now, your sole companion is solitude. there is nobody who will embrace the you who has been smeared in blood. rocks have been pelted at you by many, and as retribution, you trampled over them. at that time, nobody noticed that the shriek that was secretly welling up inside your heart. yes, it is pitiful. seeing that visage, my wounds often throbbed. now i think you to be dear because you are miserable. as the pain kept stabbing your tender heart, why does this feeling of solitude gradually heal ? without realizing, you have shared my solitude. without knowing, you shouldered my sins.

🎭 Masquerade Ball Starters 🎭
“Did you really think hiding your cheek bones was going to fool anyone?”
“Do I…know you?”
“Have we met before?”
“Are you sure I don’t know you?”
“Your eyes are absolutely captivating.”
“I don’t think we’ve met yet.”
“May I have this dance?”
“You look positively enchanting this evening.”
“I’d know those dazzling eyes anywhere.”
“These skirts make it so hard to move.”
“Some of these costumes are so extravagant. They must have cost a fortune.”
“You look quite ravishing in that dress.”
“You look quite handsome in that suit.”
“Can I see your face?”
“I don’t think you want to see my face.”
“My God, you could fit an entire circus under her pannier. How’d she even fit through the door?”
“Champagne?”
“My feet are killing me.”
“I never thought I’d see you in something so fancy.”
“I feel like I’m rubbing elbows with the queen right now.”
“Care to sneak away with me? I doubt we will be missed.”
“Can you guess who I am under here?”
“I’d compliment your beauty, but I can’t see it under there. You’ll have to accept my compliments to your mask instead, it’s quite lovely.”
“I can’t hear you through that mask. Did you really have to choose one that covers your mouth?”
“Do you know who I am?”
“Do you know who she is?”
“Do you know who he is?”
“You’re very light on your feet.”
“Ow! It’s like you have two left feet.”
“I’m a terrible dancer.”
“Who cares if you’re a good dancer? Have fun! No one will know it’s you anyway!”
“No one’s asked me to dance all night…”
“I feel like I’m in a dream!”
“Can we please go home? This is torture.”
“How did I ever let you talk me into coming here?”
“I prefer watching from the sidelines to participating.”
“You’ve spent the entire evening at the snack table.”
“Can I cut in?”
“I have to go.”
“I’m not supposed to be here. If they catch me I’m in trouble!”
“Please. What is your name? I want to see you again.”

decreteux:
yes , her death — her wish , her truest desire . unbound by the grips of death , she had lived only in the fear of her very existence ; hence , his contract , his oath . he would not disappoint her , he had promised her at least that . this was his love song , the vulnerability and truth he showed only to his witch . perhaps the reality of her demise was yet to feel tangible to him , for better or for worse . all he knew was that he had sworn to kill her , and she was the one person he would not tell a lie to . the exact nature of his feelings towards her , he could not grasp with words but , he did understand that their only link was the weight of their promises .
his gaze follows her briefly , observing her limbs position themselves into comfort . he had always found her movements to be somewhat lethargic , but carried and drawn with a gliding grace . for a moment , an image passed through his mind silently , the only indication of its existence being the slight smile that came and left just as quickly . he simply could not imagine a world in which the cynical woman , the same one who would conduct elaborate tricks on the leader of the greatest rebellion in all of history , would simply accept death . would she really just step through the gates of hell , wordlessly ??
"and you must be exhausted of seeing these ‘ finer things ’ ." they had found acceptance within each other ; such light-hearted reflections were their primary means of communication . but perhaps there was a truer subtlety to his words , alluding to perhaps hidden motives closer to his own heart . "given that you’re so eager to escape this life of yours ."
how irritating, the gray witch finds herself musings in response ; eyes naturally rolling at lelouch’s own insinuation —— for the boy truly had a knack for ruining her fun. ( turning things around, was practically his hobby at this point ), and she was no different. ❝ don’t be so presumptuous. ❞ she is quick to scold his smug response. shoulders flexing softly through an idle motion before she turns around to face him again, ❝ think of it as a friendly advice. ❞ after all, who was she to him, besides his benefactor? a woman who has long since been brush aside in this grand scale of time, can only impart such wisdom. after all, she’s seen it over and over again. mankind being so absorb with their ardent desire that they forget to live entirely for themselves.
shrugging in exchange, she leans on the pillow once more. silence reigning towards her masquerade of indifference —— softly lulling after nostalgic whims. ❝ and of course, i’ll have you know that i am still enjoying life for what it is. pizza and cheese kun has proven to be a great importance in my life. ❞ and oh how she smiles proudly as though she was nymph of mischief. gaze practically beaming in delight, as though she was still a child waiting in anticipation. however, the truth was forever made known: she wasn’t tired of these finer things in life... in fact, it was the complete opposite.
( what tires her most of all: wasn’t life within itself, but rather the inevitability of the end. )
so long as she exist, everyone will eventually leave her behind at some point in time. even he will leave her behind should he deny her, her greatest wish. ❝ sometimes its better to leave when one is still beautiful, haven’t you heard the saying lelouch ?? ❞ to leave at her own terms, how fortunate she will be —— to drift away to another plane of existence.... away from this eternal hell on earth. and oh the twisted irony was that: he had fancied himself as a messiah, was no more than a sacrifice as a means to her end.
