The Gulf Stream is almost certainly weakening, a new study has confirmed. The flow of warm water through the Florida Straits has slowed by 4% over the past four decades, with grave implications for the world's climate.  The ocean current starts near Florida and threads a belt of warm water along the U.S. East Coast and Canada before crossing the Atlantic to Europe. The heat it transports is essential for maintaining temperate conditions and regulating sea levels.  But this stream is slowing down, researchers wrote in a study published Sept. 25 in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.  "This is the strongest, most definitive evidence we have of the weakening of this climatically-relevant ocean current," lead-author Christopher Piecuch, a physical oceanographer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, said in a statement.

Knowing our history is important.

Submission: Silas Soule (1838-1865). He was an abolitionist and a member of the Immortal Ten (a militant abolitionist group) with John Brown, but originally worked on the Underground Railroad. He also helped other abolitionists escape from jail, and was actually the guy who gave the Immortal Ten their name! (Cue 'fish fear me, women love me' but its confederates instead of fish and me instead of women)

Later he joined the army, and proved his bravery at the Battle of Glorieta Pass. His commander at Glorieta Pass was called John Chivington, and he was known as the 'fighting parson' due to his religious extremism (tw: discussion of genocide from now on. I try to avoid the details, but yeah. Bad shit happens). Chivington was ordered to kill Native Americans, and he did so gladly. This culminated in the Sand Creek Massacre, considered one of the worst atrocities ever committed by the US army. Silas refused to participate in the massacre, ordered his men to not fire, and even tried to rescue some of the Native Americans. Afterwards he wrote to his previous commander detailing the massacre, and Chivington left the army in disgrace. If it wasn't for Silas, nobody might have found out about Sand Creek. Silas was shot dead one night, presumably in retaliation for speaking out against injustice. His murderers escaped punishment.

So he's a personal hero of mine. Since I first learnt about the Indian Wars in school, I've always respected his moral strength and determination to tell the truth. As far as I'm concerned, he's gorgeous as well. Apparently he was super friendly too, and had a great sense of humour! What a guy! Probably one of my longest standing crushes XD. I never shut up about him, as proved by the length of this ask, which could have been summarised as 'he's cute and also not racist'.

Oh, and a plaque was installed where he died, and people still leave flowers at his grace (he's buried in Denver, and its a dream of mine to visit his grave) <3

I saw an interview yesterday of Darren and an Australian morning show. It was lovely. He spoke about his daughter and his music. At one point he mentioned that some members of StarKid would be performing as well. I thought about the nasty (always nasty) remarks the tin hats made about them for performing with him in LA and Mexico.

I’ve never understood the hate but I’ve chalked it up to them believing he’s too good for his college friends - that and the fact they were at his wedding. But it has occurred to me that the hate has more to it than that. They cannot accept that he is loyal. Loyal to friends and colleagues, loyal to his loved ones, loyal to his fans. You see, if he is so strongly loyal then how can they explain his treatment of “the love of his life” Chris Colfer? How can he be loyal, and loving, when he has hidden this relationship for more than a decade. Truly, at this point in time, 13 years after they met, why wouldn’t he just say that he’s realized he is in love with Chris and finally come out into the open? Why is he so fiercely loyal to everyone but Chris? There are two possible answers: 1) he cares more for the money and his career than he does for Chris, or 2) the Criss/Colfer relationship does not exist.

It has never existed.

So I haven’t been on tumblr go awhile as I’ve been recovering from surgery. Took a look at Cassie’s site and found this. Talking about spreading love rather than hate and the two posts immediately following are nasty and hateful.

There’s a distinct disconnect here. She seems to have no self awareness at all. She and the other tin haters should do some introspection, try to find their way back to reality.

Not likely however.

Location, location, location. The closer you are, the higher the price. My youngest lives a 45 minute commute to where he works in DC. The same price house in DC gets you a much smaller place.

His reasoning for moving to HK is the exact opposite of a deadbeat father & husband. Sounds like they just recently moved. I’m sure AB was nerve wracking during the end of her pregnancy/newborn stage. You truly never know what could happen. Now he’s a short walk away. Also, so funny that they’re so concerned about Darren saying they’ve “downsized”, that could mean a million different things for a NYC apartment. They have a huge home in LA, and they travel a lot. I’m sure their child(ren) will be fine. 

CCers are so weird. Why comment when no one knows what is going on? They cannot seem to help themselves.

Been busy with politics the last few months. Dear lord, the hate from MAGA is awful; they hate Democrats, LGBTQ people, Blacks, Jews-the list goes in. So now I’ve come from sewers of right wing politics to the smaller sewer of CCers. Same hate, just directed differently. Flowers recently posted yet again about the “handshake” at Trevor live. Per the vipers, Darren met Mia there for the first time. Strange that there are photos of them together when his hair was longer, and they’ve claimed that she was Chuck’s girlfriend before being taped to be a “beard”. How is it then that he had to be introduced? And on a red carpet, not before? What’s the deal with using his left hand to shake? Who does that? And no actual handshake is seen. I would think it more likely that she was nervous about being in public. That would also explain her staying back while he schmoozed with other celebrities after. This weekend their panties are in knots because of an article in which he mentions his wife and child. Like married folks often do. They are like Pavlov’s dogs: say Mia and they foam at the mouth. Add in Bluesy and they have seizures. Today mmack (another reptile) posted a broadside about the coffee drink that Darren likes. It said that there was only a small amount of caffeine in a Ristretto as opposed to an espresso. So I looked it up. A cup of regular coffee averages 95mg caffeine but this can vary a lot depending on size of the cup and type of coffee used. Espresso averages 68mg while ristretto averages 63mg as per yourdreamcoffee.com. Per mmack this indicates a lie, I guess, because how could he be using it when “sleep deprived by a baby”. And how is a 5mg difference translated to one being a minimal amount of caffeine? Thus the great plot is unmasked! In reality it is just another excuse to spout hate toward Mia-a woman they have never met. Review their past postings. First they hated Ryan Murphy for forcing Darren into the closet, ostensibly to sell more records. Then they added Mia because they were dating and added Ricky (because he was a friend to Darren and Mia), blaming him for a lack of roles, which, as a manager, Ricky has nothing to do with. After Glee they briefly didn’t hate Ryan because he was going to help Darren come out. When he didn’t they restarted the hate to RM. They usually hate Starkids because they’re friends. It seems that loyalty and friendship should not occur if you are going to be a big star. They hate several actually gay men like Will, Ricky Martin, Rufus Wainright because they interfere with the snakes’ fantasy world. Now I don’t believe that they will change; there is too much hatred invested in their fandom. Like trump’s MAGA mob, they refuse to see reality. I comment here to try to get through to any fan who might think there is any truth to the fecal matter the CCers post. In case you’re wondering why I don’t go directly to their tumbler sites, I was a follower only to Darren Criss posts as I am to museums and libraries. After the wedding I saw a lot of cruel posts by the reptiles. I commented that they were being nasty about someone they didn’t know. The response from them was to first note that it was my first post/comment and that I sounded like a 34 year old, intimating that I was Mia. Then they blocked me. I am not Mia. I have never met her. I am old enough to be her mother. The fact that they can’t tell a fan from Darren’s spouse indicates little intelligence. They are foul, nasty, bloviating, belligerent bags of hate. Toxic.

As a cis-het woman I didn’t want to post on LGBTQ+ issues this past month. So I’m going to give a shout out to the CCers who have been honoring this month by focusing on couples in television shows. It’s a shame there are no real couples, and so very few real life LGBTQ+ to celebrate.

Sorry, I just got a phone call from US DOT Secretary Pete a Buttigieg. He suggests that I look for examples in government; maybe a couple who have both written books and are raising young families. OK, I’ll try to find someone like that.

Oops, just got emails from Sir Elton John, Neal Patrick Harris, and Lily Tomlin, they all suggested I look into entertainers who have same sex spouses while also remaining popular with fans of all orientation. Elliot Page put a note under my door that states I should learn about trans entertainers who are living their authentic lives. I do wish I could find such people.

Dr. Alan Hart’s ghost came to me in a seance and suggested I look into LGBTQ+ physicians; some may even have made vital contributions to medicine. But where would I find that information?

Sally Ride’s spirit did some skywriting above my house. I wondered what she was trying to tell me.

The more I think about all this, the more I salute CCers for showing allyship with LGBTQ+ by focusing this month on a fictional couple made up of one out and proud man and one straight-identifying man. I’m certain that any actual LGBTQ+ folk are greatful as well. Dear Cassie,

Did you even bother to read “Things I would tell myself if I could”? Where should I start? “Be gentle with your words because hearts are fragile”. Cass has more than once called someone she doesn’t like the C word (I won’t use it under any circumstances). She’s accused Mia-a woman she has never met, spoken to, or has any actual knowledge about-of being a drunkard, lazy, holding Darren hostage by forcing him to marry her and acknowledge as having birthed his daughter among other slander. She’s accused Ricky, Ashley and the rest of his team of pushing a “fake” marriage as well as actively sabotaging his career ( with never a reason why anyone would kill their cash cow). She’s accused Darren’s friends from college of being paid off to support his straight life. She and the rest of the coven have accused multiple members of the LGBTQ community of abetting the forced slavery of poor, helpless Darren: such people as Jane Lynch, Rufus Wainwright, Ricky Martin, Ryan Murphy and Kevin McHale among others. Lots and lots of nasty, baseless words meant only to hurt. “It’s hard to move forward when you refuse to let go”. Cassie, Abby, Rouged, Flowers, and the rest are cemented into 2010-2011. These adult women are trapped in an alternate universe where Glee is a biography rather than a TV show. They, unlike the show’s cast, cannot move in. “Your first reaction to a difficult situation is usually not the wisest, pausing to think before acting is empowering”. Uhm, who is going to tell her and the others that this is correct and they should think about what they are posting before they hit that button. The exception here is Abby; she takes time to twist fancy pretzels to explain to herself why Darren acts like a straight, married, new father. She is unable to see reality in any form. “Giving others kindness will be soothing to your mind and to your future”. With their constant venom spitting you have to wonder what these harridans are like in their lives. Toxic people would be hard for most of us to be around in a regular basis. “And most importantly, pain doesn’t last forever”. Cassie and her ilk aren’t the only fans who believed the fantasy. Most others have moved on. It hurts to surrender a falsehood she and the rest have invested so much time and negativity in but after a time they could move on and perhaps lead a kinder, gentler, wiser and better life

The tinhats are making me laugh again

So, the ridiculous coven are grousing about "the timeline" AGAIN. Just because Darren refuses to nail down the timeline of when he started dating Mia, the tinhats are pissed. Jane and Darren both said that everything is foggy for them because so much was happening for them and they have no context for what happened on Glee or when because of the intense shooting schedule, but the tinhats are SURE that Darren remembers every single thing because he was in love with Chris. What utter nonsense.

Tinhats are screaming that Jane said he started dating Mia when he took her to Disney, but no one said WHEN. He could have taken her to Disney in 2009 when she visited him in L.A. Tinhats ASSUME Jane meant a Disney visit after he met Jane on Glee which would have been after he met Chris. Tinhats never give credence to any possibility but their own narrative. Obviously Jane misspoke or misunderstood and her memory is not that good as she does not even remember visiting him at his first two Broadway gigs. Jane knows very little about his personal life and just talked about a picture from Disney that she remembers of Mia in a Teeshit. Big deal. The tinhats latch onto the most ridiculous things. No matter what, Chris is STILL not in the picture and they cannot accept that.

Both Darren and Jane kept things light and Darren did not allow anyone to nail down what is private for him, but he kept things light and jokey and moving along. It is no one's business how he proposed and the bathroom story we all know likely happened outside a bathroom in a bar in Miami. Tinhats are pissed that he didn't explain it all in a blow-by-blow narrative that they would discounted anyway.

Now they are all moaning that he is ONLY the piano player and SEE he did not say he is the owner blah, blah, blah. They do not get his joking flippant answers at all and that he uses them to turn the conversation away from private matters. It is no one else's business if he is a legal signatory to the bar's ownership or he just owns it because he is married to Mia. Either way, he is still an owner, legally. He is saying that he is deferring to his wife as the primary business owner; that is all. I constantly have to roll my eyes that the tinhats' wilful ignorance.

They hate that he tied Bluesy to his name and life; that he named her after his father's eyes; that she is legally a Criss and that he said her full name on live TV. The tinhats think the interview was a "shit-show". NO, what is a shitshow is how upset they always get when Darren does not validate their outmoded tired narrative!

The coven is upset that Buffalo is only mentioned at the end of the interview. ALL View interviews have the same format: they talk about the star's past roles to put them in context for the audience and remind them of who the star is and they did that with Darren by the clips of Glee and talking about ACS and his other Broadway appearances. Next the show always talks about the star's personal life and they did that with Darren. Then current projects are saved to be discussed at the end. This was also done. What the fuck are the coven so upset about? The format followed what always happens. How is his career being overshadowed in one 9 minute interview? The entire interview was leading up to AB at the end to encourage viewers to go to see it. That is always how the format goes. Always. Why should the View change what they do just because tinhats hate hearing about Mia and Bluesy?

All-in-all this was a fun little interview. It pleases me that the tinhats hated it. Naturally, although most of them said they would not watch it, almost all of them did. Liars!!

OK, let’s talk about Cassie. She has a tendency to post gifs and photos that are the anti proofs of her beliefs. Take this one. CC Darren keeps signing bad contracts, gives over his social media, signs over his POA, gets engaged and then married and has a child with a woman he hates. Mistakes one and all, which if you read this gif indicates that Darren has made conscious decisions to do each. An active party to this supposed deception. Hmmm.

Here’s a photo Cassie posted of an outing? with our old friend Abby. You know Abby-she and Cass and other CEers have for years declared that Mia is a big drinker, maybe even alcoholic, but it you look through Abby’s old postings you will find lots of pictures of alcoholic drinks. So who’s the drinker(s) here? Pot meet kettle.

Finally I’ll repost this. Cassie is a teacher. Here she has posted a gif that looks like she thinks that popular girls are rotten, trash, and easy. I don’t know about the rest of you but I don’t think it’s right to bolster shy girls’ egos by calling more outgoing girls garbage. Seems to be just the opposite of what a teacher should be doing. If you look up to people like these then you really need to reevaluate your standards.

Some of the tin haters are pushing the story that Mia was not pregnant at all. Let’s look at that argument. As I noted earlier, the rescheduling of American Buffalo was announced in early October. Say the stars knew at the end of September. So now Mia has to find a pregnant woman who is 1)due around April 16th, and 2) willing to give up their child. It would have to be a private adoption as using agencies is very time consuming and there is no guarantee that you will get a baby-particularly by a specific date. And what is the benefit of this life long caper? A post on social media? Hurting poor baby Darren’s feelings? It can’t be to keep him tied to his wife. People with children get divorced all the time. And honestly, does anyone think that his having a child will in any way affect his career? Does anyone think this will financially assist Mia? How do they think she forced him to be a father? She can’t stop him from sending secret messages to CCers. She can’t stop his everlasting love for the man he hasn’t been seen near since Spring 2015, or so they tell us. She can’t stop Chris from putting on his invisibility cloak and coming to Darren’s shows. She’s with him to destroy his career? But she needs his money to buy people’s backing of the marriage, and the child. Yet he is able to coordinate clothing choices with Chris, to send signals to his true fans that he is not with Mia. It is beyond belief.

I found an article dated October 8, 2021 stating that American Buffalo was scheduled to open in April 2022, with previews beginning in March. If you count back 10 months from April 11, 2022 you see that Mia became pregnant around the middle of July or so. What I don’t understand is how Mia was able to foresee the opening months before it was rescheduled and to apparently get pregnant so easily. Assuming that the she was on birth control for sometime before this then she would have had to stop it for at least one month prior to attempting to get pregnant. The exceptions being if you used a diaphragm or he used a condoms. So let’s say she was on the pill. This means she would have stopped them in mid June. If she is such an incredible prognosticator, could someone please put me in touch with her so I can make better investments!
