This blog has received several questions regarding fans concern about Gotham’s final season only receiving ten episodes, and asking what can be done about it, along with the possibility of more season on a different platform or network. Fandom interest can be best expressed through Twitter.

More Episodes for Season 5:

The Twitters that hold power or at least have more of a say in how many episodes a series has should be tagged in these tweets, to fully get the message across, or at least cue those running them that this maybe be the start of another fan interest. The twitter accounts suggested for tagging are as follows:

Using Twitter is the best option to getting fan opinions across, along with one or two hashtags. Only the first two are “counted” towards a Twitter movement Tumblr user @robinllordtaylor​​ made a recent post, suggesting the use of the hashtag #savegotham. The hashtag that also has the most usage when it comes to this subject has been #givegotham22episodes.

More Seasons of Gotham:

Getting across the message that Gotham fans would like it to continue after it has concluded on FOX, on another network or streaming service should be a separate tweet. Again, this is because of hashtage usage, combining too many into one tweet will only result in the first one being “seen” by those tracking such social content. Suggested hashtags are #pickupgotham and #savegotham, as they have the greatest reach so far, along with being used the most.

Again, please consider the face of the fandom you are putting forth in your tweets when you do this. Tweets that are angry, vindictive, abusive, or hateful will not help this cause. Networks are less likely to add episodes or pick up a show who’s fans are posting malicious (no matter how passionate) messages and tagging them in it. It may in fact, have the opposite effect, making them want to distance themselves from the possibility at all.

Nothing is guaranteed of course, but effort is better than nothing to get the ball rolling and the idea out there that fans would like another full season of Gotham during Season 5, along with more seasons.

Alfred's backstory mentioned in Gotham prequel novel Dawn of Darkness.

This book gives more info and insight into the Wayne’s loyal butler and his past. As this is an official prequel novel, this is about as canon as it can be unless the show directly contradicts it.

- served in the royal marines, got a Military Cross and saved an entire regiment on a mission in Kazakhstan

- spent a few years at Scotland Yard

- worked with MI3 and received a license to kill and went on numerous classified missions and gained many enemies

- on 2 occasions, he narrowly escaped assassins targeting him

- in an attempt at a calmer life, he took a job with a private army in the middle east that protected the interests of multinational corporations and during assignment in Libya, he met Thomas Wayne who was one of the army’s financiers

- he and Thomas became friends and stayed in touch for the next few years, Alfred was happy to learn when the Waynes had a baby boy

- when Bruce was two years old, Alfred finally met him and Martha during a Wayne family vacation in England

- 2 year old Bruce got along well with Alfred, always smiling and wanting to play with him all the time, which Martha and Thomas thought unusual because Bruce usually acted shy and distrusting around strangers

- Thomas knew Alfred had enemies continuing trying to target him and offered Alfred the butler position to get away from it all and move to Gotham

- Alfred declined the offer at first because it seemed too dramatic a change of life and he had no experience, and also he was in love for many years with a former french spy named Gabrielle and knew she wouldn’t want to move since she had family in Paris

- few weeks later when Alfred and Gabrielle were at dinner at a restaurant, two men entered and tried to kill him, Alfred shot and killed them both but a bullet from one of the two gunmen had killed Gabrielle

- Alfred blamed himself and was emotionally devastated, he hunted and killed the man who ordered the hit, but knew he couldn’t stay in England any longer because his enemies will just continue the cycle of violence and the place had too many memories of Gabrielle so he phoned Thomas and took the butler job and left for Gotham

- Alfred keeps a picture of Gabrielle in his wallet and thinks about her everyday, these days he’s just glad that he was lucky to have been in love

- Alfred made two separate promises to Thomas and Martha respectively, one to Thomas on being Bruce’s guardian and help him be ready for the fight to come, and one to Martha that he would keep Bruce away from violence and focus on his education

- Alfred did agree with Thomas’ view that Bruce will have to learn how to fight because he didn’t think that he alone was a permanent insurance policy as he didn’t think he would live that long despite Martha’s faith in his abilities to protect Bruce

- Alfred killed an intruder two months before the Wayne murder - that intruder was connected to Thomas’ past dealings over Hugo Strange and Indian Hill experiments

- Alfred and Harvey have met before the show started due to the break in at Wayne Manor where Alfred killed the intruder, their interaction wasn’t all that pleasant as Harvey implicitly suggested that Alfred might have sold out the Waynes’ security code, which only offended and enraged Alfred

- Alfred was suspicious of Thomas’ secret work, knowing that something was amiss, but did not get involved because it wasn’t his place to intrude into the privacy of his employer

- Thomas considers Alfred “his secret weapon” because he has a unique set of skills

- The Waynes and Alfred crossed paths with Jerome Valeska and his mother while they visited the circus and exchanged some heated words

Just read 1 of your baby bc fics on ao3 (I'm FrisianWanderer on ao3), loved it, and saw that this is your tumblr :D I just started watching Gotham (only 1 more ep to go fml, it's just too good) and I love baby batcat! They are so adorable and awesome together (and apart, but esp together) and now I have this fangirl thirst for more! So I was wondering if you have any fic recs for me and authors/tumblrs I need to check out? You also take prompts right? I may have some for you :) xx

Hi! So this ask is suuuuper old, especially because this blog has been on something of a hiatus as of late. Thank you for reading my fic! I’m really glad you enjoyed it! 

I also love Baby Batcat (what isn’t to love?) as well as just Batcat in general. As I said, this ask has been sitting for a while, and you might have already read some of my recommendations, (especially if you did what I did and combed through every inch of Ao3) but here goes!:

Breathe, by canardroublard: a cute little oneshot I really enjoyed it. Very fluffy. 

I was getting warm, but now I’m feeling colder, by dfriendly: features an older Selina and Bruce, I adore this. Selina’s characterization is spot on, and the actual writing is beautiful. 

patch job, by palepinklipstick: very short, under 500 words, but very well written. Almost like a character study of Selina, and I really loved it. 

sweet dream nothings, by palepinklipstick: longer than the last, but still rather short. A cute little oneshot that I think is really well written and characterized.

New Beginnings, by AlwaysInSonder: a little collection of oneshots I really adore. The writing is fantastic, really evocative, and I love the interactions between Selina and Bruce. 

The Wendigo and the Lionheart, by shadychef (Janechef): So this is the only unfinished fic I’m recommending in this ask, and I think it still gets sporadically updated (the last was in February of this year) and as much as it pains me to recommend unfinished fic without regular updates, this story is worth it. I went into it not really knowing what to expect, but I got hooked very quickly and the actual story is great. I love the plot, characterization, writing style, everything. It’s a bit of a thriller, and the actual plot is a bit fucked up, but it’s really interesting. I love writers in superhero fandoms who come up with original villains, and the sheer amount of research, work, time, and effort I know as a writer must’ve gone into chapter seven blows me away. Go read this right now.
