I can't believe I grew up to be the type of person that says MOST therapy is sham pseudo science. I was getting a psych degree before a dropped out of college. I wanted to major in art therapy (I also studied art, big mistake, I am a shit artist) but to think I thought this was valuable in anyway is crazy to me now. The idea that everyone should have a therapist is just narcissistic drivel and coincides with big pharma trying to medicalize all feeling and profit off every person's dysfunction in a malfunctioning society. It may work for a small group of people, but it isn't a cure all prescription for most people.

its actually really easy to tell when a character is morally gray and tumblr babies need to stop begging for the creators to spell it out. for example, take a story where the hero has sex. anyone with two braincells knows that for all the good that that character has accomplished, they're still going to hell. it's basic media literacy! no matter if the characters are in love, no matter if they're married even, having sex is an irredeemable act that lands you straight in hell. why should we expect creators to spell that out? we're adults, we already know this.

No, I don't think they are "just as bad", not by a long shot. Let's look at the situation:

You have men who, in every country, every culture, rape little girls. You have men who marry little girls. You have men who openly joke about wanting to have sex with a minor. You have men who openly fantasize about school girls, teenage girls, "lolitas" and make incest porn, barely legal porn, actual child porn etc. Basically, most men are pretty open about their desire to rape a minor, right? They've turned it into a joke, they've normalized it, it's their "locker room talk", it's in movies, songs: it's a pedophile culture. All women know that men lust after girls.

Then you have what is called neoteny. That's the unnatural selection we are currently facing as a species. Men selecting women sexually based on juvenile attributes.

If a woman doesn't display a hairless body, a small vulva with no external labias, a skinny frame, a small nose, big clueless eyes, round and perky breasts, soft skin, she's not attractive by men's standards. They even go as far as to call women "disgusting" for looking exactly like women are supposed to look naturally. So they're more attracted to a power trip than women at this point. Any sign of womanhood is considered problematic: body hair, wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite, sagging breasts etc. The obsession with blond women and blue eyes is also reminescent of children and associated with naiveté.

Neoteny doesn't just concern our physical appearance but our behaviour as well. If you don't pretend to be demure, helpless, vulnerable, unqualified, quiet, shy, a virgin, a girl with no opinions, then you're an annoying bitch or a whore. Men celebrate weakness and cultivate dependence in women. They love to see a woman acting stupid.

So, if you're a young woman, in a first world country, with no class consciousness, groomed by a pedophilic and misogynistic culture, being told by liberals that as long as you're getting what you want everything is moral, and you're trying to get the best that patriarchy can offer, what's the best course of action?

Fulfiling the male fantasy.

Yes it's wrong, yes it promotes and normalizes pedophilia, yes it's selfish, but is it as bad as demanding pedophile content? As bad as dreaming about abusing a child? As bad as actually abusing a child? Of course not. You can remind women of their responsibilities without painting them as equaly damaging as their oppressors. And never forget to take in the full context of women's behaviour. That doesn't mean you have to excuse it, but it does mean that you musn't let men off the hook by blaming women.

When I think about it, men always practice separatism. When I was a child, only my brother could play with our cousins because he was a boy. When I was in school, football was an activity mainly for boys : they didn’t want girls in their team. In my study field, I was the only woman for two years. Now, we are two. The men always stay together. When I was doing an internship in electrical maintenance, there were no women. Whenever they can, men stay between them. Yet, when a woman expresses her desire to be around other women, she is irrational and she needs to be open about welcoming men.
