Oooof course they're attention-seekers...
hello. absolutely hate involving myself in fandom drama, but ifeel this is an important post to make as i have seen a lot of people taking a certain post at face value and believing it.
im referring to this one, made by @/realultimatehater
Tumblr media
now, before i say these things, i feel the need to preface this by saying that i do not personally wish to align myself in this fandom debate. i am a tax-paying adult and do not have any energy or time to put into arguing about a tv show on the internet. nonetheless, i have seen people blindly spreading this post around and i feel this needs to be addressed.
this person is lying.
it feels like it should be obvious with the levels of "down with cis bus" energy pulsating off of this, but it's a huge fucking lie.
this person is a known harasser and has targeted children in the past. they will do anything, and i mean ANYTHING to rack up attention and internet points. they have made bold claims like this with little to no evidence in the past all so they can garner more hatred for certain fandoms on the internet. testimonies here and here, and some pretty damning screenshots here.
i advise you all to stop reblogging the post ive shown. it's disinformation, a story fabricated to direct more vitriol towards a fandom with little to no proof that it can somehow make people like this or attract people like this. this person is either a troll or just plain deranged. please stop believing what they say.
tags added for reach.
edit: i received an anonymous ask giving me extra information on this topic, apparently this person is in fact an internet troll who has gone under countless aliases and will often fake identities in order to ruin the reputations of others. more information here and here.
edit 2: another anon ask gave me a preserved version of a post from realultimatehater's first account, showing how they'd crop screenshots of dms in order to make it look like they were being harassed for simply having a negative opinion on hazbin hotel. here's the post, though do know the reblog is from a supporter of them, make of that what you will. here's another version of the post ifound showing how they'd bait people into saying these kinds of things in order to make them look bad. and here's another one! wow!
i also found a few asks showing how this person would literally approach hazbin fans and just blatantly insult them, rather than blocking them. because yeah, when you detest a fandom, you clearly must stir up conflict! that'll keep them away from you! said asks can be viewed here and here

My biggest fear for Disney following "Wish"
Tumblr media
Given that audiences didn't take to "Wish" the way they were expecting, I'm kinda nervous; the fantasy musical is usually Disney's ace in the hole, their way of turning around in bad times. But now that even THAT has given lackluster results, I'm worried Disney may be weary to do a musical for a few years, kinda like "hey, if even our musicals can't achieve success, why bother with them?" Anyone else have that concern? It may be unfounded, but still

Genuine question, why did you jump in to the conclusion that people liking Emmet or Ingo should be a competition and you act like it is? You deleted your replies after they said it's just fanart. What's your deal with people making headcanons and say it's 'fuck, now people in the fandom are making it real'? Not just that. There is A REASON why you made this post. And it's jsut because of that artist's work, which triggered you into replying "Nah, that won't be possible, because he only eats berries there and he would be starved" because it's all about Ingo and not Emmet, plus, that's like a rude move.
Anyway, after having been in the Submas fandom for a while now, I wanted to comment on a pretty accepted hc I've seen a lot that many people seem to agree on. The "Ingo gets fucking ripped after being sent to Hisui" hcs:
So the headcanon goes that, with the harsh living circumstances of Hisui as seen in the PLA games, and probably having to live in the mountains to tend and have easier access to his noble pokemon Sneasler, Ingo got ripped as a result of such a physically demanding lifestyle, that would either require you to be in good shape, or get in good shape in order to survive.
This has led to depictions of the two twins finally reuniting, where Emmet is surprised at how buff his brother has gotten, that he barely fits in his shirt anymore. I'm talking massive tits and bulging biceps here.
Now, ignoring the fact that we can clearly see his model in the game, where it's obviously shown he hasn't gotten any physically stronger as a result, I think there's a very tiny minor detail people keep forgetting about the whole "growing muscles" process. And that's.... wait for it.... here it comes......
A healthy fucking balanced diet that he prolly doesn't have access to given his supposed living arrangements
Tumblr media
Like, are people aware that in order to grow muscles that big and buff, he'd need to have plentiful access to nutrients and food, right? That's a very limited resource seeing where the Pearl settlement resides:
Tumblr media
An Icy, barren area where it's super cold, and I imagine food would be even harder to come across. And that's not even taking into account the hc that Ingo doesn't even live in the settlement. He lives isolated in the mountains, closer to Sneasler's den, than to any other humans. Which would obviously make the task of getting food even harder for him. Like, I'm not even kidding about this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With no food, there's no way for him to get that muscular. But ok, we know the Pearl clan has Gaeric, who we can all see shirtless and absolutely ripped. So, perhaps if Gaeric can get that strong, then Ingo can, too.
Well, that may be true, but we shall keep in mind that: Gaeric has been living in Hisui his entire life, so it's more time to actually train and get ripped. We don't know for how long Ingo has been there, but probably not as long as Gaeric. And Gaeric, I assume, lives in the settlement, in something resembling a little society, whereas Ingo lives on his own, which would make food easier to access for one of them than the other.
And even if we want to believe that theory, what actual sources of protein does Ingo have access to in order to build that muscle? I've just scrolled through the Hisui pokedex. If we're to assume that he'll eventually have to feed on other pokemon for sustenance:
And there's really not much? I imagine the starters are super rare, so they're not an option, and they don't look edible anyway, especially not the Cyndaquil line. Noble pokemon are excluded, too, because being noble, I don't imagine hunting them, and worse, eating them is legal. So what does that leave him with?
There's Starly and Staravia, the latter of whom I don't imagine is easy to hunt. Bidoof and Bibarel are another option. Are buizel and Floatzel edible? I doubt it. There's buneary (I don't want to even imagine Lopunny being edible, even if it's just at the end of the day, a rabbit). There's Magikarp and Spheal (and killing the latter should be considered a federal offense with how cute it is). Other fish like Basculin and Finneon and the occasional Swinub. In fact, after scrolling through the entirety of the pokedex, those are the only ones I'd imagine could count for a diet. Well, unless you want to include some of the non-poison bug types, that is.
He could supplement his diet with some berries, which are like the pokemon equivalent of fruits, but depending on them for too long isn't very good either, I'd imagine. Because for that, he needs real meat, and in order to get meat, he'd need to go and hunt for himself. Now, we can suppose that Sneasler could probably hunt and provide for him on occasion, but he can't be depending on her entirely to bring him food. And Ingo doesn't even look like the type who'd rely on others that much like that. It's the whole reason the fandom likes to imagine him living in a tent in solitude because he doesn't want to burden Irida and the Pearl clan, seeing as he reaaaally doesn't have ties to any of them.
I'm just saying that looking at it, it's just not realistic for him to get as muscular and buff in Hisui as the fandom in general imagines him to be. Let's be honest here, seeing all the physical strain he prolly has to put himself under on the daily, just to not find enough food on the table at the end of the day to compensate for all the calories lost during the day, he'd lose more weight than he'd gain. Which, yeah, would make sense, then on why he still looks the same in these games.

Idk, where do you get where 'most people decided it was canon' when they're just enjoying seeing him buff and they didn't say it is canon?

Nobody is trying to be realistic here just because someone drew a buff Ingo, but god, chill in the fucking snow.

Why are you heated over Emmet's brother when the artists are just making harmless fanarts about them? Also, you can literally just fish for meats, and even fight bears. Or maybe shoot a moose or deer if that place has some.

I changed the song “I’m A Star” to fit with my rewrite of Wish
Soooo yeah… I don’t have any song writing background so please be nice 😅
But I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. Think of it as “You Never Had A Friend Like Me” kind of song but sang by Star Boy from the concept art to Asha, explaining to her he’s there to help her out, but he can’t exactly make her wishes come true just with the snap of his fingers, because her wishes can only come true through her own actions
Hope you like it!
Lyrics in orange are said by Star ⭐️
Lyrics in purple are said by Asha 💜
The song has the same rythm as the original, but I recommend listening to the demo when comparing
I’m A Star (rewritten)
[Verse 1]
Have you ever wondered why you look up at the sky for answers?
Or blow dandelions in the wind? Asking them to better your chances
Why throw a coin down a well? While knowing that's no spell
Traditions passed down generationally, to you (yes, I hear)
And to some unbelievers they may seem like fallacies
Have you ever wondered why you look up at the sky for answers?
[Chorus]
Well, you don't have to look too hard
I'm here for all your question marks
If you're tryna figure out just who you are
Don't look far
In the sky, and your front yard
In your heart and in the scars
If you really wanna know just who you are
You're a star…
[Verse 2]
What! You just said YOU'RE a star! Uh-huh
Well, yes, but you're up to par
Cause' while I do bring that sweet magic intervention
Only you can reach your own destination!
See I'm more of that lil voice that suggests
Whenever you don't know how to handle all your quests
So even though I can't do all of the work for you
I can sure always help
You get it through!
[Verse 3]
A wish is a dream that comes from your heart
See, I'm only here just to do my part
With my magic I'll make that dream go just as planned
But I'm sure that by now you already understand:
My wish coming true, depends on me?
EXACTLY! huh
[Chorus]
For you don't have to look too hard
It's all around and not too far
If you're tryna figure out just who you are
You're a star
Do you know you're a work of art?
Even in the deepest dark
If you really wanna know just who you are
I'm a star!
[Verse 4]
Some say that's just too ordinary
Like us stars just ain't necessary
Because I ain't no genie legendary
Granting all you wish in a second
Well dear, just between you and me
I think I'm more fun cause, you see
I'm here to guide you and assist
As YOU make your own origin story!
[Chorus]
You don't have to look too hard
It's all around and not too far
If you tryna figure out just who you are
You're a star
No matter where you end or start
We're both each other's counterparts
If you really wanna know just who you are
I'm a star (Wooh)
[Post-Chorus]
Ooh, I'm a star
Watch out world here you are (Hey, hey)
You know who's lookin' sharp? (Who?)
Me, I'm a star! (Wooh)
Oh, you're a star
Watch out world here you are! (Hey, hey)
You know who's lookin' sharp? (Who?)
You! You're a star
[Outro]
Ha-ha-ha, wooh
Yes, wooh
Ah-ha-ha, ho-ho
Tumblr media
I had a lot of fun experimenting with this song! Please do send suggestions on how to improve it if you have any. Also I’m curious, if we had gotten Star Boy, who do you think should voice him?

The reason why Wish didn't make a nearly close 'good execution' is all because there was a disturbance behind hte scene where the director has been replaced more than twice.
Disney doesn't need to change "the formula." That's the last thing that Wish proves.
What Wish proves is that "the formula" only works when you know why the ingredients are in it, and you use them the correct way.
The Princess Character is meant to wish for only half of the movie's message, and go through an adventure that teaches her what the other half is; what her dream was missing. Ariel dreamed of understanding but she was missing love. Tiana dreamed of achieving her goals but she was missing faith. Jasmine dreamed of freedom but she was missing trust. Belle dreamed of adventure but she was missing being understood.
The Villain is meant to highlight the opposite of the movie's message. Jafar gets what he wants through trickery and manipulation; that's the opposite of Aladdin's "truth will set you free" message, and he gets imprisoned in a lamp. Scar thinks being a King is having his way all the time and can't learn from his past of living in Mufasa's shadow; that's the opposite of The Lion King's "Let the past remind you of your responsibility to selflessness." Gaston loves only himself and is always obsessed with appearances; that's the opposite of Beauty & the Beast's "true love is found within a heart of self-sacrifice." That's what makes them such good villains. (and that clear direction is what drives good villain songs, since Magnifico's is what everyone is talking about)
The sidekick is supposed to compare/contrast with the main character's qualities. Abu is a greedy thief, which is what everyone in Agrabah thinks Aladdin is; when he scolds Abu and teaches him selflessness, it shows us who Aladdin actually is. Flounder is easily frightened and looks at the glass half-full; when Ariel coaxes him and leads by example, we see her bravery and positivity reflected in Flounder's tiny character arc. Timon & Pumbaa do whatever they want all day just like young Simba always dreamed of; when Simba goes to live with them, he finds that "getting his way all the time" makes him forget who he really is and feel empty.
The setting is supposed to show off the characters and highlight the movie's message. Rapunzel's tower is designed to be pretty on the inside because of her influence; if it were too dark and prison-shaped, we'd wonder why she didn't work up the courage to leave sooner. Just like how Quasimodo has made his corner of the bell-tower beautiful, too; they're taught the world is cruel and they're not strong enough for it, but they make their own worlds beautiful enough to hint that that's wrong right from the start. Ariel's grotto is shaped like a tower with no roof so that she only has one window to the forbidden Surface, and it's the light that comes from that forbidden world into her dark grotto which literally makes her able to see human things differently. Tiana's apartment has no interesting features except her father's picture, a perfectly made bed, a drawer with no extra outfits but stuffed with tip money, and only two dresses; both of which are for work.
None of that is happening in Wish, because they didn't know why the formula ingredients are there. Disney needs to understand and return to the formula the right way; forgetting it was what got them here.
Asha learns nothing to add to her dream, unless you count "the power to grant wishes is in me." Which you shouldn't, because we didn't even know she was confused about that until the animals sang a song that was completely off-topic and she had the chance to jump in and sing "I'm a Star!"
Magnifico does not demonstrate the opposite of Wish's message effectively because his character has nothing to do with a philosophy against making wishes, and everything to do with power. (He is the strongest character in the film. But because the message and core concept of what wishes are are so bad, that's not saying much.)
Valentino, and Asha's friends, do not highlight anything about her character through compare/contrast. Valentino is brave and all over the place. Her friends are seven-dwarfs parodies. Happy, Doc, Sneezy, Dopey, Bashful, Sleepy, Grumpy. None of that contrasts with Asha's vague characterization of "cares too much." None of it compares to that characterization, either.
The setting is empty. There are no interesting details that teach you something about any of the characters. None in Asha's home, none in the neat-and-tidy one-dimensional forest, none in the Rosas square, and none in the bland, empty castle. Magnifico's study is the closest anything gets; there's a loose concept that all of Asha's friends have to work together to open the roof, and take a leap of faith to weigh the pulley system down. Unfortunately, none of these characters is shown struggling to work together, OR to take leaps of faith, at all, before this point.
The ingredients of the formula are in Wish. They're just not being used correctly. This is how not to use the formula; it's not the formulas fault. If it ain't broke. They should never have let people convince them to try and fix it.
