“Sorry ‘bout that!” Jingyi says to Link, and Rotom decides to focus on these two now. “So— you mentioned a duel, yeah? I’m in! We should decide the rules! You can start.”

Link blinks. “Uh— sure. I was kind of just— casually mentioning it, you know— but uh—” He holds up his hands when Jingyi gives him and the Master Sword the most heartmelting puppy-dog eyes. “Okay! I should brush up on my skills, anyway…. How about— code word or signal to stop when one side’s had enough? Also limited magic weirdness and no ranged stuff. Just a mostly traditional swordfight.”

“Sooo that means no flying swords, right? Might be outmatched here,” Jingyi laughs. “I’m just a standard Lan disciple, and you’re the… champion swordsman of Hyrule?”

Link waves him down. “Was. ‘S alright— don’t let that daunt you.” 

“I’ll just give it my best shot, then!” 

Wen Qing cuts them off with a shout, however. “Hey, little Lan!” 

“LITTLE LAN—?” 

“Could you please do that a bit later? Some of us are trying to have a conversation here. In any case, it’s already evening— wouldn’t you rather wait until morning?”

Link nods, and Jingyi huffs in disappointment.

[A video is attached, showing Zelda’s group and Jingyi’s group relaxing in an open place by the route beside Eterna City and chatting lightly. Naboris lets Meihua play with her legs as she loafs beside the trainers, while all the other Pokemon sniff at each other curiously in an attempt to get to know each other.

“There’s all sorts of things I want to discuss with you three!” Zelda says enthusiastically to Meng Yao. “I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the way that magic from your world works, and just what everything is like there—?”

Before Zelda launches into a fully-fledged ramble, Meng Yao interrupts, smiling awkwardly, “I’m sorry, I’m probably not the best person to ask.… My cultivation is extremely poor.”

Jingyi, who had been talking with Link, hears and cuts in, “Oh come on, don’t put yourself down like that. Maybe you weren’t amazing at any one thing, but you know techniques from almost every major clan!” 

They don’t have any reply to that, so they turn back to Zelda again.

At this point, I should probably mention I have quite a lot of siblings. There's also Lyf (he/they, I suspect he'll use purple if they show up), Ritchie (definitely uses pink and any pronouns. Or red, if Mom takes pink) and Elfilin. (... He probably won't show up. He's shy.) A'Niang (Kuo Hoi, or Meema, as most of us call them) uses plain text, and Mom (Annie) will probably use pink if she shows up.
