In 2006, I experienced the rise of Emo, Happy Punk, Pop Punk, Hardcore, etc. Of course, I wore my Dickies pants, Famous buckles, and classic Vans or DC-Shoes on my feet. This year has been generous for Mexico, as great bands have performed here or at least had the intention to do so. Blink-182, Paramore, Sum41, MXPX, The Ataris, and my beloved MEST!! It's due to that excitement and as a welcome gesture that I worked on this gig poster! The arcade theme emerged in relation to the recent single that MEST released: When We Were Young!!! It just had to have that punk touch. What you see is exactly what I envisioned in my mind when I started working on it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Este año ha sido generoso para México, ya que grandes bandas han dado shows aquí o al menos han tenido la intención de hacerlo. Blink-182, Paramore, Sum41, MXPX, The Ataris y mis queridos MEST!! Y es dada esa emoción y a modo de bienvenida que trabajé en este gig póster! La temática arcade surgió en relación al reciente sencillo que MEST lanzó: When We Were Young!!! Simplemente había que darle ese toque punk. Lo que ves, es tal cual lo vi en mi mente cuando empecé a trabajar en él. Espero que lo disfrutes tanto como yo disfruté haciéndolo. La idea original del gig póster de #Interpol era colocar la catedral y asta bandera detrás de los empalas, sin embargo, al haberlo trabajado así, me di cuenta de que no es realmente lo que estaba buscando, sentí de más estos elementos así que fueron sustituidos por unas ondas de reverberación tal como se ven en la versión final.

Este concierto gratuito me tomó por sorpresa, y en cuanto me enteré, vinieron un par de ideas a mi cabeza. De todas ellas, los impalas fueron quienes me convencieron.

The original idea for the #Interpol gig poster was to place the cathedral and flagpole behind the impalas. However, as I worked on it, I realized it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I felt these elements were too much, so they were replaced by reverberation waves, as seen in the final version.

This free concert took me by surprise, and as soon as I found out, a couple of ideas came to mind. Of all of them, it was the impalas that convinced me.
