect you, can't you see that?"
If you try and escape or flee for any sort of reason the entirety of Vader's fist (the 501st for the empire) is on the hunt for you, and this man is ripping apart the galaxy until you're in his arms again. I don't advise running.
I don't think he would even resort to locking you in his quarters he might just manipulate your mind to the point where you wouldn't question leaving his side. He's too powerful for you to resist.
Wants you by his side 24/7 unless he is fighting. Then and only then would he consider locking you away, not because he doesn't trust you but others might try and take advantage of you.
You can't hide anything from him and he is very clear about it.
If you reject his love without his influence, then he will make you want it.
He is the definition of controlling and possessive, good luck getting out of this one

Denial One Shot (Darth Vader x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: After venturing into a Sith Temple to try and find an edge on the current war, (Y/N) meets her enemy, Lord Vader, the man who killed her best friend and secret lover. He has been hunting both her and her alias down for months, following her across the galaxy, but little does she know, he has no plans to kill her. Takes place in the temple seen in the Star Wars Rebels season two finale. Reader was previously a Jedi and is in hiding due to order 66.
Warnings: Make out session
A/N: (Y/N) does not know Vader is Anakin, and Vader does not know (Y/N) is the Fugitive he has been searching for. This is once again a mix of suited Vader and nightfall Vader. In which, Vader wears the suit and mask, but he can take it off and looks like the Anakin we know and love.
Tumblr media
The temple was eerie, an odd feeling passing by with each step you took. It was the opposite of the one I grew up in, representing everything I was told to dislike, and yet I was here anyways. I had made up my mind to fight instead of continuing to run from the problem. I wasn’t a rebel, but I wasn’t an imperial either. I was the middle ground, a former Jedi with a new identity, a mask to shield my face so that I could live freely, but the saber still gave it away. I was good, too good to be a civilian having fun with an old relic, even though some still used them publicly. Some, as in him.
The Jedi fell and Lord Vader rose out of thin air. There was no preface, no foreshadowing, he just came, and everyone bowed their heads.
To outsiders he was a military leader trained in combat, who happened to use an imaginary power. To force users, like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and I, he was a Sith. We all knew it the second he began hunting us down. He wanted the Jedi dead and made it clear when he began searching for my alias as well. Everyone knew who she was, I was put on every single imperial security watch available, but I evaded it all I could. I forged a new saber, so that they couldn’t track me that way, and told people about how the female jedi on the Holonets from the clone wars died. The only people who truly knew were Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, since they too had done something similar. He was Ben, she was Ashla, and I gained the name Fugitive, a mask being the only way to keep track of my identity.
I couldn’t count how many storm-troopers I had killed by now, just that I did. I was forced to, to keep myself alive, because he wanted me turned in. I was always told to run, to flee from Vader because of what he’s done, but all I wanted was for the man to wind up dead. A lust for revenge had developed ever since I learned what he did to my best friend, Anakin Skywalker.
I don’t even know how he could have killed a warrior like him, but he did and now he’s gone. Slaughtered like any other while trying to save people in the temple, something someone with his character would have done naturally. The worst part is that everyone he was trying to save is dead too, and that he could have escaped with us, had he not done what he did. He had a wife, Senator Amidala, a good friend of mine, who also died that night, although I wasn’t sure if they ended on good terms.
The two had been arguing for a while, he believed she was cheating on him with Obi Wan, although she continued to deny it along with everyone else. I was the only one who he talked to about his problems willingly, even Kenobi would have to go through reading his mind to talk about personal issues. It was only when Anakin died that the truth came out, that being that Anakin was right, and she was seeing Kenobi.
I hadn’t recognized him after that point. I knew he was afraid he would be kicked out of the Jedi order if we found out he was dating another woman. Even further, the fact he knowingly was allowing the affair to happen, but it occurred anyways, and he lost everything with it. That was consequence enough, he didn’t need me to yell at him any further for going that far.
Still, I was angry, because I cared about Anakin.
And also loved him.
I denied it for years, the helpless prodding’s from Ahsoka when the two of us would spend hours upon hours with each other. We carried out the entire war effort, working extremely close together on missions. It was no surprise that I liked him, he had even mentioned subtly what things would be like if he hadn’t met her. It sounded like he regretted it, but I had no clue, due to us being force users.
I now stood in front of the man who took him away, the one that gutted him in the chest like a fish with no care whatsoever. The man that had been hunting me down under both my names since the night of the fall, the one that was known for murdering everyone in his path. I don’t know how he found me, I had a feeling we were being followed, but I didn’t care. We needed the Holocron inside of the temple, and Ahsoka now had it in hand. I could sense their distraught, both behind me looking at the Sith in front of us. They didn’t want to fight him; they were afraid to fight him. I felt differently, looking at his mask through the visors of my own.
“It was foretold that you would be here, our long-awaited meeting has come at last."
“This meeting is over,” Ahsoka said.
“Are you so sure?” the Sith questioned through the modulated voice his mask provided him, as I stepped forward.
“What are you doing?” Obi-Wan asked me, his breath becoming short.
“Leave."
“No," he shook his head. "Don’t do this."
“Leave. Now.”
I looked up at the temple’s ceiling as the walls started to drop down. It was collapsing on itself, since the Holocron had been taken from the Obelisk. There wasn’t much to do, but I knew I didn’t want to pull them into this. I turned around and outstretched a hand.
Ahsoka screamed as I force pushed both her and Obi-Wan back while the temple’s walls crashed down. I saw her figure fly back just before the drop and felt her gently land. There was a ship, they could leave, I would worry about myself after I killed him.
“We’re finishing this here,” I said. "I know you've been hunting me for the past months."
“You are courageous, unlike your friends,” the Sith mused. “Hateful.”
“You killed my best friend," I pointed out. "I want you to experience that same pain."
“Revenge is not the Jedi way,” he reminded. "Your confidence dilutes your ability to make rational decisions."
“I am no Jedi.”
“Then who are you? Your saber is unlike any I have ever seen, an identity successfully hidden behind a helm.”
“That’s none of your business, why have you been hunting me?” I asked. I felt the pressure of the Dark Side creeping against my mind's barriers, he was trying to invade.
“You would make a wonderful apprentice in the dark side,” Vader said. "You have already abandoned your training as a Jedi."
“I don’t side with murderers.”
“And yet you are one. I have seen your way of fighting Fugitive; you have killed countless of our troops and inquisitors.”
“Your Inquisitorious is an embarrassment, and I will never join you, not after what you did,” I called my saber to my hand, igniting it.
“Then you will die.”
There was this feeling of fear that attempted to wash over me, like he was attempting to throw me off, but I wasn't thinking about it anymore.
I ran full speed at him, force pushing myself up off the ground and into the air to try and put myself on the offensive. My blade met his right over his helmet, as he angled me back and I landed behind him. My automatic response was to try and swing for his legs, a move he evaded but had been surprised by. I knew I needed to be careful with how I played things. He would try and tire me out by just playing the defensive, but I also didn’t get that tired frow much stamina I built up during the war. Vader was also bigger, and stronger, meaning I’d need to use his weight to my advantage. I was quick, less stable, and grounded, and more agile in my movements.
We continued to take shots at each other, as he seemingly began to test me. It was a constant switch from the right to the left, bashing at each other from different angles and walking along with it. It was something Anakin and I always did, and it almost felt familiar. For whatever reason, I could feel myself getting into the rhythm Skywalker and I got into when we would train every day. After a certain point I would always switch my grip and force him to back off, and I did it purely out of muscle memory, shoving the Sith back.
“Your anger focuses you,” he commented. “Join me and I can enhance that power.”
“You killed him, the man I loved, do you truly believe I would ever consider that?”
“He is gone for a reason,” Vader said.
“He was the chosen one!” I shouted, interlocking lightsabers in a pursuit for power over the other. "You know why he lost his life?! Because he was trying to save everyone else, instead of actually caring for himself for once."
“(Y/N)."
I stumbled back immediately, hearing that name leave his mouth,
"What?"
My eyes widened beneath the visors, letting my guard down for just a moment.
It was all he needed.
I felt his immense force break through my walls and invade my mind, clawing through my memories and thoughts like a file. Not only that, but he immediately took me to the ground. It was quick, as he now straddled me, muscular thighs resting over my lower waist. Both my arms were pinned to either side with by the force, my saber in his hand.
I grunted, struggling under him and thrusting against his cod piece hoping it would make him budge but it barely made a difference. I couldn’t do a thing, as the Sith reached for my mask and pressed down on the sides. I felt it depressurize, as his gloved digits lifted it off my head, and I looked into his mask with my own eyes.
"How do you know my name?" I asked angrily as I fought underneath him to free myself.
There was no way of telling what he truly felt in that moment, holding the helm silently, breathing being the only indication he was still alive. I continued to try and do everything to get out of his grasp, but the Sith only sat there and took me in, his body heat lingering over my own. I felt like a mess, wondering where Ahsoka and Obi-Wan might be right now, realizing why Anakin lost his life to this man. I didn’t know how he knew my name, my real name, the one that no one had called me in months. I was fully pinned down, not giving up until I saw him reach for his own helmet.
"What are you do—"
My throat ran dry, amber eyes piercing through my body like a blade.
"Anakin."
It was him, with brown hair that held golden streaks just above his armor.
"(Y/N)."
Hearing his voice sent a shiver down my entire back, as I shuddered underneath him.
“I thought you died—they said Vader killed you—" there were tears welling up in my eyes, looking up at him.
“I am alive."
“Why did you turn?"
“The Jedi council was using us, Obi-Wan lied to me about Padme (Y/N), they were having an affair. But you know that already.”
“Obi Wan told us,” I trailed off.
“I know.”
“Do you plan to kill me?”
“No, that was never my intent," he emphasized lowly.
“So, what will you do?” I questioned.
“After separating myself from the order, I reflected much upon it,” Anakin started. "And came to terms with several of my mistakes."
“What mistakes?”
Still straddling me Anakin leaned down, placing his hands by either sides of my head and lowering himself to my ear.
“I was blindly dating filthy senator, when I had the love of my life right next to me the entire time."
"What do you mean?" I emphasized each word, my abdomen tensing as he got so close to me.
"There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think of my future and imagine you by my side. I told myself it was our strong bond causing me to think of you constantly, due to the amount of time we spent together, but now, I feel completely different."
"Anakin," my heart was racing, as he continued to whisper into my ear.
"Maker, I missed you so much."
He was just trying to be friendly, that's all this was.
"Now, I know you are not that naive," he let out a deep chuckle, reading my mind.
"Is this your way of coercing me into joining the dark side?" I said softly, trying to play it off.
"There is no need to coerce you (Y/N), your heart is already doing all the work," Anakin told me. "All there is to do is to make up for lost time."
"No.."
"Continuing to deny it is only stalling the inevitable," he spoke in a playful way. "Your hatred towards the one you believed to be my killer only proves it more."
"I—" I cut myself off, as Anakin moved his head, now right over mine.
"What is it?" he asked me, his golden eyes flicking from my lips up to my eyes in quick fashion.
I gave in, nodding to his silent question and feeling the force lift off my hands.
Anakin pressed his lips to mine as I lifted my head up and met him midway. His robotic hand came down to my waist, the other combing through my hair as he helped hold my head steady. It was delicate and prepared, goosebumps crawling over my skin as his weight pressed me onto the cold temple floors. He was an expert in the way he worked around my mouth, the first time I had ever kissed anyone to begin with.
To think such a sacred place would be ruined due to our own shenanigans.
A Jedi and a Sith, making out in a temple with no care for sentiment.
His lips were chapped yet soft, and the more breaths we took between kissing the more swollen they became. Anakin didn’t seem to care though, continuing to go down on my neck allowing me to breath. He wasn’t going too far, but it was enough for the occasion, leaving marks I that wouldn’t leave for days.
It was madness.
Everything around us screamed in pleasure, the force happily chiming along with the two sides agreeing on something, even if it wasn’t an argument. Anakin had changed, and I couldn’t decide if it was for better or for worse.
If only those two could see me now, making love to the man that we had been running from for months. The copious amounts of rage had turned to attraction in a blink of an eye, rejoicing in his presence as my hand pressed against his tunic and I felt his abdomen underneath the fabric. He was such light and yet the darkness itself, drowning me in it as we sunk into a pool of ecstasy.
The cold stone floors were soon heated, as the temple grew humid and we both simultaneously agreed to take our tops off. It was the definition of multitasking, as I took off his armor and tunic, leaving behind a black pair of pants, and his boots. With the force he slipped my top off, gaining access to my collar bone and gracing it with his mouth. There was a possessive feeling in the air, as he took in my body for the first time with his own eyes as I did to him.
"You are so beautiful, it is intoxicating."
I felt myself smiling, sitting up and wrapping my arms around his neck, the both of us kissing deeply. This was it, holding our breath as we enjoyed one another, but the force was warning the both of us.
The temple shook, I almost forgot it was collapsing.
"We need to escape before we become trapped inside," Anakin said. "My ship is outside."
"And you assume I'm coming?"
"I know you are."
I laughed, acknowledging his foresight. We put on our clothes hurriedly yet thoroughly, as someone trained to handle life or death would. In truth, that was what we stood for, as Jedi and Sith both came together as one, in ways that would be frowned upon.
Except we didn't care.
We weren't denying it any longer.

Vader In A Relationship (Headcanons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You thought he was down bad in the talking stage? Heads up it gets worse from here.
Now that you two are in a relationship he's much more comfortable being affectionate towards you directly.
Even though he can read your thoughts, and knows you wont leave him, that doesn't stop him from from making sure you know he's the best option for you.
Lets you hold his lightsaber, and guides your hands in properly placing them. He knows you can do it yourself, just wants an excuse to touch you.
Openly gives you gifts even though you didn't ask for anything. If you think about it, he knows, and will get it.
Teaches you about the force whether you're sensitive to it or not. Loves that you enjoy listening to him.
He's extremely protective. Constantly monitoring who you're hanging out with and who sees you.
Will make it clear you are his. If someone gets to close to you it's war. All the sudden that person disappears from your life, even though you had no clue why.
Vader is the only thing that should consume your time, in his opinion.
If you have a passion or hobby he will fully support it. Whether that's writing or art (for example) he's happy to give you the resources and time to pursue it.
Anything that interests you he learns about. He's invested in you just as much as you are in him. (Definitely obsessed)
If someone hurts you they're dead. Especially if you cry, he will absolutely destroy whoever made you feel that way. Doesn't really care if they're good at their job, someone else can fill the role, and it wont be someone who has hurt you.
You worry about his tendencies to harm people that bother you. Its natural to become annoyed by people in the work space, but you can't control what you share with him. You know he knows everything you think about, so consider things handled.
Purposely doesn't get a bigger meditation chamber so you're forced to sit on his lap. His legs are massive and strong, so there's no need to worry about it.
Willingly force heals you, even if its a headache, he's got you covered.
Does everything he can to give you a somewhat normal relationship. If the meditation chamber isn't nearby, and he can't take off his mask, he'll simulate it with the force. You'll feel him pressing kisses to your neck and forehead, even though he's not there/not close to you.
He does this anyways throughout the day. If you're in meetings together, he'll tease you, and touch you with the force. All the sudden it feels like his arms are around your waist, or his hands are rubbing circles across your skin. No one notices because you're good at hiding it, but he knows and loves it.
If you go on missions together he's adamant on you staying with him at all times to protect you, although your the safest woman alive in your role as his.
His tone is much softer towards you. He tries to make sure you aren't scared of him in any way, especially if you see something like him choking a trooper/officer.
Moves you into his quarters, and upgrades your office. You still work in his office anyways though.
Would take you on little getaways to planets, he's traveled practically everywhere, and knows the best spots.
He has a lot of anger issues, but doesn't take it out on you. If anything, you calm him down naturally.
Loves walking behind you instead of in front of you, so that he towers over you. Also will stand behind you/beside you during meetings or confrontations with other people, and hold you/rub circles across your skin. Its his way of reminding people to be careful around you.
Lets you use his cloak as a blanket if you get cold.
Has a set of hand picked troopers assigned to you as a personal detail. Incase of emergency, you're constantly in good hands.
He's good at the little things, and makes an effort to be the first and last thing you think of each day.

Vader In The Talking Stage (Headcanons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Vader liked someone how would he go about it?
Subtly nudges you into becoming closer with him, eventually friends, then partners. He wouldn't make it obvious though.
Allows and invites you to work in his office on the Executor/Death Star.
Gets your opinion on battle plans even though he doesn't need it. Just needs an excuse to talk to you, and would easily slide into conversation.
He would read your mind to see what you were thinking about and bring it up casually. This way you two get closer and you begin to open up more.
Would stop by your quarters to check on your progress on your assignments even though he was monitoring you through the force.
Rather than giving you gifts blatantly he might upgrade something you already have. This way you don't question it as much. He also would be discrete about it.
He would try and become an outlet for you to vent or would offer advice. Already knows what was going on but tries to make you feel like you have some kind of control over what you say to trust him.
Reads your peers thoughts about you to get to know you better. He would be very possessive and might steer some people away from you that he sees a threat, especially men.
He would brush your side when standing next to each other or hold onto your shoulder to see how you react. It would come off as mentoring to others rather than affectionate.
Takes you on missions even though they're really just ways for him to get one on one time with you. Wouldn't actually do anything besides spend time with you. He says he's required to have an officer join him but its a lie.
He knows you like him, it would only be a matter of time before you would, just wanted to make it feel good.

Irresistibly Yours One Shot (Darth Vader x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: (Y/N) has been hiding across the galaxy for a year, attempting to flee her husband alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi, but now it is over. When the Sith finally tracks her down she must make a choice, continue to live a lie or leave with the man she loves. Takes place during Kenobi with altered events. Reader is previously a Jedi married to Anakin Skywalker.
Warnings: Make out session, mentions of sex, slight violence (not towards reader)
A/N: The poll I made landed in a 50/50 between suited Vader and nightfall Vader so I'm giving you the best of both worlds. In which, Vader wears the suit and mask, but he can take it off and looks like the Anakin we know and love.
Tumblr media
“You have to go,” I demanded, turning away from the door in horror.
“(Y/N),” Kenobi pleaded.
“He wants me Obi-Wan, we don’t have a choice,” I reasoned. “You know he will continue to harm those people until I come out from hiding.”
“He’s going to try and take you.”
“And I’ll try and throw him off my trail, at least one of us needs to escape.”
“I understand,” he said, after a moment of silence.  “Goodbye, (Y/N).”
“May the force me with you Obi-Wan,” I nodded to him, saying the old phrase intentionally.
“You as well.”
I watched him enter the secret tunnels in the back of the workshop before it slid shut, and audibly sighed. I knew it was hopeless, it wasn’t possible to ever escape him. I couldn’t, not with how well he knew me. A part of me didn’t even agree with Kenobi, as he still believed in the Jedi and being heroes. I had changed, and their morals didn’t resonate with me any longer, not since the fall.
My body shook, as I ran as hard as I could once opening the door. It was loud on purpose, everyone standing in the little street seeing me and yelping in surprise. I saw the inquisitorious point in my direction, calling out my action for their lord. I could feel it, even though I couldn’t see his face beneath the mask. I could feel that he was looking at me, the two of us making eye contact for the first time in a year. He was massive, even taller than before and stronger than ever, right on my tail as I fled. I was quick, my legs carrying me into the maze of shipping crates and dirt from afar. I should have been quieter, but I knew that wouldn’t do much. He could track me in other ways, like the force.
His cold presence clung to my shoulders as I ran between the mounts that acted like walls. I needed to throw him off, but I knew it was impossible. He was too intelligent, too quick. His steps were twice as much as my own, the force connection that bound us inseverable. My heartbeat picked up, so much so I could hear it as if it were right in my ear. My hands were trembling lightly from the thrill of fleeing.
“There is no escape,” his modulated voice said, but I couldn’t tell where it came from.
“I’ll never join you,” I whispered.
The Sith was nowhere to been seen. I backed up, returning to my original pace and attempting to find him again in the pitch black, even though his suit was the same color. He hadn’t ignited his saber yet, although it didn’t make much of a difference, since I hadn’t ignited mine in months. In truth, I hadn’t touched a thing related to the Jedi in a year. All of it, including the force, I severed myself from, up until he started hunting me down.
He invaded my dreams, doing everything in his power to get to me. When he came, it wasn’t painful, it felt amazing, too good; feelings I only experienced in his presence. He tried to pleasure me, sooth me and coax me into joining him, promising to save me from Kenobi. He abused our connection from our time as Jedi’s, seeping into my conscious and speaking to my thoughts, ghosting my body with his invisible touch. Every time I thought of him, I thought of the past. I told myself I didn’t love him, but we both knew it was a lie.
“Really?”
I knocked into something hard, strong hands coming around my upper arms. They kept me in place with ease, essentially locking me in my tracks. I looked up and swallowed, knowing I was done for.
“Vader,” my breath was short. I wouldn't call him Anakin.
“My dear,” he said.
“I am not your dear,” I tried to back up, but it was no use. My chest tightened, feeling his thumb rub my skin comfortingly.
“Yet you are weakening in my hold,” he spoke sweetly, opposite of his reputation. If anyone else rejected him, they would be dead, neck snapped, I knew that.
“You’re a liar,” I said unfearingly.
“You are the only one lying here, (Y/N),” Vader replied. “Don’t deny me any further.”
His voice lit a fire across my entire body, smooth yet so deep I could have lost it right then and there. It took everything to keep my composure, a fake stubbornness still trying to hold up across my face. I wanted so badly to do a million different things. A part of me thought to leave, to escape and flee once again. But another part of me wanted to follow him, leave Kenobi behind, and go into the depths of hell.
“I will never join you, Sith,” I used his new title as an insult. “Now let go of me.”
“Your thoughts betray you, my love,” Vader said. "I feel your conflict."
“I hate you.”
“Hate is not an attribute of a Jedi, or you,” he entertained. “You are too caring to hate.”
He was right, always right, and knew me far too well. I sighed aloud, as he still held me and I could just feel the victorious expression through his mask.
“I married Anakin Skywalker, not you.”
“Anakin Skywalker still remains, but only for your pleasure,” he rebutted. “I am here, waiting for you, my dear. You and I can overthrow the emperor, become the galaxies newest destined rulers. Leave Kenobi and set yourself free, do what we both know you long to. We are mean't to be together.”
I looked into his helm, hoping that I might see his eyes through the blacked-out visors. My lips parted just slightly, breathing hitched as my hands rested on the Sith’s chest. You could see it, Vader's muscles breaching the clothes he wore. The armor fitted his broad shoulders perfectly, hands so skilled and trusted. My head dipped, succumbing to what I truly thought.
“I’m supposed to kill you, to try and run away.”
“I know,” he leaned forward, his mask hovering over my head.
“I told myself I wasn’t going to do this,” I my hands turned into fists, pounding on his chest in frustration.
“But you don’t agree with Kenobi,” he finished.
“I don't."
“So, join me, my dear,” Vader coaxed, placing a leather glove on my jaw to tilt my head upward.
I breathed deeply, my pupils slowly dilating while taking him in.
“Take the mask off."
Surprisingly, the Sith didn’t argue. He let go of me and slipped his thumb around the rim of the helm, like he needed to turn something off. A hissing sound followed, confirming my suspicions, and he lifted it above his head carefully, dropping it onto the ground. I watched it fall, clinking on the ground as if he didn’t care for it. My eyes slowly trailed back up, seeing his true appearance in what felt like forever.
His hair was the same length, wavy and brown, yet in the face he had grown so much. His jawline was even more developed, the scar still remaining on the right brow. The most prominent feature was his eyes, gold with red rimming the irises. His gaze was more alluring than before, a look I easily got flustered from. He grinned at me checking him out and let out a sexy and low laugh.
“Still have the same effect, don’t I?” Vader asked, his actual voice being used.
“Even better,” the words formed before I could think.
His robotic arm curled around the back of my head, the two of us enclosed on the space between. I slid my arms between his neck, kissing him deeply without hesitation. It felt like a war between hell and heaven, holding my breath for as long as possible while taking the Sith in. The further we went, the worse it got, to where I wrapped my legs around his lower waist and he held onto my ass. We would take short breaths touching each other as much as possible during it, enjoying as much as we could, the both of us starved from one another.
It was no surprise Vader got the upper hand, trailing his lips over to my cheek and down to my neck. He carried me over to a tower of crates, one sitting alone in front of the stack, sitting me down on it gently. I leaned back as if it was a wall, and sounds slipped from my mouth naturally. They were rare to come by, not having heard them in months, my husband well aware. I felt Vader smile as he got onto the crate as well and trailed his hand up my thigh to my top. He was straddling me, making me feel like I was weak, and it was to die for.
More whimpers left my lips, and I knew what he wanted. The Sith fiddled with the zipper of my jacket, remaining eye contact with me while doing so. I could feel his hot breath against my skin, forcing me to shudder as he started to take my clothing off. I wanted him so badly, feeling his cod piece harden against my thigh, but we both sensed something nearby. The two of us froze, silent as his cloak shielded me from anyone’s line of sight.
“Obi-wan is near,” I whispered.
“He has come back to try to take you away from me,” Vader said, his hands now placed on both sides so that I was caged in. It was protective, the look in his eyes possessive.
“We must go, you have to have a ship nearby,” I told him.
“I do, follow me,” he nodded.
I slid off the crate, slightly upset we had been interrupted, but there wasn’t time to think about it. Obi-wan would never forgive me if he saw this, and I preferred that I remained on good terms with him. Vader called for his helmet with the force, it quickly suctioning to his hand and then being placed on his head. I kept up with him, weaving through the maze of construction until we got closer to the town. It seemed that most of the Imperial forces had been ordered to leave, Vader having called them off unsurprisingly.
The people that once lingered around were all inside, sleeping away in fear from what happened. Behind all of the buildings was a ship, the shadow of it coming into view from around the corner. It was the infamous Tie-Fighter the Sith always flew in, extremely well developed and luxurious. He lifted up the hatch with a wave of two fingers, offering a hand politely to help me up onto the top. It was only when he got in first and sat down that I realized where this was going.
The ship was small, meant to be a one seater and easy to maneuver. Vader took off his helmet once more before shooting me a suggestive look and patting the inside of his leg. It created little space for me to sit in his lap, but I didn't think much of it, all I knew was that what had stopped before was about to resume.

Currently working on a new Vader x reader that takes place during Kenobi and wanted to know what you all preferred.
So either he would be normal, burnt and crispy, or he would wear the suit but wouldn't be burnt on the inside (so (Y/N) could take off the mask).
I ask this because I personally don't mind either it just alters the plot a bit.

Within Close Proximity One Shot (Darth Vader x Reader)

Summary: After (Y/N) saves the dark lord, he finally acts on his feelings for her. Takes place during the season finale of Kenobi.
Warnings: Mentions of injury and death.
Tumblr media
Wait on the ship, he had told her, and she respected his wishes willingly. In truth (Y/N) knew Vader only wanted to protect her. This was his fight, it needed to be, for him to truly move on, because this was his worst enemy. This was the man who had locked him in that black suit, the man that justified the need for Vader. Still, hearing the two sabers clash outside became unsettling, wondering who’s was really taking the hits. She even heard rocks falling, like they were throwing them at each other.
It was only until she heard a familiar voice shout that she questioned what he asked for.
“OBI-WAN!”
Something shook the ship, a force of some sort making it tremble. It was most definitely him, no man could ever make that kind of sound with that low of a voice. She put her stuff away unforgivingly and decided on peeking to see if everything was alright. Slowly, looking out from the underbelly of the ship, (Y/N)’s eyes landed on a man falling, his blue lightsaber crumpling with him. The large rock figures behind the man showed a red glow, the two shadows pressed onto it. She saw the Sith’s shadow standing over him, before the saber disengaged, and watched him fall to the ground.
“Vader!” she immediately called out, running over.
There was a slight noise, faint but still clear. It sounded like wheezing, rather than Vader’s usual respirators sound. As she turned the corner, she saw the man up close, blade wound right near his heart, most definitely dead. It was gruesome, but not impactful, like the man beside him had become. Vader sat kneeling over, his chest box beat inward, armor similarly nicked and scratched, a blazing cut on his back. He was trying to crawl over to the ship, so far beaten and yet victorious at the same time.
(Y/N)’s heart had dropped, being quick to come to his side.
“Let me help you,” she ushered. “I’ve got you.”
Vader was massive compared to her, compared to most in the galaxy in general. He was way over six foot, a mass of muscle and armor that surely weighed a tun. It was stupid for her to try and carry him, and yet she did anyways. Taking his arm around her neck, she took hers around his waist, holding on gently but firm enough to get a good grip. (Y/N) already had a strategy, as she mustered up all the emotion she could to lift the two up. With a determined grunt she pushed off her knee to bring the two up to their feet, immediately walking over.
The force swept around the two, his body heat kept her warm on the cool planet. He was using it to assist her, leaning his weight on her side while having the force keep both steady.
“Is it just your chest box and back?” (Y/N) asked.
‘Yes,’ his voice echoed in her mind, not wanting to truly speak.
Vader watched over her face the entire walk there, seeing her become so determined over someone she was loyal to. (Y/N) was naturally motherly, the type of person to pay you back ten fold if you did something for her once. She understood how hard this was but was blinded by the idea of helping her friend, innocently unaware of the fact he just murdered the man beside her. Unaffected by the fact he tormented the galaxy, murdering hundreds of thousands. It was in the name of the Empire, he was keeping order.
“I’ll fix you up, no worries,” she assured him as they boarded the ship.
She led him to the little med bay in the back, sitting him down on the hard cot by the wall. There was already a medical droid prepared to handle his suit, but she had made up her mind on tending to his back. Going to the other side of the room, she took off her officer’s jacket, leaving a white undershirt in its place. All she needed was to clean the wound and apply Bacta cream, seeing as it only burned the skin rather than cutting into it; his armor was thick, a barrier in these cases.
Vader kept his eyes on her beneath his mask, taking her in as she worked to help him. He traced her curves, noticing how well she hid herself in the jacket. She turned around, smiling softly to the Sith lord with items in hand.
“May I?” (Y/N) asked him.
‘You may,’ he spoke through the force.
She slowly sat on the cot herself, in the position where she was behind Vader as his legs sat over the edge, feet resting on the ground. It was ironic, how even when sitting on her knees he was taller, and wider. His shoulders were broad, essentially hiding the medical droid from her view. Before touching his cloak, she thought about asking permission as well, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.
‘Do not be afraid, do as you please,’ it was like it was whispered into her ear, the closeness making her shiver.
Vader sat still as her hands went around his neck, gently unclasping the chain of his cloak and taking it off. He relished in the feeling of her being so close, pleased with how submissive and obedient she had always been. It was no secret to the Sith that he liked her, he never tried to fight it off, or shy away from taking up the opportunity. She would be his, and he could feel her attraction to him. He sensed (Y/N) biting her lip in concentration, cleaning up the burn with an alcohol wipe.
“Does this hurt?”
‘No.’
Soon enough she applied the Bacta cream, rubbing slow circles onto his skin where she could. She was in deep thought, a hand full of things crossing her mind. Vader paid close attention to the droid as he repaired his chest box, restoring his breathing back to normal with an odd hissing sound. (Y/N) wasn’t done yet, and Vader was pleased, waving he droid to go away.
“You won!” she exclaimed, patting his shoulder lightly.
“That is correct, Kenobi is no more,” Vader said.
“I’m proud of you,” she finished rubbing in the cream. “Even though my opinion doesn’t mean much.”
“Your opinion matters little one,” he urged.
“Thank you,” (Y/N) laughed, clasping his cloak back on.
“There is no place for gratification, I merely stated a fact.”
Vader stood up, only millimeters away from the lady in front of him as she sat on the cot still. He looked down at her, as she looked up, flustered.
“Of course,” she agreed, standing up.
Her breasts almost pressed against his chest, as he didn’t move an inch, or allow her space. Her irises shimmered in the translucent lighting, little bags weighing her eyelids down. It was only for a moment, as she scooted away as quickly as it started and put the tools she got out back in their place. A twinge of annoyance hit Vader, wanting to take advantage of the proximity while he still had it. He could feel it, he knew he wasn’t deceiving himself. She shied away because she was embarrassed of her own feelings, because she liked him and was flustered by the moment.
“Little one,” he called for her, as her back was towards him.
(Y/N) was trying to put one of the boxes of tools the droid had used back in its cabinet, struggling as it was the highest one.
“Yes?” she answered, wincing as she almost put a knee on the counter to get tall enough.
The Sith used the problem to his advantage, coming over to help. He pressed his body against hers, his figure hiding hers from the outside view. His two strong arms placed themselves gently on (Y/N)’s waist, hoisting her up with ease so she could put it away. Her thoughts were amusing, panicked and shocked as he held her. The woman’s face was madly red as he softly sat her down, keeping that protective hold on her stomach.
“Vader,” her words were breathy. “I—”
“I know.”
“You know?” she asked.
“I too share your feelings.”
“You do?”
“I do,” the lord assured.
“What are we going to do?”
“I would like to expand on our relationship, if you will have me,” he said.
“I would love to do that,” (Y/N) smiled, allowing herself to enjoy his touch.
She was obviously exhausted, her force signature prodding at her to go to sleep. Vader had just achieved two of his greatest victories this night. First, with his worst enemy, and second, with the love of his life. He picked her up bridal style before she could comprehend the action, hoisting her up like she was a feather and carrying her into the cockpit. Sitting (Y/N) down next to his seat, he unclipped his cloak and placed it on her.
“Rest, I shall pilot the ship,” Vader spoke.
“Good night, V,” she gave him a nickname as he sat down, now slowly dozing off.
“Good night, my dear.”

Endgame Chapter 1 (Darth Vader x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am princess of Ethereaan, successor to my parents, the king and queen, even though I was the youngest sibling. My older sister was born with several disabilities, enabling her to not be able to fulfill the role. That left only me to take her place, at the ready to lead a planet all on my own, since I hadn’t courted anyone yet.
“I can’t believe it’s already today,” I said.
“It’ll be great just do what you always do,” Skai encouraged, helping me slip on my dress as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I met her dark eyes, a smile appearing on both of our faces.
“Are you going with anyone?”
“Not as of right now no,” she sighed. “However, if a trooper were to ask me to dance, I’d say yes.”
“Sounds good to me,” I shrugged.
“Are you going with anyone, your highness?” her emphasis was purposed, alluding to my suitors.
“My father refused,” I said. “He wanted me to remain open minded, so the option of courting an imperial still remains.”
I shot Skai a nervous smile, as she gave me a knowing glance. It was clear the two of us agreed on how absurd it was, but still we were at a disagreement. I liked to take the high road, swallowing down the issue and making the most of it, while she preferred acknowledging it, and swindling her way out of it.
“It’s okay, if he believes that’s best then I will do as he says,” I reasoned.
“It would look good for Ethereaan, inner rim and all,” she added. “Especially with the event, you could really make a show out of this.”
“Still a little shocked,” I laughed once we finished up, going towards the door of my bedroom. “Empire Day is such a big deal.”
Empire Day was the anniversary of when the imperials resumed power and the chancellor transitioned to emperor. Every year an inner rim planet was chosen to have a ball for it, hosting hundreds of senators and high-ranking imperials in celebration. Speeches were given, parades planned beforehand, and fireworks at the end. My father and Palpatine were very close, due to Ethereaan’s trading in minerals and weaponry. It made sense that we were chosen for its third year.
Skai was quick to open the door, resuming her handmaiden personality in the process, as I fulfilled my own as princess. We headed over to the dining room to meet with the rest of my family, walking fast but not in a hurry. My posture was like a beam going down my back, as the ends of my dress fluttered naturally. It complemented the Ethereaanian colors well, those being blue and white with silver. The corridor was open, stain glass windows defining the walls while stone floors laid beneath our feet. The large room dawned quickly, my mother and father waiting at the end of the table, perking up when the doors opened.
“Good morning,” I smiled, greeting both.
“Good morning, sleep well?” mom asked.
“Mm, better than usual,” I answered while stretching. I paused, going over to see my sister before sitting down. “Good morning, Karai.”
‘Good morning sister,’ she said through sign language. Karai could hear but couldn’t form sentences, so we used sign language instead. She also couldn’t walk well, which is why we used a wheelchair when she needed to move.
I smiled, and softly squeezed her hand before finding a spot. Before me were blueberry pancakes, with Jawa juice and fruit, made by the palace chefs. I watched as the steam rolled off it, as one of the servants put it down. I mouthed a ‘thank you’ to him as my father stood up, almost at the same time I sat down. He was tall, the tallest person I had ever seen, standing at six four. When he stood up, it often meant his words were to be taken as high demand.
“There have been some recent updates to tonight’s event,” father spoke eloquently but serious. “We are to host a feast beforehand.”
“With whom?” I asked.
“Several high-ranking officers in the Empire,” my mother clarified, seeming uneasy.
“Is there something wrong with them?”
“Lord Vader will be in attendance; we are to escort him and the others personally to the ball.”
There was a moment of silence, my mom looking at my dad like they were telepathically speaking. Her body language was obviously tensed, his similar.
“Who called for this?” I wondered.
“Emperor Palpatine personally asked of it, since he cannot attend this year due to a personal emergency,” dad explained.
“Of course, I understand,” I said.
“Good, you must get ready right away, it is already later than usual,” mom advised. “Arrive at the gaming room, we shall entertain them while all the guests arrive.”
“I will see you then,” I waved to them, standing up as Skai shadowed me.
The moment the doors shut again, and I was out of the public eye, Skai dropped her mannerisms and drew her mouth agape. I watched her press her weight to it, like she wanted to make sure she wasn’t heard.
“Lord Vader?!” Skai whisper-shouted to me as we made our way back to my quarters. “I mean—I knew he was going to be there, but to dinner? Being escorted?”
“If the emperor wills it, we don’t have much of a choice,” I shrugged.
“He is referenced to as the Dark Lord (Y/N),” Skai’s voice was laced with fear. “If I mess one thing up, I could die.”
“So, evade him all you can, nothing will happen,” I assured.
Vader was Lord of the Sith, and Palpatine’s right hand. He was the most powerful force user in the galaxy, like a guard dog to the emperor. He could destroy a planet’s population with no question, he had destroyed many planet’s populations with no question. It was said that darkness followed everywhere he went, his attitude ruthless and unmerciful. It was do or die, and if you didn’t do something right, you died anyways. Everyone knew of his name and what it meant, and only the current rebellion went against it.
Once we got to my room several other handmaidens arrived, makeup, accessories, and outfits in hand. It would be several hours of prodding, but I didn’t mind, I knew it was for the best. I allowed them to get the upper hand, strategizing about the night in the process.
After showering, applying traditional Ethereaan makeup, putting on my dress made for the event, and styling my hair, I was complete. I tried to help as much as I could, but the handmaidens refused every time I raised a hand. The hours flew by naturally by conversation, the time quickly running out. All that was left now was to slip on a pair of heels. I needed to wear a pair that was significant and matched well, but were also easy to move in. There was no doubt I would be dancing tonight, and I knew I’d get blisters if I wasn’t careful.
“All done,” Skai sighed satisfactory.
“Thank you, all of you,” I said, standing and getting a feel for the shoes.
“Of course, milady,” they spoke synchronized, before quickly dismissing themselves.
I watched awkwardly as they left my room, before turning back to my friend and following. The gaming room was on the way to the large dining area, it was like a casino, with a vast number of activities inside. I visited it often when I was free, knowing how to entertain others being a part of my role. A side of me genuinely enjoyed it, often playing against the handmaidens or Skai specifically.
An assortment of lights decorated the place, Skai and I both looking around and taking it in. All the machines had their mechanisms. The Dejarik tables, better known as holochess, blinked in the back of the room. The Sabacc cards were littered around their designated surfaces. The arcade games lined the walls, an assortment of pinball machines taking most of the space. Finally, the pool tables caught my eye, sitting pre-prepared with all fifteen balls set in a triangular shape.
I walked over, picking a pool cue that fit my hand and motioning to hit the white cue ball. I hadn’t played in a while, but I decided it would do.
“I think someone is coming,” Skai told me, as other servants began to filter in. They were carrying drinks, ready to handout.
We both watched the door, and before either of us could spark another conversation it abruptly opened. There were two guards holding either side, and I saw my mother at the front of the crowd.
“You may entertain yourselves here as we await other guests,” she said, welcoming the several men behind her. “This is Grand Admiral Thrawn, Admiral Motti, Admiral Piett, Director Krennic, Admiral Yularen, and Grand Moff Tarkin,” the queen introduced. “Esteemed guests, this is your majesty, Princess (Y/N),” my mother then introduced myself.
“Pleased to meet you all,” I bowed my head obediently.
“We are still waiting on a few, so I shall leave you to it.”
I nodded my mom off, quickly going to personally introduce myself as she left. I shook all their hands, meeting their eyes and acknowledging them. The servants soon followed, offering light alcoholic beverages on a silver platter. I watched as the guards held the doors for several storm troopers as my mom transitioned out. They all silently lined the room, watching in case of emergency. There was always rumor of the rebellion, people trying to take shots at the Empire. Especially at an event like this, security was called for, although I wasn’t sure if anyone would have the gut to do anything with Lord Vader here.
“There is an assortment of games to choose from, I am going to play pool if anyone would like to join me?” I offered.
“I would be honored your majesty,” the odd one out said. He had blue skin, navy hair, and a white uniform.
Thrawn, I repeated his name in my mind as I walked over to the table. The rest followed, making conversation amongst themselves. It seemed they were more interested in watching than playing separately, which I didn’t mind at all. It would be easier to keep track of everyone that way, as more guests arrived.
“You may go first,” I ushered as he picked a pool cue from the rack.
“Thank you,” his smooth but deep voice gratified.
He leaned over the table, his hand outstretched so that the shaft of the stick laid between the thumb and pointer finger. Drawing it outwards, the tip bumped into the cue ball and against the triangle of colored ones. A stripped ball fell into the top left hole, meaning he could shoot again.
I stepped away from the table, allowing for the Chiss to move freely. He went to the right, attempting to hit another stripped ball into the top left. It was better he did so, since that meant he’d be two balls down. It was an easy shot, slipping in gently into the pouch. The admiral smiled victoriously, looking up at me with red eyes.
“Have you played this before?” Director Krennic asked after sipping on his drink. He held the champagne cup almost cockily.
“A few times as of recent, yourself, Director?” Thrawn rebutted.
“Yes,” he sounded amused. It was apparent that he was questionable of the Chiss and his species but wouldn’t openly admit it. “What about you, your highness?”
“Yes, I grew up learning an assortment of activities including this one,” I said, as Thrawn missed his third shot.
My gown flowed as I paced to the other side of the table and looked at my options. The balls were cluttered on one end, making it hard to take an open shot. It would be best to try and angel one to ricochet off the side and into another, not to mention, I had to avoid all colored balls and the eight ball in the process. I was now deep in thought, strategizing while in movement.
Looking at the ball I wanted to hit, I angled the shaft of the cue and bent over. Aiming for the ball, I hit the tip slightly harder than the Admiral, and watched it clash with the wall then the other ball. It slid into the top right corner easily, offering me a second chance.
“Impressive,” Thrawn mused, making me smile.
I lined myself up once more with another ball, a clear opening being made due to my previous shot. I sunk it in once, more tying my score with his. This made the others become more intrigued, quitting their conversation, and coming to watch the game. The setup was now difficult, as the only shot I could sink would most likely be my last. I did it anyways, pressing my hand down onto the tables fabric and practicing the movement. I hit the ball lower than previous, making it roll into the left middle pocket, the cue ball along with it.
I laughed, making the rest of the room join in comfortably, motioning for the Grand Admiral to take the ball. He could now position it wherever he wanted, looking to the bottom right pocket where his previous ball landed. His expression was calculated, like the war general he was. The game was close, too close for anyone to predict its outcome. Thrawn continued to slip the ball in and went for another hit, while an unfamiliar noise came from the hall.
All of the imperials turned, including the Chiss, several adjusting how they appeared. It sounded like a respirator, a methodical breathing sound that was almost rhythmic. I knew it was him.
The doors opened more rigidly this time, and there he stood, my parents behind him.
He was taller than my father, with broad shoulders that held up his cloak. His entire outfitting was black, with armor fitted over a tunic, and a belt meeting his waist where his lightsaber hung. The most prominent feature was his mask, slightly tinted red visors with a modulator at the front. You couldn’t tell whether he was looking at you or not because of it, and no one knew what he looked like underneath in the first place.
I felt something cold run up my back, seeing the others also find a similar fate. It didn’t affect me though, still standing straight with my head facing the Sith. Everyone nodded their head, whispering a ‘my lord’ in harmony. The cold lingered, like it was sitting on my shoulders, wrapping around my figure.
“There are still a few more guests we must attend to,” my father clasped his hands. “We will return.”
“I missed my last shot, your majesty,” Thrawn said right after. I didn’t see it for myself, but I was at no disadvantage by it.
The crowd willingly turned back to the game, seemingly preferring to look at this than the dark lord. I noted that Skai had disappeared as I went back to playing, taking in the situation at hand.
The balls were now all spread across the surface, distanced enough that it was easy to take a shot anywhere. There were nine left, eight if you didn’t include the one you could hit.
The eight ball was guarding the top right pocket, while the cue ball currently sat between the right middle section. My best and only bet was trying to angle my shot so that it would hit the top wall and knock into the other with enough force. That way it would roll into the bottom left corner, since all the other shots were crowded with striped balls.
I needed to hit it hard, my hand placement carefully holding the shaft of the stick. This was my only option, I reminded myself, as I went to hit the cue ball.
“Why take that risk when there are several easier shots?” Grand Moff Tarkin asked.
“If I were to hit this one,” I pointed to the ball that stood by the top left corner. “I would make it, but then wouldn’t be able to hit another.”
“So, you are taking a risker shot instead, in hopes of gaining the lead,” he finished. “And you have trust in yourself that you can do it?”
“I do,” I said.
“Well go ahead then, I apologize for the interruption,” Tarkin ushered.
I nodded and smiled, bending down again to become leveled with the pool cue. I inhaled, getting a feel for the shaft again before exhaling and following through. The ball hit the wall, clashing with the other, and landing almost perfectly into the hole.
“Impressive,” Thrawn murmured.
I went to take another shot but before I could the doors behind us opened and we all shifted.
“It is time for dinner,” my father announced, a few more imperials behind him.
The guests began to follow the king and queen out, but not before I stopped Thrawn.
“I can take that if you like,” I waved my hand out, ushering for his pool cue.
“Thank you, your majesty,” he handed it to me softly, his hand grazing mine. “You are very talented.”
“Thank you, I enjoyed playing,” I admitted.
I put both cues’ away, before returning and noticing that the Chiss had waited for me. With a soft expression he waved for us to walk together, into the corridors of the palace. I couldn’t see the crowd ahead, due to Vader’s cape billowing in front of us as we left. We were all very close and compact though, and due to my knowledge of the layout it wasn’t an issue. I simply walked with my hands behind my back, as we made conversation.
“Your planet is beautiful, the best venue so far for this event.”
“I agree, I am glad we’ve been given the opportunity to do this,” I nodded.
“Do you explore the city often?” he asked.
“Yes, when I can I like to interact with it as much as possible,” I answered.
“Perhaps I will have to see it for myself.”
We stopped at a dead end, the entrance to the dining room now in front of us. I turned around, hearing a rolling sound, only to see my sister in her wheelchair, and Skai behind. Thrawn quickly noticed as well, bowing his head to her before entering the large room. It was magnificent, a long table with an uncountable number of chairs around it, and large chandelier overhead. Banners and windows decorated the walls, our family crest imprinted on most.
It was a known thing that Lord Vader didn’t sit or eat at events, so a chair wasn’t offered for him. Instead, nametags located each person to their seat, my parents sitting at the front of the table. Next to my father on the left side was my sister, then myself, then Grand Moff Tarkin. Grand Admiral Thrawn was next to my mother, the Director next to him, and a stream of admirals down both sides. We all pulled out our own seats, Karai sitting in her wheelchair close to the table. Lord Vader came to Tarkins side, standing behind the two of us. His shadow would have entirely covered me if the light wasn’t in front of us. I didn’t think much of it though, instead turning my attention to my sister as glasses of water were set down on the table.
“Are you excited?” I asked her, forming sign language with my hands.
‘Kind of, I hope the food is good,’ she answered.
“I’m sure it will be,” I answered, continuing to sign to her.
She didn’t enjoy large events like this, the crowds and lights often overstimulating her. She would most likely be at the ball for a bit in the beginning and then circle around the venue with Skai, where less people were.
“Can you speak fluently in sign?” Grand Moff Tarkin asked me.
“Yes, I chose to learn it at a young age,” I told him.
“Why?” he wondered. “I thought a child would not be motivated to take on such a tedious task.”
I noticed Vader turned his helmet, looking down at me as I spoke.
“I wanted to be able to communicate with my sister in a way that was convenient for her,” I said.
“Even though it was laborious for yourself?”
“I never found it laborious to begin with, I only thought about what it would do for her.”
“Your actions are commendable, Princess (Y/N), the emperor has spoken highly of you,” Tarkin commented.
“I am honored,” I thanked him.
My father made a toast before the food was served and soon enough, we were eating. I felt odd for most of the process, although I couldn’t place why. It was like someone was watching me, like something was resting on my shoulders, a comforting weight that felt protective. I thought it would leave once we made our way to the venue, but it never did, it just lingered.
The walk there was calming. After a long dinner and discussion, we were outside while the sun set, walking on the docks over to the ballroom. It was separated from the palace, but still on the lands where it was located, surrounded by the lakes. The sun set over us, while the trees shaded patches of the path we walked on. I was at the front of the crowd, walking with my sister and Skai while my parents spoke to Tarkin behind. It seemed everyone was still on edge due to the dark lord, Skai especially being unnerved, as he walked right behind her.
I looked at her as she held a death grip on my sister’s wheelchair, attempting to look as professional as possible. My face was like stone, remaining neutral without a hint of discontent. The only thing on my mind was the conversation behind me, my fathers authoritative voice being hard to block out.
“Do you plan to continue aiding the Empire in the future, and extending the contract?” Tarkin asked my father.
“Yes, we hope to.”
“Hoping and doing have two separate meanings,” a baritone voice replied, the sound of Lord Vader’s breathing stopping when it came. I knew it was him, for the first time this entire night, he had spoken.
“Of course, my lord, we will extend the contact when the time comes,” my father said, almost timidly.
The conversation was cut short at that moment, reaching the venue. You could hear the noise coming from inside, the sound of a live orchestra, and talking specifically. Hundreds of people stood, lights blaring as food was served by droids and music filled the ears of everyone passing. The doors opened and an uproar of cheers followed, welcoming the main hosts into the room.
The night went smoothly but rather quickly. I couldn’t count how many people I had spoken with, let alone had to dance with. That included Thrawn, who was the first to ask when he had the chance. I mostly traveled around, meeting people, and greeting anyone and everyone I saw. I hadn’t seen my parents much, but that was a natural consequence in this kind of arena.
The most prominent people were the storm troopers, who lined the entire space. They were clones, taken from the previous war and recommissioned after the republic fell. The way you could tell was their voice, all of them having the same accent when speaking. Skai thought they were cute; I knew she was around here somewhere. Occasionally I’d check to see if she was dancing with someone in the center, but it hadn’t seemed to happen yet.
This was one of those times, as I weaved through tables of congregating people and made my way to the dance floor. I looked at the duos of people slowly swaying with one another, hoping to point out her straight black hair in the crowd. She still seemed to have disappeared, but I didn’t mind it as long as she was fine. The time would come, and I would never let her live it down when it did.
I turned around, sighing almost defeatedly when I saw that someone had approached me. The people that were once close to me had spread out and turned their backs, the reason why standing dead in my tracks. I looked up, as a shadow towered over my figure. It was only now that I realized the weight on my shoulders never left.
“Your highness, I did not get to properly make an acquaintance with you earlier, I do apologize,” Lord Vader said.
“Oh, no worries my lord,” I replied.
“Have you had the opportunity to dance with anyone?” he asked. His voice was intimidating and commanding. Vader stoked fear in anyone he came near, the exact reason why the two of us weren’t near anyone else.
“Yes, it has been quite enjoyable to be able to,” I answered.
“I presume I may as well, princess?” Vader followed up.
“Of course.”
I was extremely surprised but tried not to think much. I couldn’t even if I wanted to, becoming quickly consumed by what was about to happen. Vader lent me his hand, bringing me to where the rest were. The song had changed, the orchestra shifting to a tune that sounded romantic but not distinct enough to name.
Dancing with Thrawn had been methodical, he was incredibly experienced at it, his footwork riding against my own. The rest also had their own special touches, and as the night went on it became apparent that they shared a common goal. But that was nothing like this, this was different. I was dancing with death, the dark lord of the Sith, the most powerful man in the galaxy. He could easily snap my neck if he wanted, and yet I reminded myself  he hadn’t.
The Sith’s hand was much larger than mine, his touch very strong but shockingly gentle. If I wanted to free myself, I wouldn’t be able to, but it was comfortable, not harsh. I thought it might squeeze me to death at first, but it was the pure opposite. Vader’s other hand slowly rested on the small of my waist, circling to my back. My hand sat on his breast armor, shoulder placement feeling unnatural due to height difference. His cloak covered the two of us, the front of my vision entirely corrupted by the man in black.
Finally, our other hands interlocked, mine once again becoming small in his. So far, it had been the same experience as the rest, up until I felt something creep up my back. It was that same cold wind, the weight on my shoulders spreading to my entire body, pulling me close to him. I unexpectedly wavered, what felt like a haze washing over my senses completely. It felt like something had invaded my mind, a feeling I had never experienced but was able to place. I blinked hard out of shock, assuming it would go away, but was surprised when dark tendrils came into my peripherals.
It was only for a moment, but relief came along with it. I looked around, everything was blocked out except for him. I couldn’t hear anything but the music, and Vader’s breathing.
“How?” I doubted myself, thinking I was going insane. I tried to let go of him to rub my eyes, but his grip was far too strong to attempt it.
“Do not resist,” Vader spoke. “Look at me, do not worry about anything else.”
It felt like my legs were moving on their own, and I hadn’t even realized I was still dancing until I looked up at him. It was the force, all of this, was him. I felt helplessly relaxed in his hold, protected beyond compare. It was like his presence was everywhere, all consuming and invading. This was not the same experience as the rest, it was better. I found myself entranced, and enjoying this, as the lights felt like they had dimmed.
Still a million thoughts ran through my mind, wondering why this was happening in the first place. He showed affection for no one, most thought if he was to marry it would be with another Sith if it was possible. They thought he was too powerful for anyone else, that he couldn’t love someone.
“Sith do not have to marry one another.”
My eyes widened up at him, realizing the rumor that he read minds was true. Suddenly, I felt vulnerable, wondering if the crowds also heard his words. Part of me wondered what the people would think of this in general, whether the Empire would point it out in the tabloids. I had no shame in dancing with him, but it could change my planet’s reputation forever.
“No one can hear this conversation but the two of us, this event will not be remembered by anyone if you do not wish for it,” the Sith read my mind for the second time, and I felt my face heat up.
“How is that possible?” I asked. I believed his words; my question was out of genuine curiosity.
“Search your feelings, your memories will remind you,” Vader ushered.
The conversation between Skai and I replayed in my mind. I knew, I just didn’t want to admit how powerful he truly was. I didn’t want to admit how much I was enjoying this. The fact that I condoned his merciless killing, and the fact I was in the arms of a man that could do horrific things without blinking an eye.
“I didn’t know you enjoyed dancing,” I admitted, hoping to shift the conversation.
“I don’t.”
“We can stop,” I assured him almost naturally. “I don’t want this to bother you.”
“No, this does not apply,” the force kept me in place as he spoke.
“How so?”
“Because the reason you offered to stop, you differentiate from every single person in this vicinity.”
“I understand,” I maintained eye contact, swallowing almost nervously, because in truth I had no clue what he meant.
“Do you?” he asked me.
“I want to,” I said.
“You shall.”
The cold feeling that once laid on my back now felt warm, a tingly sensation in my mind that rested gently. The song ended, and we stayed together, the haze around me fading. Once I noticed, I was quick to take in my surroundings, easing back into the sound of chattering. My sights rested on a girl with long, straight black hair, and a tall man with blonde shaved hair and strong jawline.
She seemed to notice too, her eyes locking onto mine, and within and instant, Vader turned to see what shocked me so much. Skai looked owlish, holding onto a clone who had different armor than the rest. She looked me up and down, as I remained a neutral face, but a slight waver in my lips made it clear I agreed with her surprise. She had danced with the Storm Troopers captain, while I had danced with the lord of the Sith.
I watched as Skai looked up to meet Vader’s gaze and immediately looked away. She was terrified, but also flustered looking at the clone before her. He was handsome, not my type, but handsome.
I returned to Vader, having yet to be released from his grasp, his respirators sound being the most consistent thing of the night.
“Thank you, your highness,” he said, as if nothing happened.
“It was an honor, my lord,” I left in harmony with him, the two of us splitting.
I needed fresh air, to get away from the overwhelming lack of space amidst the crowd. I saw Skai leaving too, heading towards the opposite door that I was. I assumed she was returning to Karai, who most likely was outside. My heart rate picked up; I could feel it.
I hurried towards the outdoor corridor, swallowing harshly as I met the cold nights air. I needed something, anything to snap me out of whatever just happened. I was intrigued of all things, a part of me wondering if it would ever happen again. The sound of Vader’s breathing had disappeared in exchange for crickets chirping in by the tall grasses and the sound of the lake water moving about. All of it so harmonious and yet I couldn’t relax to it. I needed something new to latch onto, something that would stay constant.
It sounded like something pressurized hit a surface. I looked around, to see absolutely nothing different, and yet there was now a repetitive beeping sound ringing in my ears. At first, I thought I was hallucinating, forcing myself to create the pattern in my mind so that I would calm down. It was only when it began to speed up that I realized the severity of the situation.
My eyes wandered to the stain glass window as my hands held onto the rail behind me. I looked just a bit closer at it, to see a subtle blinking light on a small circular dome. It was only a moment later that the noise got too fast, and I saw the door at the end of the hall open, but there was no time to see who it was. The sound was so loud that it felt like my eardrums blocked it out, a fire of red and orange fumigating my senses as I tried to cover my face with one arm. It was a stupid move I decided, closing my eyes shut, only for them not to open.
