This is entirely unrelated to Featherclan but I had this idea for a clangen blog called Islandclan where it was like one of those reality TV game show things where they're stuck on an island every moon they voted someone off the island and the voting is done by randomly selecting three cats and then the audience votes on which one leaves the island. It would probably be short, since by the end it would have a winner aka the last cat. Anyways it's a funny idea but idk if I'd have the time for two clangen blogs.

Working through the discomfort can be hard at times, but worth it.

Super dialogue heavy update! They just had a lot they needed to say and I didn’t want to make this a two part update because the next one is going to be long. Since I’ve been busy with final projects and the with focus of this update, no real backgrounds this time. Would love to know peoples thoughts on this one.

ITS BEEN FIXED :> thx to the clangen discord for all the help

Windows (I think) decided to delete my clangen runner file so that's fun. I don't know shit about technology but I'm going to do my best to fix it. If any files get erased or corrupted I'll cry a little, but I have played and written notes to moon 56, which means if this takes a while to solve I'll still have source material for a while. But also to break the news, up until that moon I'm working with a version that isn't the newest one, so there are things like prey that won't affect the clan rn.

ALSO I'm in the midst of final projects. I'm working on moon 15 in the background when I can but even though I usually say "I'm gonna make the updates short when I'm busy" I broke my own rule(again) and the next two moons are kind of longer. Thank you all for your patience (again)

For 500 followers, I was thinking about doing something like this again, except taking some suggestions from yall! I'm only at 420(haha), so it would be a while if it ever does happen, but maybe I'll just do it sooner for fun. Any suggestions for clangen blogs? I've already got a few that I want to do.

FEATHERCLAN REBORN

This is a more recent pinned post! If you’re new to the blog and want to avoid any and all spoilers, I suggest you start here and here ! Below are going to be refs that were updated on Moon 13.

Hello! I'm Pluto [They/them] and this is Featherclan. General warning for animal violence, anything that’s in warrior cats is kind of what we’re working with as far as that goes. While this is based on children's media, I am an adult and I do want to point out that sometimes my writing reflects that. As in, these cats are gonna curse.

Not too long ago, Featherclan was a thriving clan known for being quick thinkers and fast runners. Their neighboring clans even joked about them being able to fly. 

Then the fire came. Only two young cats from the clan were able to escape. From the smoke, can they rebuild Featherclan?

Mostly everything is randomly generated from the game clangen, but I’ve taken some liberties to make things more interesting and fun. I update by moon, and asks are always open, even if responses might take a while.

Hey just a quick question to see what yall think! I've got some updated refs but I'm not sure if I should just swap them out with the refs in the pinned post of when the comic started or make a whole new pinned post (not deleting the older post, so that people could go back and see the original references if they want to!).

Also I'm working on making an allegiances post, if anyone has any advice or specific things they'd like to see on it lmk and I'll see if I can incorporate it.

Question! I don’t remember if this was answered earlier, but when he said “you three” (including Eagleclaw) I gotta wonder what happened to Sparrows other littermate? Did they die in the fire or were separated ?

It's actually both. Sparrowtuft’s littermate (Pinekit) got seperated from her during the fire and ended up going to Starclan with the rest of the clan. Well. Most of them anyways. He will briefly show up in a few moons :) He's watching over his sister from the stars and was very upset to find out she was in Starclan and he didn't get to say hello. I don't know if this will ever come up, but Eagleclaw had planned to come back for the two of them but she never made it back.

Ooc, did you change Raven and/or Sparrow's name to match the bird theme or did the game generate them?

I did change their names to match the bird theme! I unfortunately didn't write down their original names anywhere, so I don't remember them. I'm not good with code or anything, but if anyone knows how to check that and they let me know, I'll check and edit the post with their original names.

The bird names are actually very into the lore that I've cooked up and I don't know when I'm going to get the chance to talk about it again so mini lore drop.

Previously in Featherclan before the fire, cats named with a bird prefix were only done so if there was some sort of sign that indicted they should be named after a bird. Say, a kitten was born and not so long after that a bird started singing for the mother to hear. It's seen as a honor and it's wasn't uncommon for the cats named after birds to have strange things about them, maybe prophecies that specifically had to do with them, or a stronger connection to starclan than most or some other fun things. It's rare and unusual for cats to be named after birds when there was no sign prior, but it does happen.

In Featherclan now since they're rebuilding, I've decided that any cat that is clanborn will have a bird name, at least for a little while. If any new cats join from outside the clan, including kits, they don't have to change their name and in fact it might be seen as rude if they try and change their name to a bird's name.

That's some of the lore I have around the bird names and I totally know you didn't ask about it, but it was related, and I love talking about it.
