I saw a little while back on your Twitter you were talking about gumshoe and I thought I should enable the love by saying: "hey, seiishin, why do you lov gumshoe so much?"

oh my gosh where do i even begin

i sincerely believe gumshoe is the most underappreciated character in the entirety of the series

He may seem incompetent but honestly??? He’s not even That terrible at his job and he’s proven on multiple occasions that he’s capable at his profession, he just misses a couple a things. I mean he worked with Edgeworth before Wright came along, and Edgeworth had a streak of prosecution successes that entire time.

also that time he got into a car crash trying to get important evidence to the trial in time to save Maya’s life??? and everyone just wrote him off as an unreliable goof after trying his darnedest to get the evidence there as quickly as he could???? (W H A T)

I think that says enough about his potential as a detective at the very least.

Also, this big lug has such an unwavering love and loyalty for the people he admires in his life. He clearly thinks of Wright as a close friend, him and Maya are very friendly with each other, and Pearl is really fond of him too. also he clearly really REALLY admires Edgeworth. HE FUCKING LOVES EDGEWORTH.

and look i know the Wright+Edgeworth is basically the canon ship of the series but just– just hear me out i swear just listen

whether you want to read it purely platonically or romantically (whatever floats your boat) it’s been made abundantly clear how much Gumshoe loves Edgeworth, and he very much sees Edgeworth as his closest friend. This PAINS me because almost EVERY ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS TREATS GUMSHOE. LIKE DOG SHIT. Wright has always poked fun at him but it became more mean as the trilogy went along and then by Trials and Tribulations, Edgeworth is almost always absolutely roasting Gumshoe. (wtf Shu Takumi why would you do this).

Franziska has always been an asshole to everyone, so while its still unwarranted for her to beat the absolute shit out of Gumshoe, she just does that to everyone. Maya and Pearl have almost never been mean to him, which makes me a little happier.

I just recently started playing Ace Attorney Investigations and the way Edgeworth treats Gumshoe honestly makes me feel a little ill…… I know its meant to be funny, but honestly, it just seems completely unwarranted. He doesn’t deserve any of that.

anyway i just think he’s really neat and a lot of people tend to focus on other characters (and i mean fine, to each their own) but like i remember searching online for any Gumshoe content in the fandom and there… isn’t much. which make me really sad! he’s such a nice guy in general. and he’s cute to boot!
