Ok so it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here but I’m in college now and haven’t been to therapy in a good while(but probably should go back). Anyway, school has always given me a lot of stress(and I DO NOT deal with stress well) and I’ve have a large history of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. So like two days ago I just came to the realization that school is the largest source of anxiety in my life and that all the “asthma attacks”(because I also have that, I’m a treat) were actually anxiety attacks(they feel very similar) and the anxiety I was going through had me staying up because I couldn’t sleep or would but not for a long time(insomnia) which lead me to sleep in class and left me feeling like a disappointment and unmotivated and generally upset(depression). Soooooo..... I may or may not be terrified of this new semester.....

And that song is good and catchy sooooo
i think rickrolling is the only meme that gets objectively funnier with age. in 2009 you learned to anticipate it but in 2019 it happens just infreqently enough that i fall for it every single time

Me: Recently my friends have displayed some concern on my caffeine consumption.
Me: Honestly I don’t know why. It’s not that bad.

I just realized that Maddy (from Everything Everything) is a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
“Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP) is a mental health problem in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury in a person under his or her care, such as a child, an elderly adult, or a person who has a disability. Because vulnerable people are the victims, MSBP is a form of child abuse or elder abuse.”
Maddy’s mom told her she was sick when she wasn’t, leaving her to have a very weak immune system. Now I know this is what happened but I just realized that her mom had Münchausen syndrome. I didn’t really correlate the two things. The action/events that happened to the name of the syndrome.
To finish:
Maddy (the victim) Munchausen syndrome by proxy
Her Mom (the abuser) Munchausen syndrome

I have a headcanon that Hermione insists her children attend some primary muggle schooling before Hogwarts, just as she had done. Now, imagine Arthur Weasley attending his grandchild’s science fair, being the ultra proud grandfather….and yet also completely geeking out over absolutely EVERYTHING.

So I’ve seen this headcannon about Teddy L. about him creating trouble around Hogwarts but none of the teachers are able to pin it to him so no one can take points away or do any disciplinary action.
I’m not sure I really believe this because honestly this is in the same world Sirius B. was sant to Azkaban with no evidence and Snape was able to give/take points with bullshit excuses.
But I do love the headcannon and totally believe that Teddy wreaks havoc at Hogwarts.

Ayo, so in class we’ve been talking about kids in war and a person I know brought up pjo and it became a full on argument. It’s sad that these kids are put in situations where the only way for them to survive is to fight. The difference between real life and pjo though is that in real like there are other people, adults even, that could fight wars. Also that the kids in real life could run away. In pjo the kids have no choice but to fight or die. Through out their life they are hunted by monsters. The only place that is safe also teaches them to protect themselves and sends them on quests to battle monsters and put their training to the test.
I am not, under any circumstances, saying that kids fighting wars is okay. I am saying that trying to compare the pjo series to real life is unrealistic. In real life everyone can fight wars/battles because they know and can see what’s happening. In the pjo world only the demigods know and can see what’s happening. Also the kids in pjo chose to fight. They asked many people to fight and when they realized no one was they took in in their own hands. They went around and asked for help and garnered their own army.
An argument made was that if, in pjo, they stoped sending kids to war then there would be more adult demigods to fight. I feel the need to remind everyone that the only reason Percy survived as long as he did was because Gabe’s discussing odor masked Percy’s. No one knew he existed for the most part. Annabeth was attacked as a kid and was on the run. That’s why most kids don’t live to be an adult. Every day demigods are outside camp they are at risk of being killed. The less training they have, the higher the risk.
Also the fact that there are only two major wars concerning the Greek Demigods says a lot. Everything else was a battle. Wars have army’s, battles have just about everything else. Now in the first major war Percy created an army, with help from friends, to fight against what could have been the end of the world. No one was forced to fight, everyone was asked to help the fight.
In the pjo series CHB is a place for demigods to go and learn how to stay alive as long as they can. They are sent on quests to further their training, because you can only learn so much from a dummy, they need real life training(also quests were banned for a while. Percy kinda brought quests back and even then there was a lot of rules for deciding on who got to go on a quest. Percy broke many of them). Wars didn’t happen often so not many kids ever had to experience being in one.
The things that happen in the pjo books aren’t things that normally happen in that world. But even then to comepare a fictional world to reality is a loosing battle. Because you can’t comepare the two.
Kids should not fight wars, but trying to bring that logic to a fictional series doesn’t make sense—at all.
