I'm gonna be a theatre nerd on main here. Okay, the original recording of Christopher Plummer singing Edelweiss was released yesterday and honestly, I just want them to re-release the film with his vocals, not the dub. It feels much more natural and organic to him as a performer. What do I mean by that? Well, the man who dubbed Plummer sounded lovely, absolutely nothing wrong. But with Plummer's voice back in, I noticed subtle shifts in his acting that I hadn't before. The original dub is "Hello I am here and I am singing a pretty song, the end." Plummer's version is "I love my country, I love my family...and I think I love this woman who came into my home." And the tiny shifts in his voice match the expressions on his face and the way his eyes suddenly glint in a different way as the Captain. In conclusion, by God that man could act and he shouldn't have been dubbed in the first place. Maybe that's why he was always reticent to sing it in public.

genuinely the way taylor clearly falls hard and fast and hopelessly in love every single time is very endearing. writing "this happens once every few lifetimes" and "no one's ever had me, not like you" on the same album that covers the breakdown of two relationships that were also seemingly destined and life changing and unmatched by anyone else is exactly what makes her so good at writing about relationships. if a songwriter doesn't feel everything with their whole chest and throw their whole being into it then I don't want it

i like how dean represents rory’s humble small town stars hollow world and logan represents rory’s wealthy ivy league world and rory being torn between these two worlds is basically the theme of the show, so you’d think that the narrative would be very dean vs logan. yet both of them are intimidated not by each other but by this little guy who comes out of nowhere during both relationships, displays an undeniable connection with rory and dips. i love it.

I've always wondered about Jess's use of "I could care less if she eats" to Dean in There's the Rub. Because it's an incorrect usage! If he COULD care less, that means that he DOES care! Now, it's a pretty common mistake that a lot of people make, so I normally wouldn't think about it much, except for two things: 1. Jess is a huge nerd who reads all the time, so I would expect him to know the difference; and 2. in Lost and Found, Jess actually makes a POINT of being particular about this exact expression! Rory says, "You couldn't care less," and Jess says, "Oh, yes, I could!" emphasizing that he COULD be LESS interested than he actually is in that moment (he is not at the bottom level of caring!).
Now, I don't know if the WRITERS did this intentionally, but I've always wondered if Jess misspoke on purpose (because he DOES care if she eats!) and was betting on Dean not knowing the difference. And then he can feel sneaky and clever about getting away with hiding in plain sight afterwards. 😆

The way the phrase "Pick-Me Girl" has set us back DECADES, I'm not even kidding... Like, REALLY? We're deciding that if a "girl" doesn't conform enough to what "normal girls" do or like, the explanation is that she's doing it (or faking it, even!) to impress GUYS??? Wow, ok.

just watched Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin’ the Twist and….. there’s no way that they casted a guy that looked and talked exactly like jess and then had rory think of jess immediately when louise asks if shes “still with her boyfriend” (despite louise having NEVER even MET jess) and then have the deanrory phone call at the end almost exactly parallel the literati phone call in A-Tisket, A-Tasket. theres no way they did that. did they know how insane it would make me. how did i never see this before. jess haunting s4 rory always and forever why won’t you go away why won’t you leave me alone and all he’s been doing is leaving her alone and going away but he’s stuck in her head he’s in her brain she’s always thinking about him because she’s trying to not think about him. okay.
