I am also aroace and have been asked so often why I ship Alastor/why I can ship him since he is aroace etc. ....

And it's always so hard for me to put it into words, but this describes it so well!

I so rarely find a character that I like that much, that I connect with that much, and when I have a character like that, I ship them with so many different characters, but reading a ship that doesn't include such a character is just not interesting to me, it doesn't give me the same feeling.

"Why people are so obsessed with shipping?"

Can't say for everyone, but I am aroace, very much on repulsed side with detachment issues. There is no way in hell I can experience romance or sex, nor do I want to. But fictional shipping gives me the thrill of feelings where I don't have to participate at all and just be an excited viewer. This feeling of tickling tightness in my chest is very pleasurable!! So I love shipping, I love smut, especially emotional. (just as mush as I love found families but no one complains about found families, only about shipping, so here we are)

"Then ship someone else? Why do you need Alastor for this?"

Well, it just doesn't work with some nobody character. I need to be actively emotionally invested in them for it to hit me perfectly in the heart(you can say it's like demi? where the feelings come after the 'bond'). And Alastor is that character for me(well the second character, in my ship with my first fave, aren't I lucky). He is my window to those feelings and only he can be it.

I tried to show my mother Hellaverse songs

So we had a party at home today, and I managed to get my mom to watch at least a few music videos by Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss afterwards. I knew from the start that I would never manage to get her to watch more.

I only showed her the english versions, even though we are from a german speaking country, simply because I only watch it in english anyway, so even though she doesn't understand english, the point of it was that the songs are good.

She made a few interesting comments afterwards, none of which had anything to do with the songs actually.

It's like a gathering of piranhas because they all have such sharp teeth.

She missed colors, to be precise a blue sky. (Yes, I informed her several times that it was set in hell)

Helluva Boss sounds like a bath product to her. She suspects it's because it sounds similar to loofah sponge to her.

It was definitely a very interesting conversation I would say haha.
