Hannah Montana is fucked up because its entire POINT as a show is that children should be protected from fame and exploitation, but it stars a REAL little girl that's being exploited. Nearly every episode carries the looming threat of Miley being outed as Hannah and losing her peaceful teenage life to the ravages of fame. Her father in the show (played by her own father in real life) wisely protected her from the trauma of fame by making her wear a disguise and live a rather quiet, interview-free life. Meanwhile the REAL Billy Ray Cyrus sold his daughter to Disney Channel when she was 11 and forced her to read dialogue about how terrible it would be to face the public eye. Like... Jesus, dude. The fictional Robby Ray is 10x the father, and it's not even close. (It's also IMMENSELY funny that her dad doesn't use his real name in the show, while she does. Almost like he wanted a bit of a disconnect between his identity and his character. Something Miley didn't get.)

disabled/chronically ill people in general do not have the same number of usable hours as ableds. i can't meet my friend tomorrow because i need to wash my hair, and i can't meet them the day after because i need to do a load of laundry. i can't meet them thursday because i have an important appointment on friday, and if i overdo it on thursday i'll have to cancel friday's appointment. then i can't meet them on saturday because i'll be recovering from going out on friday, if i even manage to make it out the house. the old 'we all have the same 24 hours in the day' saying does not apply to us.

Okay I'm listening to The Golden Enclave for the first time
And I am slightly angry at how much I like Alfie.
Alfie, who is privileged, but who, when given any opertunity steps up.
Alfie, who shared his special extra valuable shield spell with everyone because it was thier best chance of survival.
Alfie, who loves his family and will not accept his father death when he sees an alternative.
Alfie, who actively wingman his increasingly ambitious girlfriend, and would be happy to be happy to be "part of her set"
He isn't the hero of this story.....but he's a charecter who is activly choosing every day to not be a villian....
And I just like this kind of boring white dude who's trying his best....

I think in s6 Giles should have gotten cursed. Like a really bad curse that is absolutely going to kill him. Willow can kind of hold it off for a bit, but her attempts to actually break it are ineffective and ultimately one of Giles’ friends from that coven in Devon has to come pick him up and take him back to England, where they can all work together to keep the curse from killing him until they can find a way to break it.
This accomplishes many things:
Still writes Giles out of the show, per Anthony Stewart Head’s request so he can spend more time with his family
Sets up the coven from Devon and Giles’ eventually triumphant return with their help
Ties into the Dark Willow arc very easily
And most importantly gets rid of the plot point where Giles decides to leave a deeply traumatized and struggling Buffy “for her own good” to try to force her to be independent.
Honestly you can even keep “Once More with Feeling” the same and “Tabula Rasa” largely the same too, where Giles is considering leaving because he thinks that might be what’s best for Buffy. But then in the new episode that takes place directly after “Tabula Rasa” Buffy and Giles talk it out and he realizes how much she really is still struggling and still needs his support and, to assuage his concerns about her leaning on him too much, they agree on an approach to allow her to *slowly* learn how to do all these adult things and take over. And then Giles gets cursed and has to leave for England at the end of the episode anyway.
That way you still get Buffy feeling emotionally abandoned by Giles both because he was planning on leaving her and because the whiplash of him deciding to stay and then having to go after all means Buffy probably still feels like he abandoned her, despite knowing it was actually out of his control. And Giles leaving actually hurts more now, because there was that brief hopeful moment where it seemed like Buffy was finally going to get the help she needed only to have it ripped away.

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

People (Kyoko and Ren) will be like the President is a scheming, deceitful, opportunist who you should never let your guard down around ever! He is the mastermind behind all the strings, and he is plotting my downfall specifically!
And the scheme is always mental stability, matchmaking, and being a wild party animal.

In retrospect while Devin from October Daye was an asshole for other reasons, trying to kill Evening Winterrose just put him several books ahead of everyone else. They should've given him a medal.

do you ever see someone in some quiet intimate moment and suddenly love them so desperately you feel like you’re dying
#like when they pass a mirror and make a face and mess with their hair a little #or when you hear someone singing in their car with the windows rolled up as they drive past you #i don’t know how to express this i just. people are people and it makes me so sad and filled up sometimes

I think it's really sweet in Once More with Feelings how Spike tries his best to get Buffy to leave before he breaks into song. He's been so careful with her since she came back to life, even before knowing she had been in heaven. Never pushing to hard or demanding anything. Just trying to give her the support and space her friends were denying her.
He wanted to protect her from his feelings breaking out, just like he'd been trying to protect her since she came back. He knew she wasn't ready for them and he didn't want to add that pressure on top of everything else she's dealing with. So he tried to get her to leave, but then the song took over and it was too late. Honestly he's just so incredibly sweet so far this season, he knows how lucky he is even to have her back and he just wants to be part of her life and doesn't want to risk being excluded again.

You're just a mammal. Let yourself act like it. Your brain needs enrichment. Your body needs rest. You feel hunger and grow hair. You need to pack bond with other sentient things so you don't become unsocialized and neurotic. You are biologically inclined to seek dopamine and become sick when chronically stressed. "Hedonism" is made up to place moral value on taking pleasure in sensory experiences. I am telling you that if you don't let yourself be a fucking mammal, as you were made, you will suffer and go insane. No grindset no diets no trying to be above your drive for connection. Pursue what makes you feel good and practice radial rejection of the constructs meant to turn you into a machine. You're a mammal.
