Glitchtober 2022 - Day 01: Eyes

"Ninguna obra de arte me ha afectado emocionalmente como esta pieza de brazo robot lo ha hecho".

Está programado para tratar de contener el líquido hidráulico que está constantemente filtrándose y requiere para mantenerse funcionando... si se escapa demasiado, morirá así que está tratando desesperadamente de tirarlo hacia atrás para seguir luchando por otro día.

Lo más triste es que le dieron al robot la capacidad de hacer estos "bailes felices" a los espectadores. Cuando se lanzó el proyecto por primera vez, bailó pasando la mayor parte de su tiempo interactuando con la multitud, ya que rápidamente podía retirar el pequeño derrame.

Muchos años después... (como lo ves ahora en la imagen) se ve cansado y desesperado, ya que no hay tiempo suficiente para bailar.

Ahora solo tiene tiempo suficiente para intentar mantenerse vivo, ya que la cantidad de líquido hidráulico filtrado se volvió inmanejable a medida que el derrame creció con el tiempo. Viviendo sus últimos días en un ciclo interminable entre sostener la vida y sangrar simultáneamente... (Figurativa y literalmente como su líquido hidráulico fue hecho deliberadamente para parecer sangre real).

El brazo robot finalmente se quedó sin líquido hidráulico en 2019, lentamente se detuvo y murió - y ahora estoy desgarrado por un brazo robot que estaba programado para vivir este destino y no importa lo que hizo o lo mucho que lo intentó, no había escapatoria. Los espectadores vieron como se desangraba lentamente hasta el día en que dejó de moverse para siempre. Decir que "esto resuena" ni siquiera le hace justicia. Creado por Sun Yuan y Peng Yu, llamaron a la pieza, 'No puedo ayudarme'.

Qué obra maestra.

Qué mensaje.

Interpretaciones extendidas: el líquido hidráulico en relación a cómo nos matamos tanto mental como físicamente por dinero sólo en un intento de sostener la vida, cómo el sistema está configurado para nosotros fracasar a propósito de esencialmente esclavizarnos y robarnos los mejores años de nuestras vidas para jugar el juego que los más ricos del mundo han diseñado.

Cómo esto nos roba nuestra felicidad, pasión y nuestra paz interior. Cómo lentamente nos estamos ahogando con más responsabilidades, con más esperanzas de nosotros, menos recompensantes recompensantes y menos tiempo libre para disfrutar con el paso de los años. Cómo realmente no hay escapatoria del tiempo y que estábamos destinados a un día ya no despertar. Cómo podemos dar y dar y dar y con qué facilidad podemos ser olvidados después de que nos hayamos ido. Cómo somos amados y respetados cuando somos valiosos, entonces un día ya no lo somos y nos convertimos en una carga... y cómo nuestro joven espíritu libre y cuidado es robado de nosotros mientras salimos del sistema roto en el que estamos atrapados.

También puede verse que representa el ciclo de la vida humana y el hecho de que ninguno de nosotros sale vivo de este mundo. Pero también puede actuar como un recordatorio para permitirte sanar, descansar y amar con todo tu corazón.

Que la persecución interminable de "más" no es necesaria para encontrar tu propia felicidad interior.

Laurence Fuller was raised between England and Australia, trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, after graduating he went into London's West End theatre, including his critically acclaimed performance in Madness In Valencia. Fuller's first film he wrote and starred in; the Australian ABC Network feature Possession(s) opposite Max Cullen and Asher Keddie. In 2012 Fuller moved to Los Angeles where he was tapped as a finalist in the Heath Ledger Scholarship and starred in Pureflix's Apostle Peter and The Last Supper opposite Oscar Nominated actor Robert Loggia, which was one of the bestselling Christian films of that year (catch it on Netflix). Currently his performances as lead actor in Mother & Brother and feature Road To The Well are collecting recognition, awards and reviews on the international film festival circuit. Projects currently in post-production include; the supporting role of John Williams in The Maestro opposite Xander Berkley, series regular role of Lucy Davis' husband in pilot Kick (directed by Scot Adsit) and the lead role of Irish painter Ciaran in feature film Paint It Red opposite Oscar Nominated actress Sally Kirkland and Jack McGee.
