demonmaxwell:
“Is that so? Working for your… Grunkle you say? What a peculiar thing, what a peculiar thing indeed.” Maxwell continued to stare at the young boy, marveling at the thought of someone working so young. “Then again, it is no factory… clearly much worse places to be working than here.”
Tumblr media
He could certainly at least find the amusement out of just how suspicious he must be looking to this boy. But being able to look so suspicious and leave people guessing exactly what he was planning was how he best operated. A guessing game where no one knew the answer. Not even himself.
“You know, have you ever gone camping, pal? Been out in the great outdoors and what not?”
Run.      The urge to get away from this creep, far away, was almost too strong of a pull for his body to ignore. The way this stranger spoke, his unsettling smile, even his presence alone was making his mind scream danger, danger, red alert. There was nothing Dipper found trustworthy about him and it wasn’t just his paranoia putting him on edge this time. He didn’t even want to open his mouth to speak, he just wanted this man to turn around and walk out of the shop just as quickly as he walked in.      But... Dipper knew he couldn’t toss a customer out, not only would Grunkle Stan scold him for chasing away a potential buck, but he also couldn’t think of a way to effectively get him out. He doubted he could lie, this guy seemed like he’d be able to see straight through his falsehoods. Balling his hands into tight fists by his sides, Dipper gave a small shrug of his shoulders.
Tumblr media
“Yeah... I have. I, uh... guess this would be like camping if I wasn’t sleeping in a house.”

demonmaxwell:
“Satisfied, yes? Well, thank you very much for this little thing here…” Maxwell took the odd object in hand, looking at it once more closely. Truly a strange thing, but amusing all the same.
Tumblr media
“Though… now that you say it…”
His gaze turned towards the boy who was helping him. “Tell me, what is a young child doing in a store? Shouldn’t you be enjoying yourself? Having fun, perhaps running about with friends and what not? I mean, you’re still a bit too young to be working in retail, yes?”
He gave a small shrug of his shoulders, “This is my Grunkle’s store... I’m staying with him for the summer, so he’s had me help around the shop while I’m here, but we do plenty of fun stuff when I’m not working though, so it’s not all bad...”
Tumblr media
There was something about this guy that didn’t sit right with Dipper. He looked fine, sounded fine, but there was just something he couldn’t put his finger on. Who comes to Gravity Falls in a suit like that? Who just drops a chunk of gold on the table like it’s just a bag of pennies? Though he was sure Mabel would just tell him he was being paranoid again, he was probably just some eccentric rich guy, but Mabel had been wrong about things like that before.

demonmaxwell:
“Not real? Well, let me check…”
With a single motion, Maxwell brought the nugget to his mouth. And then bit it. With a short chuckle, the demon slowly lowered the nugget and placed it on the counter top, a grin quite visible on his face.
Tumblr media
“Well, I can say that it feels quite real, pal. Quite real indeed. Of course, if you’re not willing to take such a thing, then very well, I could always go elsewhere. Somewhere else more willing to relieve me of such goods.”
“Wait! Wait... I... just let me see it,” Despite how strange the whole thing was, Dipper didn’t want Grunkle Stan throwing a fit over some lost cash, especially when the cash in question was possibly a pure gold nugget. Maybe this guy was just crazy rich... or maybe just crazy. Lifting the gold up closer to his face, Dipper gave it a quick inspection. He didn’t really know how to test if it was real gold, but he could at least say he tried.
Tumblr media
“I... guess I could take it? Here...” While still holding the nugget in one hand, Dipper moved one of the stuffed animals closer towards the stranger. “Will that... be all for today?”

demonmaxwell:
“No refunds? How unexpected… yet not entirely unknown…”
Taking a moment to walk up to where the register was, Maxwell set the strange bauble on the table before he began reaching into his jacket.
Tumblr media
“Hmm… I wonder, what would you say about taking this in return for this little thing?” Pulling his hand out of his jacket, the demon slowly opened his palm, revealing a rather minuscule yellow rock. One that shined and shimmered in the light.
“I feel this would suffice, I imagine?”
Dipper already began to ready himself at the register as he watched the man peruse his pockets for whatever form of payment he chose, eyeing the strange object he decided to display. He couldn’t tell what it was exactly, but his attention was soon drawn away from it at the stranger pulled out a glittering object from his pocket and held it out. Gold.
Tumblr media
“Is... is this real?” Why would this guy pay real gold for this joke of a souvenir? The size of that nugget was definitely more than a measly 15 dollars, but Dipper had to be sure this wasn’t some fool’s gold. He didn’t need Stan having a heart attack over fake gold. “I... are you sure you’d want to pay with that? It’s, uh... that’s probably worth a lot more than this thing...”

demonmaxwell:
“The Six-Pack O’ Lope?” The demon responded with a confused voice. What a mysterious creature it was. Yet one that tickled enough of the demon’s fancy that he considered how humorous it could be to replicate such a strange being.
Tumblr media
“Oh, very well, it seems to amuse me enough. Here, I wish to purchase such a thing, boy. Please tell me how much it may cost so that I may spend whatever wealth I have on such a little trinket as this.”
Wow. Either this guy was just like those other poor saps, or he just founds, shockingly, one of Stan’s creations cute... though, Mabel probably found some of the stuffed things in here cute too. Dipper would never admit it if he did, he just found the whole thing silly anyway.
Tumblr media
“Uh... 15 dollars, checks not accepted, and no refunds...” While Dipper might argue it was too expensive for just some lousy stuffed animal, this place was a tourist trap. Anything with the word ‘Gift Shop’ was guaranteed to charge at least five times more for things than they were worth.

“Hmm…”
The demon hummed to himself as he carefully appraised the strange item that was laying on the counter top. A stitched together item, perhaps? Or some sort of creature that it was supposedly proclaiming it was? Maxwell couldn’t care either way. What mattered was that such a thing caught his mild interest.
“Ah, yes, you there, boy, could you tell me what this thing is? I wish to know if it is worth my time and money.”
While Dipper would have told the guy that, in his honest opinion, everything in this store was basically worthless, he couldn’t exactly come out and speak his mind. Grunkle Stan had a business to run and despite being family, he still had to work for him and that included lying about how great the novelty trash was.
Tumblr media
“Oh, uh... that’s a handcrafted replica of the Six-Pack O’ Lope. You can find the ‘real’ thing in the museum over there,” Dipper pointed passed the man towards the doorway that led to Stan’s painfully fake monsters. It still amazed him how easily people were tricked by all these stitched together phonies.

“Oh, whoa, so you guys look for this stuff to!?”
Tumblr media
It wasn’t often Dipper found a fellow mystery hunter, especially not one he could trust with the book, so it was always exciting to run into someone else that shared his love for the supernatural. “Yeah, Gravity Falls doesn’t have anything you’ve ever seen before,” Though, it’s not often you really see something supernatural, is it?
+1 hugged the Purple Teddy Bear

Tumblr media
“Well, we’ve stumbled into a lot of supernatural. Usually, we try seeing what it is before we really run if it starts biting at us. Though I do wish to see some ancient religious creatures like from Egyptian or maybe Mayan culture. But I haven’t seen any around here”

Gravity Falls RP Starters
“You can’t force someone to love you. The best you can do is strive to be someone worth loving.”
“When there’s no cops around, anything’s legal!”
“Studies show that owning a ladder is more dangerous that a loaded gun. That’s why I own ten guns, just in case some maniac tries to sneak in here with a ladder!”
“Dude, am I a side character?!”
“Don’t you know what it’s like to fall for someone… Even though you know in your heart that it’ll probably never work out? But you’d do anything for that person?”
“It’s funny how dumb you are.”
“I’m legalizing everything!”
“Time is dead and meaning has no meaning.”
“You’re scared of growing up. And who could blame you… I’m scared, too.”
“I am the god of destruction!”
“You’re laughing at frequencies only dogs should hear.”
“Princess Unattainable beckons you.”
“I decapitated Larry King.”
“That sounds like a dumb idea for poopheads.”
“Perfect boys… Always going through my trash. Wait, what?”
“I prefer to roll my dice in Vegas.”
“Look at these noodle arms!”
“Tickling is no laughing matter.”
“You’re just a big ol’ dummy dum!”
“Goodbye, childhood.”
“Love is real and it’s in your face!”
“Look into my eyes! Do you really think I’m a bad guy?”
“I must say, you’re a lot more evil than I remembered!”
“I ate a man alive tonight.”

I think one of my favorite things, looking back at the finale, is the ultimate fate of Bill Cipher. Not only was he completely and utterly destroyed by Stan, but he also:
Had his statue form chucked down a hole and ended up in a remote part of Oregon rather than a heavily populated area
Had to enlist random nerds from around the world in his plan to gain form again
The nerds quickly became sidetracked by an enormous jigsaw puzzle that took weeks to finish
When the nerds finally found him, the first person to shake his hand was a baby, who was too much young to make any sort of deal with a demon
Bill was quickly apprehended by the local authorities for trespassing and had to spend the night in jail
Said authorities also managed to lose track of Bill’s hat
Finally found a home at Confusion Hill, where he was promptly stapled to a tree and will remain there, alone and hatless, until the heat death of the universe
Really, this is the best outcome I could have ever hoped for with a villain this terrible. I would say his fate in our dimension is poetic justice or irony of some kind, but then where would the “Jason Ritter’s puzzle reaction” meme fit into all this?
