#isms study tba. #no exactly —— her sleep schedule was more manageable as a child bc of obvious reasons having to do with her youth but since attending TJP #—— she’s had to stay up studying + crafting her dolls & ofc catching late-night designer merch + etc drops. BUSY NIGHT OWL OF A GIRL!! #put simply: nobara is NOT a morning person. 🧍🏽‍♀️ #she usually gets up very early to gather the proper mats to craft her wara ningyō and will plan her weeks around them but aside from that — #she HATES having bedhead.

“⠀⠀“go to kyōto,” ⠀⠀i said, ⠀⠀“it’ll be fun!”,⠀⠀ i said!⠀⠀ well:⠀⠀ i went sightseeing then to kyōto jujutsu prefectural,⠀⠀ran into iori-sensei,⠀⠀ and ended up getting detention.⠀⠀mind you,⠀⠀there SHOULD be some sort of clause in jujutsu regulations to protect students from something like this.⠀⠀anyways,⠀⠀she’s not like gojō-sensei at all⠀⠀—⠀⠀ who’s flippant and wacky⠀⠀—⠀⠀she’s completely stern and no-nonsense.⠀⠀i couldn’t even stop to get my morning frappuccino before clocking in!⠀⠀”⠀⠀a groan can't help but resound as she recounts what was the most annoying 2 hours of her life because she wasn't alone,⠀⠀then.⠀⠀no⠀⠀...⠀⠀ mai was there.

“⠀⠀can you believe it?⠀⠀then,⠀⠀mai was mugging me the entire time just daring me to do something,⠀⠀i swear!⠀⠀i'd have done it,⠀⠀too,⠀⠀if not for iori-sensei taking away our tools⠀⠀(⠀⠀probably didn't want a 呪術廻戦 to break out.⠀⠀)⠀⠀and me needing to be on my best behavior because i,⠀⠀quite frankly,⠀⠀had better places to be.⠀⠀”

kakigori-filled spoon pauses before glossed lips can close around it with a decisive swallow.⠀⠀in one earbud plays one of junko ohashi's songs,⠀⠀ nobara's favorite from her,⠀⠀and attention is just barely given to her classmate while she focuses on the euphoric feeling invoked by the japanese singer’s singing as they hang out in fushiguro's room while he's away on a mission given to him by gojō-sensei.⠀⠀nobara's seated in their classmate's dark,⠀⠀swivel desk chair and she spins it around to face the one occupying fushiguro's space with her.⠀⠀he won't mind,⠀⠀that fushiguro⠀⠀...⠀⠀by now,⠀⠀he's gotten used to them crashing at his dorm.⠀⠀she never enters itadori's room for reasons,⠀⠀though,⠀⠀ and the boys both knew better than to enter hers.

she ruminates on his question,⠀⠀eyes taking on an competitive flare as she finishes off the rest of her treat with a blissful sigh.⠀⠀once she's done swallowing that last bite,⠀⠀she gets up to toss her now empty treat in fushiguro's trashcan situated near his desk,⠀⠀then she marches promptly over to itadori to pluck his nintendo switch from his hands.⠀⠀“⠀⠀i'll answer that:⠀⠀but only if you play me in smash bros and win,⠀⠀'kay?⠀⠀”⠀⠀they needed something to do to pass the time until fushiguro returned so that they could all hang out.⠀⠀the weather was nice,⠀⠀it was summer vacation.⠀⠀what better way to do that than by gaming?

i’m thinking about how some sorcerers ( especially those seasoned + jaded due to years of mental health neglect and lack of proper treatment given to them by the higher-ups ) think being a sorcerer is thankless work, but you know who doesn’t? nobara! her youth factors into this, but it’s more so about her perspective. she has a subtle naïveté due to age, yeah, and it’s true that she hasn’t worked as long as: say, fushiguro for example ( who, in his own way, seems jaded enough despite being her age ) — she doesn’t have the same level of experience, isn’t too up there on the hierarchy — she hasn’t a lengthy history to call her own yet. this … doesn’t really matter to her, though. a “thankless” job? she has so much to be thankful for! this’ll be a headcanon ( her views on jujutsu sorcery, jujutsu in general + her technique, and tōkyō ) by the end of the week because i have no impulse control and nobara does have thoughts. she’s a very good thinker — she isn’t just a pretty face!

nobara's texting style is usually in lowercase,⠀⠀with a heavy concentration on capitalization of the first letter of some words when emphasizing.⠀⠀itadori told her about the conventionality of tone indicators,⠀⠀but in typical gen-z fashion,⠀⠀she much rather prefers the rapid-fire use of emojis⠀⠀(⠀⠀she finds them cute,⠀⠀practical,⠀⠀and straight to the point enough in conveying her feelings⠀⠀).

one of the first things she did after arriving in tōkyō— ⠀⠀aside from sightseeing,⠀⠀eating near a third of her weight in foods she's never tried before,⠀⠀and shopping—⠀⠀was get a new phone.⠀⠀the one she'd brought with her from home was too old,⠀⠀outdated,⠀⠀and its camera quality was much too poor for her tastes in her want to capture the glitz and glamour of tōkyō.⠀⠀she pawned it at first chance⠀⠀(⠀⠀the yen from it a nice enough amount and gleefully pocketed to be well-meaningly spent on a super cute pair of earrings she'd been eyeing,⠀⠀much later on⠀⠀).

class days⠀⠀(⠀⠀+ field missions⠀⠀),⠀⠀the latest shopping sales and clothing + accessories' drops from her favorite designers,⠀⠀and more are all color coded in her phone's calendar.⠀⠀

it was she who created the group chat she,⠀⠀itadori,⠀⠀and fushiguro are all in.⠀⠀initially created with the purpose of helping each other⠀⠀(⠀⠀re:⠀⠀it's really just fushiguro carrying the weight of her and itadori what with him semi-exasperatingly either picture passing them notes or texting them answers⠀⠀)⠀⠀with classwork,⠀⠀it's since sort of become their de-facto way of keeping in touch with each other.⠀⠀the groupchat is simply named 🐯🌹🐺.

to be integrated as a student was to adhere to all regulations put in place by the higher-ups of the school.⠀⠀it was to ensure that students were fostered by a conducive learning environment.⠀⠀for her,⠀⠀who was otherwise rigid when it came to self,⠀⠀it meant she had to do a bit of bending:⠀⠀of which she was capable.⠀⠀ nothing was wrong with being watered,⠀⠀and she didn't brave the countryside until it was time for her great escape without knowing that she'd have to dip into a bit of willing conformity in order to stay a student.⠀⠀in order to stay in the city,⠀⠀where she was free to be who she wanted to be.

BEHIND  URL: my URL "waraningyo" comes from the fact that in japanese wara ningyō ( a popular katashiro made of straw, usually ) are historically, especially during the heian era of japan, known to ward off evil ( spirits, specifically ) and it ties in beautifully with the fact that no.bara's cursed technique, which utilizes wara ningyō ( straw dolls ) in exorcising curses, hearkens back to ushi no toki mairi ( 丑の時参り ).
