Ugh, was having a great time mocking my recently imprisoned rival when I noticed the camera positioning makes it so that I appear behind the bars, thus framing me as trapped in a metaphorical prison of the narrative, now my whole day is ruined. Fuck.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

we haven't had a true tumblr sexyman in years. Sans was like the last one. You've got to interact with artists and writers and all that in order to support us, in order to keep fandoms alive AND its gotta be more than just...likes and kudos.

Maybe leave a comment saying how much you enjoyed a part of a fic, or leave tags in reblogs of art! It doesn't have to be massively coherent or descriptive (some of the best tags I've gotten are along the lines of 'I want to eat this' lmao)

But you need to interact with us. A majority of us are broke, absolutely begging for commissions just to help us survive and a free way to help is by sharing our work.

Not to sound old but...I was getting FAR more reblogs of my art back in 2018 than I am now, far more interaction, and it sucks that times are changing bc we're so used to 'consuming content' and never speaking of it again after like...a week.

And you may like and reblog this post, but these words have to be drilled into your brain, yeah? Don't just reblog or like this and move on and pretend your supporting artists by clicking the like button.

We need reblogs, comments, and nice tags to keep us going.

Sure, you can sit there and say 'oh well I thought you did art bc you enjoy the process' and yeah, that's true, but more importantly...I make art to connect with people.
