Okay, watched the video-

Honestly, the first words out of Steven’s mouth being “we messed up” made me breathe a sigh of relief. I feel like there was no call for pity, no “woe is us,” and they directly pointed out and addressed, and then apologized for points that were brought up by fans, and then made changes when they could to the WatcherTV platform so it could ACTUALLY be accessible for everyone. So like, while I am still disappointed the original Friday video was made at all, this is a good start to rebuilding the trust their audience had in them.

Even if everything else was fine with this (spoiler: it's not) the new Watcher platform being credit card-only makes it literally impossible to buy a subscription for so many people

Also, it doesn't seem to have a comment section under the videos (standard for streaming services, I guess). Like, as if the comment section isn't a huge part of the community aspect, which is kinda part of the shared enjoyment of their shows?

Honestly, I would probably buy a month whenever a complete season of Puppet History has dropped but it's pretty much impossible due to the credit card thing anyway

Gonna be real, I’ll regain most of my respect for Watcher and the team back if they walk back on this decision. It’ll show that they at least listen to the loyal fanbase they’ve created over the years.

But still, what an absolute gut punch.

When my family was going through hard times and couldn’t afford any kind of streaming service or cable, I’d put on YouTube and I’d watch Puppet History or Dish Granted with my dad and brother, and this was back when Netflix was CHEAPER.

Most of your fanbase is broke students, Watcher, we really can’t be paying for this.
