I love The Addams Family Christmas episode. It's actually really sweet. I couldn't find it on Youtube so I had to link the version on Daily Motion. It used to be on Youtube.

The plot is this: After Pugsley and Wednesday are told that there is no Santa Claus, each adult Addams dresses as Santa to prove to the children that Santa is real.

The real Santa shows up while everyone is distracted. It's just a sweet holiday special.

Wednesday/Joel being a parallel to 60s Gomez/Morticia. Joel being very sick and having so many allergies. Similar to Gomez having a bunch of allergies and respiratory problems. And then Joel meets Wednesday and a lot of his issues seem to go away. Like when Gomez met Morticia.

Addams Family reboot that is in the same vein as the old TV show but Gomez and Morticia are very visibly T4T and Gomez smokes blunts instead of cigars

Idc if it passed Halloween I’m just glad I finally binged all The Addams Family series & Movies from the last half of October to now.

I've always thought that Gomez has ADHD but watching the original TV series it also occurs to me that he could be autistic

You know how, in 1964 Addams Family, they are so so nice and kind, and yet people always hate them, and are scared of them, and find them horrid and weird?

This is point one in my idea of them being autistic.

The episode in which they get new neighbours, they are so nice and welcoming, no matter how odd they find the people. They invite them over for cards, no matter how jumpy they are. They offer their neighbours the things they like, they are certainly nice and friendly. The neighbours are trying to get out of their rental lease, which the Addams happened to be the landlords of. No matter how nice the Addams are, the neighbours can’t stand to be around them. They are not straightforward with their problems, so when the Addams attempt to help, they don’t fix the implied problems. This brings me onto point two

The Addams are not good at reading social cues or situations. This is represented when, for example, there is a guy trying to get the kids to go to school. By the end of the episode, this man ends up convinced that the Addamses are attempting murder against him

They were being nice and welcoming in the way that they are to family members, which as you can probably imagine is an entirely different social script than what most people would consider polite and welcoming

The Addams Family do not mask their “strangeness” because they have a lot of people who support them in their family, and see no need to change for the occasional person who happens to see them as strange.

I love Addams Family so much, I could probably give detailed examples on every character, however I am thinking to hard to think about that

(Disclaimer: this is not to say they wrote them with autism in mind, they obviously didn’t think lets give this entire family autism. The “strange” tendencies they gave to the Addamses, however, do coincide with common autism traits.)

t4t gomez and morticia addams is really funny because you know that gomez would be fully pregnant, a child 90% baked and subsequently his body 90% belly, and he'd be like, excuse me. i have to backflip real quick

gomez addams SO pregnant cheerfully scaling the side of the house during a thunderstorm bc he accidentally threw a frisbee on the roof

a neighbour like "um???? arent you going to say something?"

and morticia like, "oh, do you think i should?" and calling up how good he looks

LOVE the idea of when gomez is first growing his moustache and morticia making a thing of like, grooming it and pruning it the same way she does her roses? and gomez asking flirtatiously if she's gonna chop his head off

gomez being SO fucking excited about tish's new boobs and like. can you imagine him scurrying around to get a scale in the morning to weigh them as he talks poetically about how perfect they are and she's like. you odd and strange little man. and then motorboats him

gomez devotedly doing morticia's nails for her

i love them sword fighting and i think they should have had like, ones made for them and then swapping when they transition
