I find it difficult that even benevolent discussions about the Stark sister relationship tend to overfocus on Sansa's "failings" while ignoring Arya's. It makes it harder to take any objectivity seriously that doesn't equally point out that Arya was just as much of a brat, just as self-centered, just as cruel. She blames Sansa for things she never did, gives zero credit for the way her sister covers for her, she treats her concerns with complete indifference if not derision, she's blowing off social obligations and leaving Sansa to twist for it, and she violently (and I mean violently) attacks her because that's her opportunity to blow off steam after a traumatic four days. Because she's eight and just as imperfect as Sansa.

It's not like Sansa's readiness to blame her, Sansa's negativity toward her sister, Sansa's own willingness to lash out in anger is coming out of a vaccuum. It's mostly Ned's favoritism, but it's also the fact that Arya is not actually any better.

that's RIGHT! he WILL! sorry to the surely very few "arya is too far gone" truthers - jon STRONGLY disagrees. when he decides to save "arya" from ramsay, jon wonders if they'll even recognise each other. he struggles to reconcile the memory of the scrappy little sister he loved and the girl forced to be ramsay's "bride". he knows she might have suffered and she might have changed... and then he sacrifices EVERYTHING to try and save her anyway!!! this arya is symbolically and LITERALLY a completely different person and jon still loves her unconditionally. arya doesn't NEED redeeming in any significant way - what she needs is love and healing and not even death is going to prevent jon "big brother of the year" snow from providing it, thank you for coming to me NED talk.

Arya learned the Braavosi language and culture well enough to pass as someone "born and bred" there while interacting with actual native Braavosi, but I'm supposed to think she's going to have difficulty navigating Westerosi noble life...as someone who was actually raised as a Westerosi noble? The way you can tell that people don't think before they "theorize" about Arya will always crack me up

such a shame that edmure hasn't yet gotten to meet the only member of his family truly proud of his great victory of the stone mill. so proud she even believed he could destroy tywin on an open battlefield too! ofc if she knew robb/catelyn/brynden blackfish's opinion on all that, she'd no doubt be influenced by her mother's and big brother's thoughts of the uncle she hadn't met before, but it's not like either is in any position to tell her now. maybe that's the one silver lining of the rw, if/when edmure and arya there's nothing to stop her congratulating him on his defeat of tywin lannister.

This whole Sansa vs Arya shit always makes me laugh, "Sansa bullied Arya" bruh my sister used to call me a fucking whale and i used to make fun of her teeth cuz she had kind bunny like front teeth it's normal for CHILDREN who are also SIBLINGS to make fun of each other "Uuuh but Jeyne Poole also made fun of Arya" I'm a younger sibling my sister and her friend did not want me around when they were together and would usually tease me to make me leave because guess what? They were children that did not want a random ass kid in their business (and they were older than both Sansa and Jeyne). Arya teases and makes fun of Sansa too y'all i promise you that shit ain't that deep, we literally know that they love and care deeply for each so this whole rivalry y'all got going on needs to stop cuz it's getting embarrassing this girls are between the ages of like 8-11 please stop trying to make them out to be bad people, they are children and children are selfish and assholes sometimes doesn't mean they're evil

what has stannis done to "deserve" a better wife- selyse doesnt treat him badly at all, he is the one who is an ass to her by publicly cheating on her and generally being rude and dismissive towards her-selyse is not "lesser" because she hasnt had a son stop buying into shitty in-world misogynistic expectations and think for a second.the man has sex once a year are sons meant to fall out of the sky
