Would you rather: start your current project from scratch or do a soft reboot focusing on a different character?

This is hard bc I’m just now reaching the point of my story that we are actually getting into it like it’s not as much set up from here on out and we are going to finally start the rising action so starting from scratch and having to relay that foundation full of the less interesting and more tone setting parts would be brutal for everyone lol

On the other hand, I think the part of the story I’m currently trying to tell is so centered around Addie that focusing on anyone else would essentially BE starting from scratch. I’m working with an A plot, a B plot, and a C plot at the moment that will continue throughout the rest of the story and help focus on other characters and learn who they are as more than their relationship to Addie, but the general outline for the story does mainly revolve around her due to her position and roles as a character. We are going to see more of an ensemble approach once we get to chapter 2, but for now Addie is our main girl and I can’t see how it could be any different for where I want to go.

If I absolutely had to choose, I think I would say start from scratch

TRUTH: Do you ever miss your old story? Would you ever consider having them make a cameo appearance in this story?

If I’m being completely honest I think the only thing I miss about my old story is the plans I had for the plot towards the end of my posting. I look back at the style of both screenshots and sims and honestly cringe bc it’s so different from what I go for now aesthetics and editing wise which is probably the reason I don’t think I would ever have the Lockwoods make an appearance. If I ever did decide to bring in a brief cameo, I think I would have to completely recreate them to fit in more with my current style so that they didn’t look so out of place.

I was a lot more focused on the story than the screenshots and you can definitely tell that in looking back (some of them are a huge yikes lol) and I guess I miss that sometimes too when I’m frustrated trying to find the right poses or things just aren’t working like I wanted them to in my head. I’ve always loved writing, so my approach of writing the story under the screenshots rather than the screenshots only containing the dialogue was super fun and at times helped better convey what I wanted readers to take from the story more than my current approach.

I also was so new to everything at the start of that story and tried to do way too much wayyyyyy too fast and was more concerned with posting everyday than the pacing of the plot for the majority of it. Overall, I think I had a few good posts in there, but I look back and am extremely happy with my decision to start from scratch here and take what I have learned to apply it to a new story.
