Well, I actually finished my first full marathon this morning...And I'm completely broken, exhausted but glad I actually crossed the finish line as it become touch and go whether I'd have to bail out when my ankle injury from January flared up very early on. But soldiering on is just what we did, and I'm very grateful I had Bec, Sue and Karen all there... They helped stubborn Cheryl keep moving. My foot is swollen, blistered and bruised I've got a blood blister on the tip of my toe and my ankle is for ever now known as Wanker Ankle...Or Wankle if you will. The volunteers at the Moonwalk are lovely and fantastic so supportive,any sounded like they were losing their voices from cheering everyone on all night but they did a fantastic job. But despite exhausted, sleep, deprivation and pain... We all made it across the finish line... We did it. Will I be doing it again? Hell no. Am I glad I did it? Yes as now I can say I have complete one... But I believe I will retired from the marathon circuit on a win... Half Marathon perhaps...full 26.2 miles...? Nah If you're considering doing it next year or a similar... Do it. Train hard in the months before hand... You'll need it. Now I'm gonna have a well deserved aspirin foot bath in my footspa whilst dad cooks dinner. Thankyou for all the support since January. xXx
