Alec Hardy Theory

Okay, wait, hear me out. When ricky approaches alec at dinner. He looks straight up terrified. He backs away, his voice hitches. He nervously looks to tess asking if she told ricky that he was back in sandbrook. And it is fast and breathy.

There is a history with these two.

You don't rear back like that unless someone has hurt you in someway, or scared you.

I mean he went from hunched over the table talking to tess. To leaning as far away as he could.

So here's my thought of events.

Tess cheats looses pendant.

Alec takes blame for tess

He gets in reporter hell.

Ricky hears about it. (Clearly, he'd be pissed)

Ashworth trial falls apart.

Ricky targets alec.

Tess kicks alec out while they sort details after the cheating.

Alec sleeps in office.

Ricky visits office next day to discuss whag happens next

Sees alec, (maybe asks to talk in private) and beats the living heck outta him (or at least intimidates him)

Threatens him. Tells him to leave

The CS works to get alec broadchurch job. And alec runs to it.
