NGL, this shit is fucking frustrating as hell.

8 comment threads by a total of 4 different people. After 4 chapters posted! That means on average one person per chapter decided to leave a comment, even if some kind souls left several.

53 people liked it enough to want to keep reading. 4 of them decided to comment. And that's assuming none of those 4 people is subscribed to me as a writer or to the series or not subscribed at all.

Please, I'm begging you. Bring commenting back. We do this shit for free out of sheer love for the characters and their stories and you get to enjoy the results. Please make a habit of leaving comments on fics. I promise it's not that difficult one you've gotten used to it.

Let your fic writers know their work is appreciated, at least a little. Or at some point they will stop doing it.

Hi! And yes, I do have plans to at least try - I’m living pay check to paycheck at the moment, working nearly 60 hours a week. I’ve been stuck on a chapter, been trying to write around it, but I’ve also found, after a comment, left by another reader, I’m a little irked with the fic to be honest.

I’m goings state pretty plainly: I started this fic when I was 16-17 and in the middle of one of the worst years of my life. I wrote it for myself as an escape from the things that were happening, and to be someone else for a bit.

I am now 19, and don’t have the same free time anymore.

I write for me, reader that will go unnamed.

Perhaps you did mean for your comment to be nice, or encouraging - I didn’t take it that way. I’ve been living on a fucking thread this year, so sorry if I didn’t mix appreciate a comment asking if you should “let this fic go”.

Are merfolk dying out in MMR? I don’t mean it as an extinction but are they slowly disappearing?

Weeeellll…. Maybe? I still haven’t decided on that yet, seeing as that was a plot point of OLD MMR, and it would feel kinda cheap to cut out.

Merfolk are in no way endangered by humans though! Human traps - nets, snares, fishing lines, ect - don’t exactly affect them, as adult mers are incredibly possessive and protective of their own, usually keeping the fry corralled into a small spawning area for about 6-8 years.

Merfolk can be found everywhere in this world, with some more “feral” variants of mer living in the more remote parts of the world like the Arctic and Antarctic, but rarely do they actually interact with the surface. Even though I refer to the P4 and P3 guys as the “Morioh Pod” and the “Stardust Pod”, I have to stress that they are not pods that interact with the surface all that often. In fact, their names were given to them by other merfolk - Morioh called as such due to their location and Stardust due to Jotaro’s unique speckling.

By contrast Giorno’s pod doesn’t actually have a name! They’re called the “Passione Pod” but that’s because the humans on shore don’t know that the main merfolk they’re seeing are actually just Giorno’s cluster, not the whole pod. That’s also the case for the Hitmen “pod” - they’re a cluster that’s part of the larger pod, but humans can’t exactly ask them huh?

Thinking about Sale from Jojo as a merman and he would find tiny crabs and show reader and it'll be really cute!

Ooh!! In term of tail type, Sales would probably look like a cuttlefish! I also like to think he’d give you various clams, and eagerly pry them open with you to see if theres any pearls inside of them.

He also likes to catch other, smaller merfolk and drag them to you to show off his hunting prowess. You always scold him for it, making him release the poor things while warning him that there are bigger merfolk in the ocean, and that someday he was gonna bite off more than he could chew.

Like Mista, Sales tends to subconsciously shift colours when he’s experiencing strong emotions. Unlike Mista, he can also change the texture of his flesh. Like turning bright pink and yellow, and his skin gets all smooth and silky. Or turning white and green and his flesh takes on a rough, almost bark-like veiny feel.
