the thing is, as much as i love this au with all my heart and have it living in my head rent-free, objectively i can't even stress enough how much of a fucked up situation that would actually be. everyone involved would be damaged for life, never quite recover — starting with tim himself and the sickening, bone-crushing guilt that will follow him for the rest of his life, then kon, who'll get to deal with practically the same situation that clark had to deal with and that's something that kon never ever wanted to have a perspective on, and on top of that he just got Back From Death which is you now. is already challenging enough as it is. then we have the kid themselves, whose relationships with tim will forever be tainted no matter how much he might love them, and they'll always be haunted by the circumstances of their birth, and by the look in kon's eyes, and by the way tim always has pain lingering in his smile like he wants to be happy so much but he just can't allow it to himself because he's guilty guilty guilty and by creeping realization that they should've never existed

what I'm trying to say here is that it would be completely reasonable for jl to try and separate tim from this child, but the problem is that no one can really raise them but tim, for multiple reasons: a) this is his and only his fuck up, meaning his and only his responsibility b) the kid is quarter kryptonian at best and half kryptonian at worst, so you can't really put him in a regular adoptive family and ma kent deserves a break okay listen. she sure would love this kid with all her heart but it's just unfair to toss every slight kryptonian baby at her c) no one will ever love this child as much as tim already does, and tim's the only one who realizes the danger of being his child meaning he's the only one who can effectively protect him d) kon would be absolutely Enraged after finding this out

imagine the superheroes community finding out about the clone kid and deciding to take them away from tim because clearly tim's insane and can't be trusted with a child bc he's literally a 17 year old who went wild with cloning tubes
