Could you explain the eugenicist background of MBTI? I'm genuinely curious, always hated the MBTI thing (more-so because I'm autistic and hate being put into boxes), so on the smaller hand: Vindication! On the larger hand: Fuuuuck that. Absolutely fuck that.

now here's the first thing to establish: mbti. is wrong. it's bullshit. it don't fuckin work. almost like you can't fit 7 billion people into 16 personalities who would've fuckin thunk

now this is all according to the personality brokers: the strange history of myers-briggs and the birth of personality testing (which i reccomend you read because it explains everything way better than i can or want to)

-the briggs (katherine and her daughter isabella) designed the test to "weed out the weak in society"

-the test was inspired in part by "The Eugenic Marriage: A Personal Guide to the New Science of Better Living and Better Babies", a bestselling book from 1914

-myers herself (i believe katherine) once said, and this is a quote,

"Multitudes of people are utterly worthless or worse than worthless, having no just claims whatsoever upon the civilization which they burden with the dead weight of their existence. This is a sound, incontrovertible judgment, which has to be shunned, because our feeling for the ‘underprivileged’ is so strong that such truths can hardly be mentioned. and, just to be clear: pseudoscience is like conspiracy theory culture. Almost None Of Them Are Harmless. I'm joking about them because there are many pseudosciences people still believe in or base their values off of, and bc of that many warrior cats characters seem like the type of people who would believe in things like MBTI or divination, but MANY of these things have absolutely repulsive origins. MBTI in particular is quite literally eugenicist/white supremacist in origin.

this is just to say like. if something is being referred to as a pseudoscience you should definetly look into WHY it's viewed that way bc 25% of the time it's harmless woowoo bullshit (like astrology) but very often there's something a lot more sinister below the surface

the world continually receives prophecies. prophecies have a sense of being and they all Want to be fulfilled (they are also almost all negative). the longer they go unfulfilled the more the definitions of the prophecy will distort to technically fufill itself. this has led to entire corporations who's purpose is to prevent negative prophecies for as long as possible, since the longer a prophecy goes unfulfilled the less serious the consequences of it tend to be. this is only the public facing strategy, however, as the actual technique used by these companies is to find poor people who either fit the descriptions of the people involved or can be modified To fit the descriptions of the people involved and then pay them or their family exorbitant amounts of money to fufill the criteria listed so that the negative consequences fall on them and nobody else has to think about it
