Glancing between the task at hand and De, Lacey’s lips were permanent curved in a smile. She was right – it was better having company. “Me? Um, nothing exciting, unsurprisingly. I should probably get out of this house for a while, actually. If you’ve got any suggestions of what to do, I’d love to hear them.”

“Oh please, I feel like you do a lot but you are too selfless to talk about yourself. --Oh! We can...I’ve been wanting to go to an amusement park or something lately. Is there something around here like that? Mmm...” She hummed in thought, “Maybe we hit up a bakery? Get yourself some inspiration, baking queen.”

“Only when stupidity is laid out upon me.” He smiled back at her, with the same sarcasm she seemed to display in her tone. “Which, I’m sure you can guess, is most of the time.”

 De threw her head back, letting out an obnoxious groan then sat up straight and shook her head. “You’re kind of stealing my vibe. I’m usually the irritating one. I don’t appreciate it. It looks better on me than you.”

Addison offered a light smile once she heard her response. “Okay, but for real, don’t die from eating to much dough. Thanks. Who gave me the advice? I don’t know, I was just raised with that info.”

 “Someone told me I might be doing the show a favor and get them higher ratings. What a joy to be around.” De snorted. “No, babe that was me trying to get your name. Although I’m proud of your common sense. I could use a little bit of that sometimes.” De grinned cheekily.

 “God, I always wanted to go out with a bang. Except without me, the opposite might happen. These are drastic choices man.” Her sarcasm intersected his, a smirk growing on her face. “are you always a joy to be around?”

Matt watched the girl give him sass with a smirk. It reminded him of himself, if he was in this situation himself. She didn’t care if he was injured or not, she didn’t want to help him if he wasn’t appreciative of the help, he understood that. “Alright then De, go back to the house.” He smirked slightly, watching as the girl took more pictures, before rolling his eyes. “How long have you been here then?” 

 “I came out to do something. You being mr. dark and gloomy under a tree won't stop me.” De squinted an eye shot, stopping to talk so she could hod her breath for a steady shot. Now he wanted to talk. Her tone was just as dead as his for the time being. “Mmm..” She hummed, “52 hours? And you?”

 De feigned a shocked expression, sucking in air and dropping her jaw, “You bitch.” She took her foot off the stool, quickly king it into her side the pulling it back. “I don’t either. Let’s be dark together. At least we have company.”

 De stared, the chewing she had started stopped as she stared at the girl. “I trust you, I really do. Which is why your last bit of advice--I’m taking to heart. You are an amazing person, thank you.” She cracked a smiled before laughing. “Can I ask who gave me such good advice?”

Lacey, always a sucker for a pun, couldn’t hold back her giggle at the girl’s joke. She may have been a dough thief, but at least she was an amusing one. “I can’t argue with you on that. Have you got any more of those up your sleeve?”

 “Mmm...” De hummed, her attention completely focused on pinching dough faff from the raw cookie. “Dunno, this cookie monster needs time to think. Meanwhile you can tell me what you’ve been up to Ms. Lacey.”

A babe, you know.” Smirking, he rolled his eyes slightly. “I’m afraid if I boast too much about her, you’d make an attempt at something. And, I wouldn’t want you to embarrass yourself, my dear.” Chuckling, he leaned back on his seat. “Are we exchanging gifts now? Because I don’t think I offered, but if that’s everything you want, then by all means get doubles to pass some along to your oh so favourite person.” 

 “See, you don’t want to tell be because you know I’m charming as hell. Just admit it. Like you said, your ego isn’t that fragile. So let me hear it.” De raised her eye brows as if awaiting the sentence. “Exchanging? no. Just giving. What if my favorite person turns out to be your girlfriend? Are you okay with me giving her gifts?” Deanna grinned, poking her tongue out at her new friend she planned to nag whenever she got the chance. “So when do I get to meet her?”
