Please do not come directly in front of Monk by taxi. As we mention and even have a confirmation box on our reservation page, we ask that you refrain from riding up, or calling an Uber to the front of our restaurant.

The road in front of Monk is very narrow and a very quiet residential area. Please respect our neighbor’s environment.

We suggest that you get off the taxi on Shishigatani-Dori street or Senshin Bashi Bridge, go up to philosopher’s path, and walk on this special location to our restaurant. I am thinking that the before and after walk at philosopher’s path all part your experience of monk.

Thank you so much for your support always.  ⁡ We have so many contacts and requests, so let me announce information about the reservation process　again. 【Information about reservation】 Dear Friends and guests. A happy new year from monk team! Hope 2023 will be great year for you. Let me announce information about reservation. ⁡ - monk will start our service in 2023 from JAN 11th. ( And all the seating in January is already fully booked. Thank you!) ⁡ - Due to travel, We will closed from March 19 to April 10. ⁡ - I am writing email about this almost everyday, so let me share it again. We start to take a reservation 60days in advance, same time as reservation (ex, 17:30 seating opens at 17:30) thorough ONLINE. I apologize that but, I can not help about reservations through email or instagram DM. If seats are fully booked in online, sorry but it is fully booked. I can say, rarely cancellation will happen, so please check website sometimes and find available seats. I am so thrilled to announce that we are opening our first exhibition at monk and Studio monk. We will invite wood craft artist Ken Fujimoto @k.woodwork from Okinawa, starting from November 19th until 28th. It has been 4 years since I met him and using his beautiful plate at monk almost everyday since then. During the period of exhibition, monk will be closed for dinner service but we are opening as a cafe and wine bar using his plates. I am so exited to share his amazing work and hope that his beautiful plate ware will become part of your life. — Ken Fujimoto exhibition. 【藤本健 個展のお知らせ】 monk / Studio monkとして長年の夢だった器の展覧会。沖縄の木工作家　藤本健さん　@k.woodwork をお招きして開催します。 ⁡ 藤本さんと初めてお会いしたのは確か４年前。出会った瞬間に惚れ込んだ錆漆の器はその後、毎日のようにmonkで使われ続けています。経年で変化していく深みのあるテクスチャー。手に持つと驚く程軽く、柔らかさや静けさも感じられます。 また、木そのものが持つ、自然な動きや木目の器。まるで生き物のように佇むそれには、食材の命そのものを輝かせてくれるような特別な力があるように思います。 ⁡ 昨年、今年と沖縄の工房にもお邪魔し、自然の木が器となっていく過程や藤本さんの穏やかな人柄、美しい暮らしと環境にも触れる機会を頂きました。その際に撮影した、写真家柳詰有香 @yuka_yanazume による写真も展示し、皆様にお伝えできればと考えています。 ⁡ 藤本さんにとってもレストランでの個展は初めてとのこと。私たちにとってももちろん初めての試み。期間中、monk一階では藤本さんの器を使った喫茶店/昼飲みのワインバーとしても営業する予定です。また藤本さんの器を使った食事会も計画しており、後日アナウンスさせて頂きます。 藤本さんの美しい器がここから旅立ち、皆様の生活の中で時を重ねていく良い出会いになることを心から願っています。 ⁡ 【藤本健 展覧会】 会期：2022/11/19（土）～11/27（日） 営業時間：12:00～18:00 場所：monk 2F @studio_monk ※ 会期中無休 藤本健さん在廊日：11/19、20 ⁡ 喫茶営業（ワイン、お茶など） 営業時間：12:00～18:00 11/20（日）のみ16:00まで 場所：monk 1F 写真　柳詰有香 @yuka_yanazume (Monk) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjuJbn5PG1G/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Netflix / Chef's Table started streaming! It was truly inspiring and unforgettable days shooting with the greatest director Abby @abbyfullerfilmfarm and the amazing Netflix team! And really appreciated to all the people I love and respect who collaborated and helped to make this episode. It is a great memory for my family and me. Thank you to all the people who create this episode together, and hope it touches someone's heart.
