Plus, if you know at least a little bit of Japanese to be able to perceive this scene aurally, then it gets even more hilarious.

You see, in such sentences, Japanese do not use "me". They use nouns to describe themselves.

Like, if a mother wanted to say "You should listen to me" to her child in Japanese, she would say "You should listen to [your] mother", doesn't matter that she is talking about herself.

In such cases, who the speaker actually means, is derived from the context.

So, theoretically, if Askeladd were to talk about himself with this sentence, it would be exactly the same, as he says it here!😂 "Sōiu tokoro oyaji ni na no ka nē" - "that's where you are just like dad" (if we translate it literally).

And the fact that we know after London battle, Askeladd does indeed change his usual tactic of running away from a lost fight and actually does go all in - it's such an amazing self-fulfilling prophecy/foreshadowing.
