hearing xiao ready to start, felix pulls his lips into a big grin. “okay then, xiao, while i go set up our first meal, why don’t you tell the viewers a little bit about yourself?” he honestly feels a little like a variety show host, except the both of them aren’t in a variety show and felix isn’t qualified enough to be a host for a show. “don’t forget to talk about your band!” they’re just filming a silly little youtube video, but what matters is that they’re having fun.
as xiao speaks, felix pulls up the bag of spicy chips. he picks up the scissors and opens it up. he checks the bag—alright, it has a mild level. it’s the perfect one to start of with. once xiao finishes speaking, he brings the bag to the camera for the viewers to see.
“okay xiao, say aaaaaah.” he takes out a chip and dangles it in front of xiao, a cheeky grin on his face. felix isn’t going to be the first person to eat something spicy in this video. as much as he thinks spicy food is intriguing, he isn’t very good at handling spicy food.
If there’s one thing Xiao likes then it’s his band, Xiao loves his friends and his band consists of friends, perhaps that’s why Xiao loves his band so much, because it gives him an opportunity to hang out with friends while doing something he loves.
When Xiao says he doesn’t care at all about becoming successful it’s a lie, sure Xiao more cares about just being with his band, but if he wants to continue the band they’ll have to have some kind of success. That’s a fact. That’s why Xiao promotes them so much, so that they’ll have a chance of succeeding and staying together.
Xiao nods when Felix tells him to introduce himself and then he begins talking. “Hey everybody!” he waves “I am Lee Dongyeol, mostly refereed to as Xiao. I play soccer and I am in a band” he takes a breath “We’re calles PHOAN, we consist of five members, me” he puts a hand on his chest “the bass player and singer, and” he quickly goes over the other members “we actually recently released a song called “Who Is This Song For?” and we’re planning on releasing an album this year! Please check us out” Xiao finishes with a smile.
Xiao stares at Felix as the other tells him to say ah, however Xiao just does as the other tells him to. “Oh it’s quite delicious” Xiao says.
Xiao’s band had now existed for over a half year and Xiao took every opportunity he had to promote his band. Any and every social media Xiao was on. Even if he was no social media expert he tried his best to promote his band on social medias. He had even recently joined the social platform called tik tok, where he had now grown rather semi-famous with his 630k followers, though his band still wasn’t doing the best, his tik tok was. One social media he hadn’t dared to step foot in yet though was youtube, even if the social media platform was big and gave many opportunities to promote his band, he just hadn’t dared doing it yet.
Lucky for him, he had friends on the platform, and one of them? Felix. Felix and he were around the same age and had been friends for some time now, and Xiao was more than happy to join Felix in a video. Today’s video? Something spicy challenge. Xiao looked at Felix as the other made his introduction, Xiao was fascinated, and then when Felix finished he began looking at the camera. Slowly he waited for Felix to introduce him, and as Felix was done introducing him he let out a smile and a “hi” as he waved at the camera.

the guy seems a bit out of it. perhaps carrying around this much had knocked the air out of his brain? jeongguk decides not to comment on it and instead sends him a sympathetic smile. he was here to help now. maybe it’d help the dude think straight again.
what he doesn’t expect is the compliment but the egocentric male gladly takes it. a prideful, somewhat smitten smile stretches across his lips as he hoists the bag hire over his shoulder while exhaling a lighthearted chuckle. “yep. I like to keep myself in good shape,” he admits with no shame or humbleness.
“at least five days a week- sometimes I work out every day, depending how restless I feel. there’s just no feeling like taking your body beyond its limits for me.” spoken like a true sports junkie he continues to walk beside the guy, staying a step back so he could lead their way.
Now that Xiao thinks about it, he actually doesn’t give many compliments, how is that? It’s not because he’s a stuck up nor is it because he’s completely selfish, Xiao is far from those two things, he is, right? Xiao at least doesn’t see himself as super selfish, but who knows? Perhaps he is… hmm,,, well, Xiao still wonders why he doesn't give many compliments, is it just because he forgets to?
Xiao asked a question, but he’s surprised to hear the answer, how does one even handle to work out that much? He supposes it makes sense why the other looks so fit when they work out that much. Xiao stops for a second to imagine if he worked out five days a week, he quickly shakes the thought off of him, he’s already busy, he can’t work out more than he already does.
“I play football five days a week, and work out three days a week max, how does one manage to have the time to work out that much?” Xiao clicks his tongue “don’t you have school or work to do? Isn’t it hard to manage the time?”
Step… step… step… every step that Xiao took was taken carefully, why? Because simply Xiao was carrying too much, his arms and backpack were filled, how he got it on the train and all the way here was still a mystery. Normally Xiao would never carry these many things anywhere, he didn’t find a reason for that, but there of course was one person making him carry all these things, his girlfriend. She was always like this, and though Xiao would never admit it he hated it. What was we he even carrying? At this point he had forgotten most of it, he was carrying food and drinks (which he found useless to carry because they could’ve just bought food here) and he was carrying blankets, the rest he had forgotten.
Xiao was about to give up and just put everything down and go home, though he knew that would make his girlfriend very upset, but just as he was about to do that a stranger approached him, ‘do you need help’ they asked and Xiao was more than relieved. “Yeah I do, thank you so much” Xiao said putting the things down and stretching his back.

a sound of understanding leaves jeongguk’s lips as the guy explains the reason for his heavy luggage. he did in fact know how girlfriends could be. having to carry his own fair share of heavy bags he can say he’s lucky that his current lover didn’t have these kind of tendencies. not because jimin was a guy but more so because the male was never one for excessive spending or packing.
that was all on jeongguk.
he couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought, even more excited to get to his boyfriend and enjoy a lovely picnic together. first however, he’d lend this poor fella a hand. picking up the other half of the things the guy left on the ground, the trained male tosses the things over his shoulder with ease, muscles flexing beneath his oversize, white t-shirt. “no matter girl or boy, one part of the relationship always loves to overpack,” he quickly adds on, sensing the poor guy was overthinking his words.
Now that Xiao is at it, he wonders how he grew so fit, he does go to the gym and plays football almost every day, actually it’s no wonder Xiao is so fit, when Xiao thinks further about it, it would make less sense if Xiao wasn’t fit. Gosh Xiao is really overthinking too much today, hes also thinking too much about himself, something he rarely ever does. Today is a weird day.
Xiao nods, perhaps the other is right, if his girlfriend hadn't been the type to over-pack then he had been? Oh maybe he’s still a little confused, but over all what the other is saying makes somewhat sense..? Yeah.. yeah. “You’re probably right” he says. Xiao looks at them and suddenly notices how fit they are “woah you sure are fit” he giggles “do you work out?”
Step… step… step… every step that Xiao took was taken carefully, why? Because simply Xiao was carrying too much, his arms and backpack were filled, how he got it on the train and all the way here was still a mystery. Normally Xiao would never carry these many things anywhere, he didn’t find a reason for that, but there of course was one person making him carry all these things, his girlfriend. felix’s online persona and his personality in real life may be a little different, in that the first one is more charming, with words flowing easier for him, mostly thanks to the magic of editing. in truth, he took his time assessing his words, especially if in korean. becoming a youtuber helped him with his social issues though, talking into a camera became much easier after a lot of practice. hopefully, he could implicate that away from the virtual world as well.
xiao was one of the people he had befriended offline, so it wasn’t a surprise that he’d want to bring xiao into one of his videos. once he finished his usual video introduction and introduced his friend as well, he gave xiao the platform to speak—a simple greeting. a grin stretched onto felix’s face, clasping his hands together as he continued to speak again. “today, we’ll be trying the spicy food challenge!”
he gestures to the assortment of food placed on the table before them. “as you can see, there’s a lot of spicy delicacies in front of us, ranging from mild to extreme.” he turned to xiao, “are you ready? our stomachs might break after this, i hope that doesn’t hinder your band activities.” he smoothly added the fact that xiao was in a band into the sentence—he had every intention to give xiao the promotion he deserved, after all.
The spicy food challenge? Xiao had never heard of it before, but to be honest he hadn’t heard of most things before, though he were on majority of social medias he still knew little about what was going on around him. Xiao was honestly just happy to be in a video with Felix, so he didnt mind what they were doing. Good for Xiao that Felix was there to explain the challenge.
Xiao was more excited about the challenge than he was scared, but that was only because he loved spicy food. He was also quite good at eating spicy food, but honestly? What wasn’t he good at? The boy was capable of basically everything. Perhaps Xiao was as close to perfect as one could get, of course, Xiao didn’t at all think of himself as perfect.
Xiao nodded at the other’s question. “I am more than ready” the spicy things seemed unbelievable good, Xiao’s mouth was watering. “Are you ready?” he asked.
Xiao’s band had now existed for over a half year and Xiao took every opportunity he had to promote his band. Any and every social media Xiao was on. Even if he was no social media expert he tried his best to promote his band on social medias. Love, what an absurd thing, what even is love? Is it just caring for someone a lot, or is it much more? Xiao has all his life been confused about love, he has gotten so much of it, so many different kinds of it, and yet he’s still unsure what it is. He’s grown up in a loving home, one that always applauded him no matter how many achievements he made. He’s grown up with countless love confessions, basically every day at school would be another day of him getting requested to meet at the rooftop, and at the rooftop? At the rooftop he would get those love confessions, some short getting straight to the point, others long explaining exactly everything they loved about him. He grew up with loving and many friends, friends that supported him in everything. But yet it’s still so confusing to Xiao, what is love? Because what he has with his girlfriend he calls love when in reality… everybody else wouldn’t call it that. Their meetings together are usually Xiao zoning out, being bored, while his girlfriend talks lots of words. When people ask about her it’s usually short uninterested answers he gives.
It’s so confusing, why are they together? Is it because he won't admit that he doesn't love her anymore, or perhaps because neither of them will admit it. Yet through this they’re still meeting at an event, and like usually Xiao’s girlfriend requests a request that Xiao isn’t too happy about. Xiao would have loved to be in this event, but, alone.

just on his way to return to jimin and resume their picnic, jeongguk spotted a rather unfortunate creature. the poor guy was packed to the hilt and if he didn’t collapse beneath all the things he was carrying any second, the photographer would be honestly impressed.
alas there was no need to let it come that far.
“do you need help,” he inquired with an inch of amusement in his voice, a grin on his lips. when the guy put down everything and accepted his offer gratefully, the photographer placed his own camera back into its carrier and flung that high over his shoulder so he could have his hands free to help carry some things for him. “did you bring your whole kitchen to the picnic? why are you even carrying so much?” unable to stop himself from asking, he also couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him.
Now Xiao wasn’t sure if this was a good time to feel good about himself, especially because he wasn’t usually one to feel great about himself and compliment himself, not that he put himself down, that was never the case, he just wasn’t one to put himself up nor down. But right this moment he left out a compliment for himself “I sure am strong” he whispered to himself… like… how in the world was he managing to carry all this? Was he hulk or something? He sure wasn’t the weakest.
Xiao laughs at the other’s comment, pack his whole kitchen? It sure felt like it… “eh I don’t really know what I’ve packed” he bursts out the truth. “Well… this is my girlfriend’s fault…” Xiao picks up half of the things again “you know how… yeah you know how girlfriends are” sure this was a common thing girlfriends did? Xiao was sure every and any girlfriend was like this. Always asking for too much from their boyfriends.. wait.. was Xiao stereotyping now? Dammit..
Step… step… step… every step that Xiao took was taken carefully, why? Because simply Xiao was carrying too much, his arms and backpack were filled, how he got it on the train and all the way here was still a mystery. his reaction was just as endearing as the first time. smile on her lips she relaxes her arms, swinging them back and forth lightly to make sure she wouldn’t strain a muscle later on and loosen up her joints properly. it had been a good few months since she got signed to royal and her workout routine had increased as well but she still felt rusty in certain situations and had to ensure to warm up properly.
“dongyeol, hm? nice t’meet ya ‘gain, dongyeol! yer a sub from ma twitch channels,” she asks out of curiosity since she didn’t really have a chance to talk much with him last time. only wanting to game back then she had asked him to remain quiet about meeting her there so to see him again now in a way was nice.
now she could at least somewhat show her appreciation for him being respectful and get to interact with an adorable fan at the same time!
Xiao felt like he could faint at any given moment, one of the people he loved most in the world now knew his name. Not only that but he had now met her twice in real life. This was a whole new experience, Xiao didn’t know how to react, if crying, screaming or playing cool was the right thing to do. One thing he knew though was that she looked good and right now he would kill for a hug from her.
“Yeah I am!” he said excitedly as he ran his fingers through his hair “I’ve been a follower for quite a while now! I began watching you while I lived in China!” oh no.. was he over sharing now? Did she find him annoying suddenly, oh no the boy was doing something he usually didn’t do, he was overthinking.
Have you ever seen an angel? The human version of a star, human version of the sun? Do you know what the most loveable, prettiest, most gorgeous, most beautiful, cutest, nicest, most handsome human looks like? That’s a lot of questions at once… anyways, Xiao knows what the most loveable, prettiest, most gorgeous, most beautiful, cutest, nicest, most handsome human looks like, and more so, he’s actually looking at her right now, for the second time in his life. He has seen her a bunch of times, more than everyday, but that’s been online, this is the second time he sees her offline, and she’s just as lovely as last time he saw her. Who is it? Her name is Yuzu.
Xiao signed up for this self defense class for fun, but never had he imagined he’d see THE Yuzu at the class, oh wow was it wild, he was seeing HER?! For the second time in his life, he needed to talk her, he needed, and though it was hard gaining confidence to talk to her, he gained it, and now he was walking her way. “Y-Yuzu!” he shouted out with a bright smile, thereafter he gave her a 90 degrees bow. “I’m X-Xiao” oh god he couldn’t even talk, that was what she did to him. “I’m your biggest fan, we’ve met before but I don’t know if you… r-remember…”

dream chaser
Chasing after your dreams while handling school work also, Xiao could’ve used a class like this before. Xiao begin chasing after his dreams quite early, already when he was young the male wanted to become an idol, so hence since the male was just a boy he’s been chasing his dream. Regularly taking dance classes, singing classes, acrobatic dancing classes, bass classes, you name it classes. Xiao has chased his dream for as long as he can remember, and when he was fiveteen he made it. When the boy was a mere fifteen years old he made it, he debuted. And then he found out it was much harder than expected, the stress took him, the stress of handling school work while constantly flying to China (because they had a bigger fan base there) and flying to Korea again. It was all too much and it gave the boy d.a.d. And in the end Xiao couldn’t handle it and had to stop as an idol, oh was the boy’s dreams crushed. Hence Xiao really wish he had learned stuff like this earlier and that he didn’t first have to take a class for it at age eighteen. But the class can still be useful as the male still is striving to become an idol. The male hasn’t given up on his dream yet, and he’s ready to learn how to do things differently, so that he this time can do it better. And one day Xiao will achieve his dream.

play the guitar
A good question is how Xiao has so much time, how he possible can do all the things he does. Xiao is in a band, and he uses quite a lot of time on that band, they play almost any time they can play. And besides Xiao regularly practicing with his band (and also playing with them in like cafes and at busking) he also practices and plays football almost every day. You would think that Xiao’s schedule would be completely filled after how much he plays football and in his band, but no… no somehow Xiao still has time to hang out with his friends, and Xiao has a lot of friends, like A LOT. And Xiao somehow has time to hang out with all those friends too, and that? That should be the end of it, right? No. It isn’t the end, because on top of all that Xiao still has time for his family, alone time and time for eight hours or sleep. And that should be the end but it isn’t, because Xiao too has time for taking random classes. What kind of classes? All kind of classes. Xiao takes self defense, dance classes, all kind of instrument classes and today? He has taken a beginner class in guitar. Xiao has always wanted to be able to play the guitar, and he assumed since he plays bass it wouldn’t be too hard. And just like the boy assumed it was rather easy for him, he played the tones with ease even if it was just beginner tones and notes. He did it easily and nicely just like he normally did things. Truly perhaps Xiao is the definition of perfect.

yeosangrk
sure, yeosang was a youtuber. he had a lot of experience in that social media platform, posting dance covers and doing a few challenges. he was well-versed in twitter as well, or at least he considered himself to be. the one platform that he wasn’t as confident in, however, was instagram. he never understood how people could easily upload their pictures without rethinking a thousand times as yeosang did. well, now he knew, that a lot of effort preceded posting a single post.
he knew, but that didn’t mean he understood it.
as he was fiddling with his phone, trying to follow the instructor’s steps to edit pictures, he noticed a familiar voice calling out to him. looking up, he was delighted to see a friend, but his smile disappeared as soon as it appeared when xiao asked him for help. “i wish i could help you, but i’m honestly struggling myself.” he showed xiao his phone screen, the image he was editing, a selfie, coming out with a little too much contrast. “might have to redo it… but hey, maybe i could help you somewhat? what do you want me to explain to you?”
but he hoped xiao didn’t put too much faith in yeosang.
Xiao? Xiao may be the closest one can get to perfect, yes it may sound like an exaggeration, but it isn’t. Because truly? Truly Xiao is quite good at everything, even the things he’s bad at he’s not bad at (does that even make sense). Xiao is quite a natural at almost everything, he’s that guy you challenge at something that he’s never tried before and yet he still wins. So what are some of the things that Xiao is oh so good at? For example he plays the bass with ease, he’s a master at it. The boy can also dance and sing, he’s quite fit to be an idol. On top of that he’s at the top of football, not only that but he’s also good at looking effortlessly pretty. So to say it easy, Xiao is quite good at a lot of stuff.
So this was a total new for Xiao, because usually he would be good at all and everything, but this? He knew close to zero about this, and he was no natural at it, the male did something he didn’t do often, he asked for help. And oh was he happy Yeosang was here because Xiao would’ve felt awkward with asking a stranger for help. And though he was happy for a familiar face it didn’t seem like the familiar face could help him much. “Ah, are you lost too?” the young male asked as he parted his lips a bit. “Well… I need help with how to change the lighting, I don’t get it… how do I change lighting on a photo that has already been taken?”
help a friend
Xiao has never really understood social medias, but he finds them fun. He likes facebook where he can see cute baby and cat videos, and he enjoys twitter, it’s a lot of fun tweeting about Vici, Luxe and Yuzu, and he has gained lots of friends from the app. He likes instagram too, it’s a place where he can upload pictures. And he uses all apps to promote his former group and his current band, and as he does promote himself and his band on the apps he figured out maybe he should get better at them, that’s how he ended up at this class.  But there’s a big problem, he has no idea what he’s doing.
They’ve already finished how to pose for pictures, and that part was hard and confusing enough, Xiao didn’t understand why and how there were certain poses that were better than others, that did not make sense in any way, did it? But now that that part was over it was time to learn how to edit, and even though Xiao listened very carefully, he still didn’t get a single thing. Adjusting lighting, how and why? Xiao bit his lip, he couldn’t understand this, he needed to ask someone for help, and that’s when he spotted his target, a face he recognized. “Yeosang” he shouted out as he half-ran over to the other with his phone in his hand. “You gotta help me, I don’t understand anything”

she would much rather avoid any awkward partnering with strangers.
it seemed that was xiao was on her ever growing list of brothers. but she didn’t mind at all, the kid was cute and kind enough to bring out any sisterly instincts she had.
“i knew you wouldn’t be able to turn me down.” she says with a grin, raising a hand to pat his shoulder. “what’re you doing taking self-defense? better not be getting into fights.” saerom teases the younger boy with a grin.
Xiao is a special case, he’s a special boy, there’s something special about him. He’s perfect, or well not but he’s close to perfect. If you asked someone to describe him chances are big that they’d describe him as perfect. Why is he perfect? and what makes him perfect? Good question. Perhaps it’s just that he’s good at basically everything. The male is a natural at most things if not everything. And that’s the case with self defense too, he’s a natural at it, somehow Xiao just knows what to do and how to do it. Xiao had already taken some classes before so he felt quite good about doing self defense.
Xiao was rather happy to see the familiar face, this meant he didn’t have to partner with a stranger. Not that Xiao had much against working with a stranger, Xiao is quite good socially and he wouldn’t mind talking to a stranger, the problem just is Xiao is afraid he’d hurt the stranger, with Saerom he wasn’t too afraid of hurting her, she was a friend and if he was to hurt her hopefully she wouldn’t get mad.
He rolls his eyes and laughs shortly “knew I wouldn’t be able to turn you down huh?”. Xiao bites his lip at her question “well you never know, with me being as popular as I am there’s no way that I won’t get in a fight at some point” he jokes.

she begins to wonder if this was a mistake. self defense sounded interesting, but the timing was poor. saerom had been at the venue since 12, meaning she had a ridiculous amount of time to kill before her next workshop. a ridiculous amount of time to grow nervous and reconsider the entire thing.
the woman was fine in the beginning, arriving to the workshop with only a small list of apprehensions and an eager mind. as a woman, she knew it was important for her to know how to defend herself in unwanted situations. and a self-defense class was an easy solution.
when it’s announced that they would be working in pairs, her eyes instantly dart to the surrounding crowd for a partner. saerom lets out a sigh of relief when her gaze lands upon xiao - familiar face that she would be more than willing to work with. his name leaves her lips and she’s quickly approaching him - glaring at any eyes that threaten to steal her hopeful partner. “hey.” she greets, offering the man a grin. “wanna partner up? help a girl out.”

If there’s one thing that Xiao is then it’s flexible, He began doing acrobatic dancing when he was way younger than one should begin. And he’s been doing it for years now, by now he’s what some people might call a professional, short in short, he’s good and flexible. Now that one mentions what Xiao is good at? He’s actually good at most stuff, if not all (well of course not all, but most). Xiao is good at dancing, he was the main dancer in an idol group. Xiao is good at singing, he has sung for years and is the main vocal in his band. Xiao is good at football, he has played since he was quite young and now he’s on his school’s football team. He’s also good at being effortlessly pretty, Xiao does nothing to be pretty yet he’s always so pretty. In conclusion, Xiao is good at a lot of stuff.

In hindsight Yuzu wondered if perhaps she hadn’t loaded her schedule too full. With only quick snack breaks in between she had 3 full days of different workshops that helped her gain new skills as well as refresh old, forgotten ones and make her explore new territory she had never set foot in before.
The last class for this day was self-defense and while she had her fair share of athletic experience and self-defense classes behind her, she was of course intrigued what they would teach here and how far it would overlap with what she already knew.
She hadn’t expected to run into a fan though. Being in the middle of stretching, crop top nicely in place and secure she snapped her head to the source of someone calling her nickname only to come face to face with a flustered boy whom she faintly remembered. “Wait.. the internet cafe, right,” she inquired with a confused smile, hoping she was right about that.
Oh god was she effortlessly pretty, actually even if she tried to be ugly Xiao was sure she still would be pretty. Xiao had never laid eyes on someone as pretty, and that said a lot when he saw himself in the mirror every day. Every day Xiao would get lots and lots of compliments, Xiao couldn’t even count the amount of compliments he got a day. Xiao would get compliments on his soccer skills, his skills in playing the bass, his singing voice, his face, basically everything. And when you get so many compliments a day usually one would think quite highly of one self, but Xiao? Xiao wasn’t like that, it wasn’t that he thought low of himself, he just simply didn’t think high of himself, and whys that? Because people like Luxe, Vici and of course Yuzu existed, these people in Xiao’s eyes were as close as humans could get to perfect, compared to them? Xiao was just normal, nothing perhaps.
And oh you wouldn’t believe how highly Xiao thought of Yuzu, she was basically a god to him, so the situation he was in? It was like seeing a god for the SECOND time in his life, and oh he just couldn’t believe it.
Xiao widened his eyes, she remembered him? THE Yuzu remembered him? “Ah yes!” he said gladly as he bowed ninety degrees to her. “I’m Lee Dongyeol, we’ve met at an Internet cafe before!” he paused for a second “it’s such an honor to meet you again” he said happily with a smile.
do 𝙮𝙤𝙪 remember me?!
