Merlin ending it's just... cruel. BBC could have ended when Merlin put Arthur on the boat, or showing Gwen assuming the throne. However they decided to show us that Merlin was still alive after 1500 years, alone, still waiting. And they could have, idk, put Arthur's voice when the screen goes black saying "merlin" or something in the water that would show us that Arthur is coming back soon. But no. They ended that way. And all we know is that Merlin is still waiting for his king.
