Like Joyce, Godard seems to be a great but terminal figure. The most gifted younger directors and student filmmakers all over the world recognize his liberation of the movies; they know that he has opened up a new kind of movie-making, that he has brought a new sensibility into film, that, like Joyce, he is both kinds of master — both innovator and artist. But when they try to follow him they can’t beat him at his own game, and they can’t (it appears) take what he has done into something else; he’s so incredibly fast he always gets there first. He has obviously opened doors, but when others try to go through they’re trapped. He has already made the best use of his innovations, which come out of his need for them and may be integral only to his material. It’s the strength of his own sensibility that gives his techniques excitement. In other hands, his techniques are just mannerisms; other directors who try them resemble a schoolboy walking like his father. Godard has already imposed his way of seeing on us — we look at cities, at billboards and brand names, at a girl’s hair differently because of him.

"I come across Zendaya and I behave like any fan. I ask her for a photo and am surprised at how tall and beautiful she is. I am used to seeing her with her neglected complexion in “Euphoria,” and I’m surprised by the splendor of the actress’s natural beauty. I tell her, and it’s true, that I’m longing to see her in films with real characters where she can develop what she has already demonstrated, that she is a great actress, an adult actress. As proof, you have her performance in the very uneven “Malcolm and Marie.” (I don’t think she understands a single word I say to her.)"

“One of the most surreal artifacts to emerge out of the Fylde coast in recent years lies in the anonymous data of a single CDR, lovingly christened ‘Crap Soul Guy’. I was handed a copy in 2005 and am still surprised that more people haven’t heard it. Legend has it a member of local psych-punk band Cermanic Hobs had found the unidentified, used CDR in a recording studio in Blackpool. Amazingly, Crap Soul Guy’s style lies somewhere in the ballpark of The Residents covering Craig David.” - pastcord

It is likely that there was a         settlement at Upton in prehistoric     times already practising settled       farming and trading when the Romans   arrived in AD 43, but the first       recorded mention was in a late 8th     century document when King Coenwulf of Mercia granted land at Upton to the   Abbey at Winchcombe.  In 962 a Charter of Oswald, Bishop of Worcester gave   six hides of land at Upton to his     Thane Cynelm.  In the Domesday Book   Upton is part of the Manor of Ripple   (ton = area of land, up = up from     Ripple).  Sometime after 1066 King     William granted areas of land to his   followers and trade with France and   Europe increased.  Upton became       important as a centre on a tidal river with adjacent land producing           exportable goods. An annual fair and   weekly market was held in Upton.

@doskharaas says on twitter: As all you puroresu fans already knew, Kid Maeda Akira cried to revenge for the first Ultraman against Z-Ton, the Kaiju defeated Ultraman at finale ep, studied Kyokushin Karate, became pro wrestler, and he fulfilled the revenge. Truly the man of the men.
