I'm almost done my next Zelgan comic: Their Dark Puppets. It's 42 pages (black and white - didn't have the strength for colour).

Story: in ancient Hyrule, Ganondorf plots to take over Hyrule and eliminate Queen Sonia and King Rauru. What he didn't expect was the queen's mysterious family member to be so critical to his success... or failure.

The comic will be available in print, then available digitally.

Funnily enough, I did hit with a spin attack.

Tell me how, after being completely flattened and murdered yet again, I then waltzed in there like I owned it and took almost no damage against Maud. Her speech is different when you face her a second time, I'm assuming because you'll have to to complete the game.

The hardest part was that dang orb bit! Apparently, I did not have to hit it on the fly -- though it would change color again when it bounced -- and I could just wait for it. Not forever, I still had to be quick, but I had waaaaay more time than I thought. It still hit me a bunch, and I made it to her third form by the skin of my teeth, but after that it was smooth sailing: enough so that I ultimately finished down just two hearts and with all three lives in my pocket.

So I got The Lady's Parasol, and after Combsly was like DiD yOu KnOw ThEy'Re SiStErS?! seven times, I got the Ensemble and was off to rescue Styla.

i wanna see it cosplayed. show me your legs, boys. strut for me!

Then there was a celebration, Tuft and Combsly totemed with Link (initially scaring the bajeezus out of him but his cheer pose is adorable, good recovery), and the credits rolled. After the credits, Link was invited back to the castle for a present, which turned out to be Styla's Cursed Tights. I don't know what effect they have, because I stopped playing after this. There's no reason to continue, especially when the game can no longer be 100%ed. I'm just glad I didn't have to do all 128 challenges!

So: nineteen down. One. To. Go. :D

I don't know what happened but it was definitely different and functional this time. I cleared the citadel -- those aeralfos weren't so bad -- and then went in against Lady Maud. But before that, I was surprised to see that "all" weapons were available and they weren't kidding! In one of the later stages, I lucked out getting an enemy stuck in one spot, you can see him and Link slightly bobbing along in place. I hate monster gauntlets, but this one didn't feel so much like one. There were plenty of refill hearts along the way and I made it through at full health.

Maud, though. I mean, I really didn't expect to see her here, I thought there'd be one last sub-boss. Okay, the first form was easy enough, almost too easy, and I got through without too much damage. But the second form? Here's the play-by-play in texts-to-bestie format:

We are classy people who definitely don't swear a lot. >.>; Anyway, I couldn't land a single hit on Maud and I went from completely full health and lives to absolutely none.

So should I just try a spin attack? Will I consider this beat for now and just try again in 20 years or will I be stubborn about it? I didn't realize how right I was when I said I would rage....

The deception of Deception Castle is that I was going to have an easier time. This stage wasn't as unsettling as the previous one, but I still had a considerable amount "I didn't know I could do that" moments, like I didn't know the trick to beating that floor switch puzzle was something I could do. The seesaw puzzles came back, but slightly less balanced than before? And another "I didn't know you could do that" against the boss. It all happened by accident. I did not like using the fans to get over to the exit platform, felt unwell like yesterday doing it.

I had to take a break because I was feeling sick -- actually sick, not just the sinking feeling -- but decided to continue after a snack and a nap.

This first part of the Dragon Citadel threw me when that platform shot up into the air at faster-than-usual speeds. Another irrational fear, don't worry about it. XD

But this next part, geez. "I didn't know you could do that" was clearing the jump with the cucco. Why would one cucco be able to carry all three Links when there's always been one per Link before? How was I supposed to know that? When you've been able to theow and catch Link over gaps all game long? I tried, and failed, repeatedly, for Blue to catch the others, and never thought to go all at once (shown after I'd lost a life, hence the mixed-up rupee counts). But the part right after ruined me. I have no idea which air gusts I'm supposed to use because I can't see far enough to know where I'm going (even when using the arrow keys to peek), they seem like they're at unequal heights (I'm playing with the 3D off because it hurts more than it helps (which is so sad because it was such a good idea!)), and I swear they shut off on me a few times or just not been on at all. And did I mention there are like ZERO REFILL HEARTS on the pots! All that, combines with failures on the previous stages, eventually led to my first death, and I'm preeeetty cheesed about it, because this is so much less intuitive than before. :/

I guess we're gonna do this level one bit at a time because ain't no way I'm gonna get through this unscathed and I'll need time to rage again whenever I do finish this nonsense. Sigh.
