On the discussion of book accurate depictions of Sherlock Holmes, one thing I really want is accurate Mycroft. In the books Sherlock is very… autistically coded. At least to me, an autistic person. And Sherlock basically states that Mycroft has more “severe” autism. Sherlock says his brother is more brilliant than he is but absolutely cannot function in society and hates social interaction so much he founded a society for the purpose of minimizing it as much as possible. In addition it’s implied he becomes overstimulated so easily he has to curate his environment to be devoid of disturbance and noise.

Give me the autistic brothers but one has it much much worse

Enough of this Mycroft as the more sociable of the two who is a powerful politician. This man would have a meltdown if he had to be that social!!!

Cheng Yi on wuxia fight scenes.

“my understanding of fight scenes, and i've talked about this with the director, is that a martial artist is a sage. if i fight you, why do i fight? i don't fight for the sake of fighting. it's more of a creative expression, it expresses a character's personality, it's a different state of mind. when the audience watches a fight scene, they (should) get why the character is fighting and what their state of mind is in that moment”

I first fell for Cheng Yi's acting in Love and Redemption. One of my favorite scenes is where Sifeng fights his evil self to escape from the Tower of Oblivion. He really doesn't stop serving face during fight scenes and treats it as another means of creative expression for the character. The desperation from Sifeng contrasting with the malicious glee from his evil self was just *chef's kiss*.

He does this in MLC as well where the brilliant fight choreographer + the actors were able to show the audience so many different flavors of fight scenes.
