Waiting for the bus in Nara. Slightly starting to miss Japan, how cheap the suits were, how great everyone looks in a suit, how crowded the buses were, just how wonderfully refined things were, and still are.

After dancing and singing along to the 60′s theme song for the Batman tv shows, some were ready to leap off tall objects.

One of the happiest festivals. Everyone is grinning. It may be because of the giant penises being paraded, the penis shaped popsicles or many other fertility related foods and goods. My only wish is that there also be a vagina shaped kayak festival. How is that not also fun!

Every morning, there’d be a queue (of mostly) men outside this pachinko slot place in Shinjuku. The noise, the monotony and the sheer depressing nature of these places don’t evoke feelings of lost opportunity, having not tried pachinko ever. Mostly they look and feel like a harsh work environment, and for some that is apparently what it was, a low paid job.

This is the view down one of the main streets of Shinjuku 新宿. It will eventually lead you into Kabukicho where many foul things are on offer.

The crossroads separating Kabukicho and the rest of shinjuku. Here’e where you can grab a Mr. Donut donut and escape into the 100 bar district. You’ll often run into interesting characters around here such as flower tiger man on bicycle.

The yearly Koenji dance festival has many dance troupes with dancers of all ages. It is pretty amazing both how good everyone is and how each group has it’s own distinct flavour on the ritual.

The kid on the right, might look aggressive at first glance. I think that its simply past 11pm, he’s tired and he’s looking to see if the guy on his phone wants to squeeze unto the already overfull train The masks make it hard.

Shot in Okubo aka k-town Tokyo. These street dancers were equally impressive by the crowd they gathered and their tenacity to dance in what felt like 40 degrees celsius. Nothing will stop the beat!
