A progression of sword designs done for a concept design class. The prompt was to design a series of props and gradually hone in the scope to just a single one as I polished the designs. Was told during the design process that they were reminiscent of Eldar designs from Warhammer. Is that true? I never really got into Warhammer. Too much of a money sink for a poor artist like me!
Hm, in hindsight, I really love that fish-hook design. Maybe I should take it a bit further?

I once again come here to talk about the Primordial One and the Four Shades
Because I think I cracked the code y'all. Let's talk.
So, one of my theoretical points is that the Artifacts we receive from the domains are "gifted" to us by Phanes and the Four Shades/are directly linked to them. I think so because:
1. The artifact domains always have five crowns, Phanes + Shades = 5, and in the Byakuyakoku collection of books Phanes was compared to a King (and royal officials often have crowns).
2. The domains are seemingly connected to Ley Lines and thus Irminsul, having Trees as the central figure "gifting" us the artifacts. I also think it is interesting how Domain give us the artifacts connected to important historical figures, almost as if the Ley Lines "absorbed" the knowledge about them and try to preserve it in forms of artifact. From the book connection mentioned earlier we know that Phanes and Istaroth, at least, have some connection to the World Tree/Irminsul.
3. The people of the past (like, the first civilization I think) used to worship trees (Irminsul branches?) connected to the god(s) (Phanes & Co. ?) in order to gain knowledge and wisdom, so I guess if a tree graces you with a gift, it is not a gift sent by a Celestia but a gift "preserved" by the Irminsul and possibly by Phanes&Co.
If my theory is true and the five crowns do symbolize Phanes and the Four Shades, then I think it is possible for us to distinguish what roles the Four Shades had in Teyvat. The artifacts always adhere to five specific categories:
Life
Death
Eon (flow of time, epoch)
Eonothem (this is a hard one to define, but it may be defined as deposition, accumulated specifically within the earth during an eon)
Logos - according to the Internet, "the Word of God, or principle of divine reason and creative order" (this will help us later wink wink)
Now that I actually read more on Logos, here is the alignment I think might be suitable in current situation:
Life - Phanes (the one who gave the world to humanity)
Death - Shade #1
Eon - Istaroth, existing at each moment of time, Shade #2
Eonothem - Shade #3
Logos - Shade #4, whom I suspect to be The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles (as of now possibly corrupted by Celestia). Given that the Sustainer's role is to uphold the laws of the Universe, I think their role fits well with the definition of the Logos brought up earlier. Also, given that each of the Domains has a key with a cube on it, and cube is the figure associated with the Sustainer, I think it is all more appropriate to suspect that, in case of Sustainer's corruption, they were the only person able to seal the Domains away from the world (and now we as the Traveller un-seal them on our journey).
Thank you for paying attention to my rambling. I shall now go back to digging up all I can from Chasm in terms of information (I also probably need to touch some grass huh).

remuria is so funny, story is like: ancient roman empire-coded civilization, brutal conquest and enslavement of "barbarians", turning people into golems and then erasing their free will through the programming control sold as "perfect harmony", death, blood, betrayals

i love how furina makes la lettre a focalors so much her own dish that you can't even tell these two are the same cakes. she's mastered the dish to such a meticulous level of mastery that it looks like she just invented an entirely different dish from the same ingredients.

One of my biggest hyperfixations nowadays is the lore of ancient kingdoms in Genshin Impact. I wanna know what they were all about, how life was like for them, what led to their downfalls, and how or if they interacted with one another. It’s said that there used to be a unified civilization of humans in Teyvat, and that’s why so many ruins have similar architectural details despite being spread across all the nations of modern Teyvat. We still have very little lore about the Nameless Ruins in the Chasm, we still don’t even have a name for them despite Dainsleif’s quest taking place there. But there’s also strange similarities between the stories of the ancient kings and how the kingdoms fell. I already buy into the theory that King Deshret of Sumeru/Gurabad may be related to or the same as King Irmin of Khaenri’ah, since the Traveler’s twin is the Abyss Prince/Princess, and the Traveler seems to remind Liloupar of Deshret in terms of looks and powers. And wouldn’t it be fitting for Deshret, who turned down the Gnosis and challenged the heavens by obtaining Forbidden Knowledge (abyssal power) to be in some way related to the king of Khaenri’ah, a nation without a god that hid from Celestia and was later punished for it? And there’s sources about Remus, the king of Remuria, citing Remus as a god king just like Deshret. And Remuria as well as Remus were swallowed by the Abyss, reminding me of the sinking of Enkanomiya, where the names of the people are lifted directly from Greek/Roman mythology. And Remus is directly inspired by the Rome founding myth, while Remuria as a whole is inspired by ancient Rome. And the most tantalizing thing for me has to be the lost kingdom of Sal Vindagnyr, where it seems so cut off from these other lost kingdoms but their princess dreamt of events that wouldn’t come to pass for thousands of years, long after her civilization was destroyed. She was born under an offshoot of Irminsul, and had the power of prophecy through her connection to the tree. She foresaw the Cataclysm in Khaenri’ah, the coming of the abyssal dragon Durin, but she had no frame of reference for when these visions would come to pass. Think about what that would do to you as your kingdom was being swallowed in ice and snow, the gods having forsaken you, and your father asks to see a vision of the snow cleared and blue skies, but you’ve already forgotten what that looks like since it’s been so long in the blizzard. Dragonspine and the ruins of Sal Vindagnyr haunt me.
EDIT: I think I figured something out about Dragonspine. In every source I could find on the topic, people usually sort the Princess’s vision of Durin before the Celestial Nail that destroyed their Irminsul tree. I think, since the people of Sal Vindagnyr proclaimed to be in such close contact with Celestia, that Celestia dropped the nail on Dragonspine as a response to the princess’s vision. They laid down a preemptive strike against the abyss and then realized, “oh shoot, we messed up,” because Durin wouldn’t appear in Mondstadt until thousands of years later! So Celestia gets the heck out of dodge before the humans can seek retribution for the destruction of their home, that’s why they abandoned the people of Sal Vindagnyr. The humans were left wondering what they did wrong, but Celestia is the one at fault! Celestia panicked and messed up!

The callsign
You didn’t really have a designated callsign before joining up with Taskforce 141 . With your first squad it was “Oklahoma” or “Okie” cause you just kept butting heads with this prick form Texas who thought he was hot shit. Then there was the “knives” incident and the reason your second squad had the tradition of marking their knives in various ways. Not your fault though. People shouldn’t leave their knives unattended scattered around base. So you kind of just collected them and carried them with you everywhere, or at least till you could get them to either the Armory and/or to their owners. Not that the squad knew it. Well at least not until a mission that got you put on base with taskforce 141. Apparently you had somehow scooped up enough knives that had been left unattended that you had a pretty nice collection when your squad realized that they had left theirs back at base. The look on their face’s when you swung your go bag off your back and zipped it open to reveal about roughly 20-30 knives of various lengths and styles. You still think that they intentionally lost theirs so they could scout the collection. Needless to say everyone had a few extras knives on them that day. There was supposed to be a brutal storm today and you just so happened to have leave for a few days. Something about paperwork needing to be processed as you were transferred to your newest squad for like the week. You didn’t really want to leave base this time around cause the flight back to the states could be fucking grueling. So you decided to camp out at base and just wait til you could go back on duty. The base was quiet that day. Just you, a few squads going on leave, and taskforce 141 returning to duty the next day. You sat on the roof, watching the clouds move and grow. Watched as they went from pleasant fluffy white, to heavy gray, to practically black with the weight of rain. You cackled as The sky eventually let loose. Heavy sheets of pelting rain and high speed winds tearing at the base. You watched with glee as the storm ripped branches off trees. As it crackled and boomed with streaks of blue light before a blinding flash made the world go bright. You chuckled as thunder rolled and wind whipped through the base’s garage. You spent hours up, giddy with watching the storm. Eventually the storm moved on. Only lasting about two to three hours. You wandered to the roof access and right down the ladder. Your clothes were absolutely soaked, Your hair was a frightful mess of storm born tangles. But nothing could keep you from grinning like a maniac. You had to wander through the gym to get back to the barracks. That’s where you ran into Taskforce 141. They stared. You stared. “Nice storm, yeah?” They called you “Storm” after that.
