people can be aromantic and not asexual. People can be asexual and not aromatic. Holy shit I wish people didn’t use those terms interchangeably.

this applies to real life, of course, but I see people in fandom do this all the time. A character can be aromantic coded and not asexual coded and vis versa. not every aspec coded character is aroace and I wish more people recognized that some characters are better read as aroallo

One thing that I don’t think some allosexuals understand is that when ace people are kind of marveling at how much allosexuals care bout sex that is not us saying y’all are “sex obsessed.”

Like allos really get mad saying “stop hypersexualizihg us! Sex isn’t all we think about!” etc but you’re misunderstanding.

The source of our shock isn’t necessarily that you care sooooo muchhhh (although some of y’all do which is literally fine) about sex. It’s that you care like.. at all?

Like (speaking for myself anyway) even the simplest fact that people take sexual attraction into account when choosing a life partner is baffling to me, not because that’s just sooooo sexualllll but because that is just never ever in my calculations for anything ever so when I’m reminded of that fact, it kind of catches me off guard sometimes.

Tl;dr: not every joke made by aces about allos is some sex shaming attack. It’s just that y’all experience something we don’t and make decisions based on that experience so naturally our response is a (good natured) “lol wut”

Full circle moment: the guy I developed a crush on during band camp, became friends with, never did anything about it, lost the crush with time and him getting a gf who's one of my other friends, stayed band friends this entire concert season fake-proposed to me during a goof song (we were supposed to be as funny and unpredictable as possible) after getting rejected from the first fake-proposal of the gal on his other side and I rejected him, all with this concert being on the second to last day of class
